Don't go here. My experience started 5 months ago. I needed a new battery. Went and placed it, ensured there was a warranty and drove away happy. Cut to this week. I go out to start my car. Nothing. Completely dead. I get a jump, it starts right away. I drive to this store and I was told that they would need to test the battery to make sure it was ok. They tested it but I was not allowed to see what the test said. They denied it was the battery and told me it could be my alternator. So I bring it home, have my son (a mechanic mind you) replace my alternator, and assume I'm good. I had an appointment at my dealer for an oil change (I still get them for free) so I asked them to check it when I brought it in to ensure my battery and starter was ok. Half hour later? they tell me the battery is completely dead. So dead they can't even tell if it is the starter. They give me that, in writing, so I head back to the store to get it replaced, thinking well now two people have told me it's the battery so they have to honor their warranty, Right?!

I arrive at the store. Another gentleman parked next to me, in a brand new car, is also asking about his battery. They refuse him a new one as well. I try to enter the store, following the salesman who was testing this gentleman's car. He dropped the door on me. I stand in line and get the next person, not this man, and tell him my problem. Before the words come out of my mouth, this man broke into our conversation and told me we'd have to test it first. Several times. I called out his rudeness but he proceeded, while he was "helping" his own customer (he left angry too). He then again tests my dead battery and again says it's good, without showing me. Tells me he won't replace my warrantee part like it was coming out of his pay. He was the most disagreeable man I've ever encountered.

So now I hear I sit, out of $259 because this store won't honor their warranties. The man next to me was about as happy with this news as I was and he left angry too. I could almost tolerate this if it wasn't also for the complete lack of respect I was shown. I don't need to be treated like a princess, but raising your voice to me in a store where you are employed is just plain outrageous. If anyone is wondering, this man's name I did not obtain but he looks like if Meatloaf had a baby with Skeletor. Avoid him at all costs. He does not deserve to have a job with his complete and utter lack of customer service.

So, do not go here, especially as a woman, or you will be talked down to like you know nothing, even when you are correct and have paperwork to verify it. I will never enter this store again and I urge everyone to do the same. I will mention that the man I encountered the first time was nice, and the other man who tried to help me today was lovely. But this guy? Deserves to be fired.

You representative was unhelpful with what I asked and Elian sent me to a screen like I was sending something back to your store it wasn't helpful at all. What are you going to do about all the people fixing cars in front of your store. The police already been to your stores and removed some cars do you know that it seems like you getting a kick back from the people that are working on the cars mean while they are greasing up the sidewalks so what are you going to do

I could not get the part I wanted , the young man had never heard of general motors , can u believe it?
This is central ave yonkers autozone!!

My daughter bought some some brakes from the Auto Zone and bought some brakes for the front of her car and was charged for the back brakes and when she went to try and exchange them that's how and when we found out that she was charged for the back brakes and not the front brakes and with us not knowing they charged us full price for the fronts brakes and I don't think it was right when it wasn't her fault the she was charged for the back brakes instead and the Manger over at the store was rude as well and didn't at least try to fix the problem. Thanks E.H.

Middletown location: Door says the store opens at 730am. Online it says 8am. It's now 8:21am and the guy inside has still not opened the doors. Maybe hire people that care about their job.

Not Happy at all !! Calling me and waking me up at 8am to tell me my part is in at Saint Clairsville Ohio 43950 store #1715 Manager said her name was Amanda, and that it is protocol to call that early and that I should have tuned my phone off and I do not turn my phone off in case there is a medical emergency with my family. I asked her to take my number out of their system or phone harassment charges will be filed if she calls my residence again that early or even at all. She said she can not take my number out of the system. She continued to act like there was no problem with the situation and insisted I call corporate office.

