Duke energy has the worst customer service I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with, they have nc by the balls as there is noone to compete with. Would not move a due date from Tuesday to Friday, like who gets paid on a Tuesday? And why have they got ppl not even in America answering phones ,and then when they are all you hear are their kids screaming in the background,DUKE ENERGY ,....YALL SUK SO BAD....BUT I GUESS BEING RICH YALL WOULDNT CARE! I CANT WAIT FOR CHINA TO HACK YALLS S**t....THEN YOULL HAVE ALL THE EXSCUSES YOU NEED TO BE DEEMED SORRY!!!

I'm very disappointed with Duke Energy's accounts payable department. I have had a tremendously hard time making my monthly payments to Duke due to an IT error on the company's part. I have tried to mail my payment, tried to pay online and tried to pay on the phone, but each method has been blocked by the company. I've persevered each time, calling and reaching out until I'm able to pay. All but the first payment s have been on time. "All payments" were given a confirmation number by Duke when the funds were reserved. I started monitoring the payments digitally after the first confirmed payment wasn't completed with Duke's electronic system actually pulling the reserved money from my account. Now, I'm told that I have to pay in person or wait until later in the month to pay through ordinary channels, ... with the idea that the investigation is resolved. ( I requested the investigation to be initiated into Duke's billing practices in two of my last phone conversations with Duke. These conversations spanned more than a month apart.)

I was on the phone over 2 hours trying to get help. Was disconnected 3 times. Never got resolution to my problem.

A storm hit 25 mi from my house in bethel Ohio literally I could get a suntan and fart harder than the wind is but my power went out again you guys have us on the weakest grid in bethel I've ever seen I am so sick of sunny days being out of power but having to pay higher electric bills fix it for god sakes

Duke energy customer service and billing system is a joke. Literally had to over talk a customer service reps screaming baby to address billing issues. Needless to say my issue was never resolved. I have spent upwards of 2 hoyrs every month for the last 6 months dealing with them over a billing error! Ridiculous

I am highly upset.this time last year my bills were $89, at one address,$25, at another address(a shop), and $165 at my primary resident. This year at the same time, my $89 bill is $295, my shop went from $25 to $116, and my primary in just over $202. Something fishy going on here. My shop is hardly being used and my dad's hardly at home. The people checking the meters are either not qualified to do so or somebody is tinkering with the bills. We need to get up a petition against the price gouging going on ay Duke energy.I am all in. Join me.

Cutting power off to so many on Christmas eve, is horrible. Ya'll can't handle the extreme cold weather for 3 days. That is beyond sad and just unforgivable. You didn't even give people a heads up so if they had medical items that needed power they could go somewhere else. You had businesses shut down on one of the busiest days of the year. If I could get another electric company - I would in a heartbeat. You all should be ashamed of yourselves!

1. Turned off power to 500,000 people with no notice
2. Turned off how many traffic lights across NC with no notice
3. How many ventilators and medical devices in homes across NC did they turn off with no notice?
4.Their overpaid upper management has them in a place where they do not have the capacity to cover demands. Sign of things to come. Lynn Good is knocking out 14 mil
5.Solar power does not work when it is overcast. You shut down more coal plants with out any thing to take their place while growth in NC is over the top. That is all on piss poor management at Duke.

Duke Energy, you can't handle a few days of cold weather without cutting power to thousands of homes/businesses so as not to overload the "grid"? What in God's name will happen if we get a snow storm here in Easter NC? I hope somebody will Sue the hell out of ya'll!!

Your always advertising about working hard for secure energy for our future. I don't see it. It gets cold for two days and the grid can't handle it. You send out alerts threatening to turn off the power. My mom is 94 and you don't know how worry some it is knowing that she might freeze to death and I know you could care less. Your probably supporting the notion of electric vehicles for everyone. Wow how will the grid handle that?
I have lived in a lot of different places in the USA and you are without a doubt the worst power company I have ever experienced.

Duke power does not care whose Christmas Eve they ruin, how many senior citizens freeze to death, how many lies they tell. They tried to tell me the weather was preventing them from fixing the problem. There is no bad weather other than it's COLD outside. My parents are 83 and 93. They cannot stay at home. Everyone that has to stay in a hotel or has their food they bought to prepare for Christmas should send Duke the bill. Thanks Duke for ruining Christmas and trying to turn the Carolinas into California

Duke energy is a monopoly and a poor excuse for a business as a power provider. I have waited 6 hours today to get power. No updates or communication as to expectations for restoration. It once said it would be back on by 9:15. NOT! Then it went to a message that stated assessment being made with no expectation of restoration time. Then when he did come, never received any notification and yes I'm signed up for outage alerts. This is not the first time Duke has shown poor restoration time and it probably won't be the last. But what is a person to do when there is no other option? And on top of that duke prices for energy are absolutely outrageous. I know of other people with other options for energy and their energy bills are no where near the prices charges by duke. I so wish there were other options for me.

I am thankful I do not have Duke Electric but a friend of mine does and it's horrible! Everytime there is a weather issue, and it can be a minor weather issue, she looses power and it takes forever to get it restored. She's been without electricity since 6:00am Dec 24 and it's now 1:46pm Dec 24 and no power restored! Somebody needs to take legal action against you people! Ya'll suck!

The fact that you people turned off the power when it's 19 degrees out on Christmas Eve just speaks volumes to the lack of poor service. Everyone else that doesn't have you as their energy source has power. Y'all SUCK!!!! For six hours really!!!! You couldn't maybe cut off different sections for a couple hours and then do another section. STUPID!!!!

Repair service is horrendous. I called in outage around 5 am. Around 10am I receive text power was restored! That was a lie! The power was not restored. Do I reported outage again. 4 hours later there are still no crews in Waterloo SC when I was already told crews had been dispatched. Nor does Waterloo SC or Lauren's county show on your outage map. I just came back from driving around looking for downed lines/transformers etc and Duke Rnergy crews. No crews are in the area nor could I find the damage. You need to put the lines underground since you are unable to maintain them above ground and how about clear cutting?

Duke charges 3/4x any other electric company, and you have absolutely no choice in using them. I have a 2800sq ft house. In the winter, I close off the upstairs, and the downstairs, and only heat 600 sq feet of open space with 1 electric heater, then put an electric pad on my bed for the first 2 hours at night, for my adjoining bedroom that I don't heat. My bill this month was $600. I personally know people that are heating entire 3500 sq ft homes at half that cost! I even invested in solar, which doesn't cut the cost one bit! WORST COMPANY EVER!

I called about a transformer explosion. The fire department showed up immediately. The telephone pole was on fire wires on sidewalk sparking for 45 minutes. You an hour to show up. You send 1 guy out. He cleaned up and left. Now no power till at least 11:30 it's absolutely bull. You can go fix Florida after a hurricane but one guy for us. Nice now I'll lose all my food.

I don't think Duke energy do check meters, I have been away for Vacation for the month of November, my circuit breaker was tune off, still the bills come and is two times higher than what I was paying, this is not fear

Every two months for years they cut my power off because they can't hire people who can do thier jobs correctly. 6 people today alone.Y'all smoking that s*** up in there ain't y'all crackheads.Cause the facts are every two months I gotta call in to get a account number to pay my bill after they disconnect it from nonpayment from never sending a bill to correct address after being requested month after month for year's!