I sent an email earlier this week about an incident I had at the south 56th street location in Lincoln Nebraska and an employee making out with a man in the business instead of helping customers. When I reported this I indicated that the employees name was Natasha but has since learned that their real name is actually Andy. I apologize for the confusion but thought you would want to know. Unfortunately I will no longer be visiting any of your establishments if you condon this type of behavior and will be advising my family and friends of the same.

I Had the absolute worst experience at Auto Zone today with some very rude employees. I came in with a receipt to return an item I had bought for the second time and did not work (mag dash pivot ) I'm the box. This is my second return because I really wanted this but it does not stick properly. The employee rudely told me she could not take my receipt because of the date, i them ask could she return the item with no receipt and she rudely said I cannot take that back. I asked the store policy on which she was unable to tell me. Her along with another employee by the name of Caesar proceeded to brush me off in a ride and disturbing way. The service I got was absolutely disturbing and rude. I will NEVER ever shop at auto zone again because of this poor treatment about an item from this store that did not work twice.

River Road AutoZone 97404, wouldn't take my recyclable oil unless I gave my personal information so they can log it into their computer. They advertise FREE oil recycling, however my personal information would be payment. Staff refused to talk to me or take my old oil.

I bought a new motor and it was installed by a mechanic. There was an issue and it had to be pulled out and new one sent. Now Auto Zone is refusing to pay for the reinstall. 2,800 dollars worth. They are stealing from me. I have called and spoke to a regional manger who has not been helpful
At all.

Alot of people dont realize that your bank also plays a part in this process......it takes autozone 3-5 business days maximum to process it on their end after that your bank is in control of that and some banks even state in their account policies that returned charges can take up to a week after the banks received the refund to post. I don't know I have never had a problem returning something on a Monday and having my refund in my account by Friday at the latest.

I ordered a fuel pump from one location to be shipped to another location and was told it would be there same day. The next morning I called they said it hadnt arrived. I waited called back still it wasn't there . I come into the store and the fuel pump was there and had been there since 10pm the next day.

I do not even know where to begin with your AutoZone store in Memphis, Tennessee address 7720 Poplar Ave. I was in your local store attempting to purchase a Soundsystem some paint refrigerant for my truck and a new pant Emma. After I was completely ignored for 15 minutes while there was three workers standing at the counter, one named Tracy, which is a shorter African-American female continued not only cause and argue with her mom on the phone and ignore all the customers, but when I ask her for help to get refrigerant, she first that they did not have any and I literally had to force her to go check where she didn't came back with a $70 can of our 134 and I asked if there was a smaller can and she said hell no not with the hose on it so I asked to other employees who been lied to me as well so I looked up everything myself on my and of course found everything I needed then they were too lazy to even check me out. They told me I needed to use the self check out and this whole time you're sorry lazy manager was sitting at the end of the counter, watching and listening every bit of this happen , not to mention I am a very very loyal customer and have spent lots and lots of money here recently my name is Michael Mccollum and my cell phone number is 870-635-1220 which is also my loyalty number and I expect at least a return call from someone and if you continue to let that group of people work in your stores, then you might as well close the doors and try something else. Those people literally ruined peoples. Good day on a regular basis but thanks for your new self check out at least I was able to check out myself and purchased by items

10 AM October 4, Wednesday. Holding on the phone for 10 minutes, i asked for a Supervisor right out the door. Seems like someone would have touched bases with me in 10 minutes of holding. If i asked for a Supervisor right away, that means it's important. Well they don't think so

Terrible experience. The manager Sandra M. Told her employees not to bother helping my company when we went to match up a gasket, that it would be a waste of their time. A waste of their time that they are getting paid to help people purchase parts, crazy. Our company will no longer use this company. The manager didn't change her attitude until we informed her that we'd be giving her name to corporate and then she wanted to play nice. The level of unprofessionalism is unreal. To the one employee that did try to help I suggest you leave that toxic work environment and go someplace they value customer service.
Go down the road to Napa and they found the part number within a minute, it all comes down to people willing to help one another. They had plenty of time to smoke when we left.

Bought parts from AutoZone ended up getting used parts that were fordmotor company parts inside a duralast box drove 2 hours just to get parts same day only to get someone else's old used part now I'm being told no refund because it isn't the right part well I bet if AutoZone put a 4th grade child on the task to research the part in question it was a return and I got screwed out of couple hundred dollars and my account this month alone I spent 3k at AutoZone fixing vehicles we will be going somewhere else if this isn't fixed half the time they don't wanna give me my military discount because it takes a password is what I'm told and management is busy

Ordered $363 of parts on line 9/10/23 from Autozone( to be picked up next day at local store in Louisville, KY) and was notified next morning via email that our order had been cancelled. Called the 800 customer service number and was trying to understand the customer service person - he said the store did not have the parts in inventory and for that reason the company cancelled the order. He said the company would have our $363 back in our account within 5 days. I asked why the store could not order the parts and the customer service person said the company would not allow that! I asked why again and the service person said our discussion was over and hung up on me. So now we will not be getting the parts, we will lose the 15% LABOR DAY promotional discount and have to wait up to five days to get our money back. What a Great Company!! If at all possible, buy your parts elsewhere. The Vanguard Group, Inc. owns Autozone and apparently responsible for their Customer Service attributes!!!!

Just came from the AutoZone on 16 5 minute the counter doing nothing else and they wouldn't even help :-( contemptibleth avenue Southwest in West Seattle. They wouldn't even help two young black women put coolant in their coolant reservoir. They said we don't help people it's not our policy. We don't want to be liable. The store owner was extremely obnoxious and cut me off and threaten to call the police on me when I spoke up for them. I wouldn't shop there ever again in life and I would highly recommend that no one else goes there unless you just don't care about service.

I was hours away from home and hit a deer with my maxima, busting the radiator. I purchased a radiator for Auto Zone in Mt Carmel and had to wait for it to be ordered which took two days to arrive, after expressing that I was 7 hrs away from home and needed it sooner.
I waited two days for the radiator to arrive and once I went to pick the radiator up, the clerk dropped it. He supposedly inspected it and sent me on my way.
I replaced the old radiator with the new radiator and just as I assumed it was damaged from the clerk dropping it. I was frustrated from having to wait on the store to order it, wait two days and only to watch the clerk drop it and bust it.
So I trailered my car home on uhaul car hauler and I also had to rent a truck to pull the trailer with my car.
This incident costed me time at work, as I travel for job and I had to sleep inside my car because I was 7 hrs away and didn't know anyone in Mt Carmel to give me a ride to the motel.
Mt. Carmel showed no sympathy and didn't offer to replace my radiator after their employee dropped it.
I believe it would only be fair for some compensation since I lost so much already due to the negligence of their employee. And I'm a 5'8" female, weighing only 112 pounds changing this radiator not once but twice in the middle of a parking lot with the heat index of 112.

So one of the managers from the Lexington va auto zone is talking about transferring to another auto zone possibly in another state with the reviews and the rudeness of this person I would certainly hope he doesn't get a transfer or any with this company he is bad news and rude to customers

Posted by Anonymous

So called auto zone in Lexington va about a certain kind of oil they stated no we don't have it but we can order it , I went there in person to check for myself yes they did have it so when they put you on hold and say they gonna check don't always believe them

Posted by Christopher

Auto zone in Lexington va rude not friendly do not greet you when you walk in, store is not clean items have been setting there Soo long they are dusty and dirty some stuff has black on them from setting so long. All some of the managers do is stand around on their phones or outside smoking and vapeing where the customers come in the door to the store. Some managers don't even want to come out from around the counter to help customers, they will say look down this aisle or that aisle. Do not like this store , do to lazy help.and they don't like to greet you when you come in the store. One of the main people who is not friendly towards the customers is a heavy set man named Christopher

I have to share our great experience with the store manager Wayne Bawden. My husband and I were traveling from Tucson Az to Augusta Ga pulling a 46' 5th wheel when our AC in the truck stopped blowing cold air. It felt like a 100°+ inside our truck. I have some health issues and I was beginning to get sick. I googled the nearest Autozone and thankfully GPS led us to the Autozone in Sweetwater Texas and we were happily helped by Wayne. My husband knows the basics around an ac unit in vehicles but a newer truck was bit more challenging. Wayne came outside and actually added refrigerant himself while explaining what he was doing. He brought me a bottle of cold water because the heat was taking a toll me. Within minutes the truck was blowing ice cold air again, and I was feeling better from the cold water. Not only did Wayne get us on back on the road, he told us which rest stops were shaded and he recommended some good places to eat. Wayne went above and beyond to help us out and refused to take any money my husband offered him out of gratitude. Thank you Wayne for your excellent customer service, the service industry should have more people like you.

I wanted to share how impressed I am with the AutoZone Company. I was at a funeral recently for a friend whose husband works at AutoZone. I sat in the church as around 75 or more AutoZone employees came dressed in a nice AutoZone shirt and walked in together and sat together in that funeral to show solidarity and support to that mourning husband and fellow employee. I've never seen anything like it. That is a company that knows how to support each other. That's a company that knows how to be a team!

I was just in the Powhatan. Virginia store and the employee that helped me was named Quintez. I may have the spelling wrong, he provided the best customer service I have gotten from an auto parts store in 20 years and even came and asked me if he could help me while I was browsing the store. A good employee you need to take care of him

I want to say thank you to a specific employee at your Auto Zone Store at 3322 Cromwell Dr, Norfolk, VA 23509; unfortunately, I don't have her name. However, she was the only lady working on October 4th around 6pm (an older African American lady). She went beyond to help me. My newer Range Rover Sport was having electrical issues/transmission fault, and my phone was dead. She helped me find a cord and brick to charge my phone and made sure I was safe while waiting for the tow truck. She was the only person to do this. On top of that, she offered to charge the cars battery and told me all the wonderful things her store offered. She was wonderful. Please find her, and please tell her how exceptional her caring and empathy are in today's world. She made a difference.

Friday 22sep2023 1000-1005 hrs
Just spoke to a exceptional female customer service rep,
I regret to remember her name, but she was so awesome!
I have multiple questions about an order and about an autozone
Store in Norfolk Virginia.
She was very thorough, took her time and confidently and accurately answered my inquiry. I had her on the speaker phone and my wife was impressed as well!
Auto zone is lucky to have her as part of the business!
Thank you! Jess

Store 3601 today you had an new manager up at registers she was amazing but you could see she was pushed way to hard but still smiled and asked for patience as other managers overwhelmed the lady with a unorganized system
I seen her adapt and jump in with two feet running and was amazing how she took control your unprofessional staff need more like her

Greetings! You know, we are almost wired to waste little to no time complaining when things aren't right. However, we hesitate, and in so many cases--neglect to congratulate when things are done right. I would like to spotlight the hard work, dedication and customer service of store # 3177, and in particular, Store Manager, James Rooker. I saw him work hard even when he was scheduled off, and he is always knowledgeable, professional, cordial and extremely consistent with those attributes mentioned. I truly believe that his leadership has had a direct influence on the staff there. It's because of that kind of ethic I only use your store out of a number of stores in our county. James Rooker and I are unacquainted, other than store transactions, but I felt compelled to let you know that you are represented well. He deserves to hear that someone notices and has the gumption to let it be known on a corporate level. Be well!

Blessings and Peace,

Rev. Carl Wardlaw, III

Shane Garrett of Auto Zone Store on Howard Gap Road in Hendersonville, NC gets a 100 per cent customer service score from me. He helped me get my truck jump started and did not charge me a dime! He is very friendly and helpful and answered any and all of my questions. He is very knowledgeable about vehicles and their parts and is one of the best representatives that Auto Zone has in their employ. I hope Auto Zone realized what a wonderful employee Shane Garrett is. George Droney age 72 Hendersonville.

Also came back when I had questions about synthetic oils and recommended a product for my chainsaw he was very helpful I'm glad he was there.

Richard Lark in West Lafayette Auto Zone gave me the best customer service I've ever had in an automobile parts or repair shop. He found the parts that my car needed and installed it for me himself. And he found another issue that he easily fixed. I had a disconnected hose that I failed to notice. After Richard attached it, my service engine soon light went off on my ride home. While he helped me he also was able to assist two other customers with easy fixes. I was very impressed with Richard and the store!

I went to AutoZone at 7729 Westheimer yesterday. There was corrosion on the battery in my car. A young man worked tirelessly cleaning the corrosion off & then told me it was a FREE service of AutoZone. I did not get his name but he was a very nice Hispanic gentleman, young and wore glasses. He was WONDERFUL I hope you can pinpoint him as I wanted to tip him and he said no. GREAT GUY!!

I was driving in a bad rainstorm, and stopped at the AutoZone in Tunica, MS by the casinos for windshield wiper blades. The gentleman that helped me was amazing and he saved me a lot of frustration and took care of me right away. I tried to offer him a tip, even put it in his pocket And he said no it's my job and in this day and time you don't really find that much I don't know the gentleman's name but I really appreciate what he did. I'm going to be straight up. I work for autozone and it's horrible. There was a girl who worked there who literally was trying to steal my store manager's job out from under him. He did nothing about it and let her run the show because he is lazy. Then she would also take to harassing me and other employees, he would just tell us all to ignore it because we don't have to listen to her while hes giving her all the power to do this period she would come into work High, Brag about it and then snort pills in my boss's office. She would threaten to quit and walk out in the middle of her shift whenever she did not get her way. You know where she is now? She got transferred instead of fired, promoted to assistant store manager and got a raise. This company is a joke but at the same time I can't leave it right now until I get my health issues figured out. I have also had experiences where I have gone to work barely able to work but my boss won't let me leve, keep in mind I was very sick and this has happened more than once, he would not let me leave because he didn't want to come in and cover for me. Yet he Braggs about how much money he would make when he has to cover for any of us who cannot do our shift. Anybody who is looking to work on autozone, save yourself the mental strain and don't.

I recently had an interview for hiring at yours in Twin Lakes Washington location I arrive probably 10 minutes before my scheduled interview and I waited 45 minutes after my scheduled interview time for the DM Juan come to find out he was in his truck for that 45 min on facebook I only found this out after asking a worker they said he's been in his truck I want out to look and sure enough he's on his phone truck running playing on face book on his laptop That is totally unacceptable and unprofessional from what I've heard from the employees there this is a regular thing he pulls

Hi I am a former employee at autozone. Worst place I've ever worked for. They didn't pay me for training. Before I got the job they said it's paid training. Also they pay very minimum wage. Pressure employees if they don't sell enough. I just want my paid training and the payroll told me it's not their problem. So sick of fighting for money I worked for.

I'm an employee out of store 0011 in dyersburg TN. With my time here I have noticed a great bunch of management except for one. Michael has a very poor management skill, he has shown very poor professional attitude. He will miss use his management status with lower employees with situations he does not feel like doing. He treat employees poorly. Everyone including management feels he should not be an employee of AUTOZONE. He will sit and talk to his friends and completely ignore customers. He has friends help him behind the counter to find products. He does fraudulent returns for friends. He and his friends are loud and they make a seen that drives away customers. I have had to do discounts to make up for his actions to try and keep customers. He makes it known to lower position employees that they have to do what he says and he does nothing. I have had to completely run to store on my own during a busy time so he can talk to his friends and it is an inconvenience for him to answer the phone and gives customers an attitude so they will hang up so he can get back to his friends. I have made a request to not work with him because last time I did I almost quit and I like working there. I was recently retired from the army as a staff sergeant so I know how to lead several people in the most stressful times, and he is no leader. He treats this job as a waste of his time and will give customers wrong information so they will leave and he can get back to his friends that have no intent of buying anything. He give them discounts and will not let anyone help them. He has tried to put me down in front of customers like I don't know what I'm doing and he is wrong. I have an associates degree in automotive and I'm half way through my associates degree in business management. He has no place in parts sales. He is a poor manager and hinders this company.

As An Employee At A Autozone Store I Will Be Leaving Autozone As An Employee To Take Another Job With A Two Dollar An Hour Decrease In Hourly Wages ... I Was Always Told If You Do Not Have Anything Good To Say Do Not Say Anything ... Have A Great Day

Posted by Anonymous

as an autozone employee, I can tell you the company hires bodies not individuals with auto mech knowledge. It is very discouraging trying to provide good service and information to customers, as someone that knows first hand how to rebuild engines and trannies, when your fellow employees can't even change a wiper blade or understand which side of a vehicle is "left" or "right". In defense of my fellow employees, numerous customers come in each day and cannot even tell you what kind of vehicle they just drove there in! It is not our responsibility to be able to know every single Obamaphone number you have used for your warranty info. Remember your phone numbers and addresses if you want autozone to locate your files. Personally, I will not sell a customer something they don't need no matter what push is going on...I live on a budget also, but don't hold me responsible for selling you the wrong part based on you giving me the wrong info. Know what you need BEFORE you come in or go to a repair shop first. Required info, year, make, model, and engine size.

I am a former employee of AutoZone who was let go because I was honest and admitted to making a mistake for which I did pay the seven dollars myself. Because of addmitting to the mistake I was told that I was not trustworthy and let go. I was a Commercial Manager on the Central coast of California and because I was trying to increase the commercial share of the market I made a mistake. My area had the highest increase 39% in sales. When I tried to contest my termination I was ignored and never received any responce.

..as a store manager I watched a girl walk UP and DOWN the air conditioning aisle for 5 mins looking for something. When the customer was looking impatient I asked if I could help. He had a part number for AC spark plugs and needed 6 AC plugs R44tsx. I got them, rung him up, appologized, shook his hand, and sent him on his way...then I told the girl to stop looking for his plugs.

..now that I have you attention..HERES THE REAL DEAL!

Well. You are all right. I worked in the stores for 9 years. I already knew about auto parts and was ASE certified b4 I came there so I really only had to be trained on their computer system and retail ways. I have seen the system go from a DOS type green screen to the new mess they call Znet which is like windows. To defend the idiot that has the mouth (I would have fired him long ago), the computer lookup is only as good as the information that is programmed into it. It's seriously 80% right at best. The known correct items are listed at top but if you don't have the know how to read between the lines, the customer will get the wrong parts. It's retail. Look it up at home and bring it with you is your best bet.

As a store manager you are correct. They DO NOT hire people based on what they know about car parts, only if they can sell...ie: customer service skills. Everything is based on WITTDTJR or what it takes to do the job right. This is the tactic that they train "zoners" into UPSELLING. Every go into a zone and try to buy 5qts of oil and a filter, without getting the second degree for not buying an air filter, or Lucas fuel injection cleaner? How about that $5 oil drain pan and useless funnel, handcleaner, and a roll of towels. And the big one. PACKETS! These are the little foil pouches that cost maybe a nickel to make but they add on to your sale because they sell them at $1.29 each. You DONT need BRAKE LUBE. This is where the clueless counterperson will scriptedly sell it to you (with or without your knowledge) to get their points...and the REAL ASE Certified will ASK you if you need a REAL permatex spray brake quiet can whereas you can use it for the next 15 jobs. Employees are TRACKED with reports on how many packets of headlight grease (and other packets) did they sell for every pack of lightbulbs. Another useless item to make a buck. Was there grease on it when you removed it? I didn't think so. Ever walk into a store to buy...say...a $30 air filter and $30 in wipers for $60 and they guy says I'll take care of you...and they ring up like $45 in fuel cleaner or a pack of headlight bulbs and 15 packets? I've seen it, done it, promoted it, trained into it, and this is the way a person pads their "report" for the next days readings. ITS CHEATING and ITS the AUTOZONE way.
Autozone Will take care of the customer AFTER a problem arises. Just a quick complaint to a district manager will get you a $20 gift card or more. AND USE THIS INFO!! ALL grey shirts (management) are very afraid of someone calling a higher up. The management is trained to take care of the customer no matter what BEFORE the customer can call a district manager.

Did you know that some guy fixing your car in the parking lot, working out of his trunk, probably has a commercial account and will get the parts cheaper than you. I mean, he's a legitimate Federal Tax number on file reseller and shop right?
Those brake rotors you paid $48 a piece for... he's going to use the receipt, return them, and rebuy them under HIS account for $25 each. Don't believe me? Hopefully you put them under your phone number when you bought them? See if that transaction is still active and un-returned in a few weeks. When it is...complain that some bogus employee is running though hundreds of warranty files and doing fake returns for your parts. That battery you bought 4 years ago? Probably returned for cash by now.

On a better note, the whole check engine light gag that they do will at least give the customer their diagnostic code for free. Write it down, take it, and thank them. Now go home and google the code. DO NOT stick around for the whole speech and speal about how your lean code needs an egr valve or your misfire calls for new plugs. If you don't understand what your doing, chances are you shouldn't be under your hood in the first place. Go to a reputable mechanic instead. Do you go to the doctor and say "I'm just tired" and he says YEP, you have such and such, here's a script. NO. He diagnoses the problem first, which stems back to the first part of the story.... SO AFTER THAT GIRL IS DONE LOOKING FOR HER AC PLUGS, MAYBE SHE CAN GO HOOK UP WIRES TO YOUR CAR BATTERY OR EXPENSIVE COMPUTER AND TELL YOU WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR CAR.

ps. Unfortunatley I have to report that although Advance Auto's computers are about 5 years behind the rest of the competitors, they are starting to follow suit with the whole packet, upsell, make a buck thing like AUTOZONE.

I worked for AutoZone and I must say you people are real tools. Number one all of you think the employees are techs which they are not. Some of us understand how the parts work and others how to install... But many of us have no technical back ground whatsoever. And dealing with people like you. Customer. Service. How about not being a complete @ss to the person helping you. Get a job and take my place then you'll see things through the employees eyes. and finally be smart and make sure what you buy is what you need and don't install it and try to return it. Would you want me to bring back an open product to your store and tell you I didn't need it? I'm sure you'd laugh at me. Use your common sense or lack their of. oh final thing the corporate office doesn't give a hoot about your problem they just make the store employees fix it because they don't wanna hear your mouth.

I used to work at Autozone and it really wasn't all that bad. I think you people complaining because of how they treated ignorant customers need to get a reality check.
There are a**hole customers out there, I've dealt with them. Now I didn't scream at them but they've sure as hell screamed at me and I've needed a manager to tell them to get out of the store and never come back. When you have a customer screaming at YOU about how 'There's only one f*cking Chevy smallblock, and it's American so it doesn't use Liters!!!', I'd like to see how you stay cool and collected and don't ask the customer to leave.

Don't base where you shop on how a customer is acting, or how some of our policies are. If we can't get you a part or return a part, sorry, there's absolutely nothing we can do, it's BEYOND our control. Call customer service if you want, they probably can't do much either short of kissing your a** and getting us in trouble for circumstances we can't change.

I'm glad I don't work there anymore, the customers made my job a living hell. I had to deal with sexism, just plain STUPID people complaining about the most inane things, angry people who despite my soft voice I could not console... It was horrible.

HOW COME A MULTY BILLION COMPANY LIKE AUTOZONE DOES NOT GIVE ITS EMPLOYEES EXCEPT THE STORE MANAGERS AND THE ABOVE CROOKS BONUS AND THE REST OF THE EMPLOYEES GET NOTHING?

As an employee of autozone in pontiac michigan. (mini detroit) you have to have ALOT of patience when dealing with the people that come in here. EVERYDAY we have theft. people that walk over to headlights. take them off the shelf and try to return them for money or in store credit. and when you refuse to do so they get pissed because they stole from us. i had this one lady come in *(without the theft alarm going off by the door)* grabbed a head light and tried to return it. and i told her i needed a receipt. so she turned around and walked out *(this time the theft alarm went off.) a minute later a guy came in with the same bulbs and once again the alarm went off. so i went into the back and told my store manager what he was going to do. long story short the black guy got mad at US for not returning unpurchased lights and broke them then spit on my store manager. if you customers realized what crap we go through ALL day and still try to be as helpful and friendly then you would have nothing to complain about. its hard to help hundreds of customers that tell us the wrong vehicle and give them the parts for the vehicle they said and returned them pissed off. or the idiots that try to return OEM parts after buying ours. were not stupid. we look for these things. and why would we want to be super friendly to you after you steal, and try to return bull ***t. but my most favorite thing is when customers come in needing a part and have no clue what there vehicle is and expect us to know what it is. we shouldnt have to go out side to see what it is. nor should we have to wait when we have a long line for you to call someone and ask. i know some autozoners are idiots too. but in my store. we all know our parts and products and even after all the harrassment and threats, thefts, and crap that they pull we still are as nice as we can be. my asst. store manager gave a pissed off customer 50 dollars out of his wallet because someone got pissed off cuz they wanted to return an obviously used part that was used for a long time. and by the way. a warranty doesnt mean you get your money back when the part f***s up on you. it means to swap for a new one. maybe if some of you guys read this then you would have a new understanding for it and stop treating us so bad cuz you dont know what you need or what you have. and we deal with alot. youtube autozone prank calls and you will see how much crap we deal with.

As an employee of this company, I will try to explain why our service lacks substance. This company makes hundreds of millions in profit each year and the largest profit killer is LABOR. So, in order to keep profits high, they reduce labor to a bare minimum and expect the same amount of work and high quality customer satisfaction. Our employees are scheduled to work 5 days a week, with two days off, but rarely two days off back to back, and we usually only get 32-35 hours. To compound the problem, high volume stores are purposely understaffed to generate higher profit margins. These stores take up the slack for the slower volume stores that have the same amount of employees. We all have our limits for stress. All it takes to stress an employee is to be called outside to check/replace a light bulb when there is 7 customers waiting for help and the phone is ringing off the hook and only two employees on the clock in the store. Unless youve worked in this type of enviroment, it would be hard for you to comprehend. As a customer, you just want to be waited on promptly and professionally. But most people nowadays dont have much patience anymore and soon get angry when we pick up the phone 3 times instead of helping them. I dont blame them! How does it feel to work in this situation? Imagine two people trying to dig a hole that 8 people keep filling back up with dirt. Some people, including those in our own company, will say that these are just excuses to a lack of work ethic or pure laziness. I say truth and reality are not excuses, they are just simple facts that have to be dealt with. Our company expects us to be knowledgable, courteous, available, and effective at all times. They insist that customer service is top priority, but dont give us the man power to reach the level they expect. And, just to add insult to injury, they love it when the unemployment rate is so high because they can demand more from us and not have to worry about people quitting their jobs. Look at this companys stock and how it has grown over the last year. It is a direct result of getting more work from less people. This is why corporations are bad for America. They overwork us, underpay us, ruin our social lives, and threaten us constantly to gain the most profits for people who rarely work at all. Just my opinion...thanks for reading!
