I am trying to get a concern address by Duke Enegy corporate office about an issue I am having with one of its conglomerates , dpu utilities providers in Orangeburg , South Carolina. For consecutive months my ultility bill has been nearing $ 500 per month. Dpu said it is because of my usage ,but I do not think that is accurate. They have no reasonable answer for it . My service has been interrupted twice and my elderly sick parent lived me and I had to find an alternate source of heating to insure her health. A technician has come out and check my gas meter but he claimed it was working properly. So what is the reason for my high bills? Are they misreading the meter readings. Every time I question them I receive a different answer . It is ridiculous. Please assist me if you can If not please direct me to where I can get help .

Duke energy gave me a credit back in November told me I did not have to pay for November and December bc of that credit now on the 19th they charged me and said I have to pay it because they "made a mistake" giving me that credit the credit I got for overpaying on my bill. This is crazy. They charged me more then my monthly bill bc I apparently missed two months when I didn't and all my payments show the credit

If you can move into an area where you don't need to use Duke Energy, please don't! For the last month our power has been out weekly. They have no rhime or reason as to why they keep turning the areas power off! Some of us work from home! Last month the power was out for hours 3 times each Friday! Why pay for this service?

Duke energy sucks they lie to you and tell you that they don't have non-smart meters only to find out they do. There is a $96 charge, only to tell me it will it could be waived and then when you get the bill they lie and tell me they can't waive it. but if I want to switch back to a smart meter they will not charge me a few to switch back. during a hurricane I don't lose power but a small rainstorm I lose power and they magically tell you exactly to the minute what time your power is to turn on that's because they probably control your power from the main office. Duke Energy jacks up the prices and say you used more during the summer. In 10 years living in Florida never had a bill for $225 in one month in a small house. Some probably got a bonus making is pay for it.

Worst company ever they talk about customer service when they do not care only sitting behind phone reading their scripts of how they understand and they apologize for the inconvenience.. but it means nothing. It's all about money the rich get richer off the poor and the theives they protect.!

Everything about this company is bad. They do not care about their customers for they have a monopoly on the area and therefore they do not need to care what the customer is having to pay, or if there is a problem. And when you do have an issue it's always always your issue and your fault not that of the Duke power company.

In 3 years here in Matthews NC we have lost power 9 times!! During holidays lost numerous plants with no heat.This is terrible service just to please rich developers. Odd so much invested above ground when power should be placed below ground! Grid can not handle this over development, Mayor and All commissioners should take that into account. Rich developers will make there money and leave residents with all the problems. Make sure you vote for candidates that are for we the people not we the rich developers!!!

I recommend you research the website and you will find they give out 20k grants(free money) to NGO's who disperse YOUR money to people in this country illegally. Duke had the nerve to send out emails asking people to donate money to help others pay for energy costs. WHAT? How about the CEO donate HER wealth and lower the cost where it is affordable for ALL citizens! Please contact Duke, your insurance commissioner and Governor DeSantis and file a formal complaint. This is absolutely appaling and unethical on every level!!!
PS. I'm a Florida resident where it gets 95 plus degrees!

Yesterday morning our power went out in the living room only. I called Duke Energy and they said someone would contact us. We waited all day and finally at 4:30 I called to see if anyone was going to come. The person I talked to said that a technician was here at 9:00 AM and checked the voltage from the outside (we never saw or heard anything) and that everything was fine.
She said that since it was a problem with inside wiring we would need to call an electrician. I asked her why no one had told us that, and then told her that we had the Home Protection Plan. She then said, "oh, yes you do" and connected us with that department. Somebody, or probably even more than one person dropped the ball. We still have not been contacted.

I don't think its right that you won't reimburse us for our food.i think you should split the team in half some go south some go north so everyone can get power instead of making us North people wait 4 to 6 days before we get power.that just isn't right.if u won't reimbu

I was driving up Hilltop in greensboro nc. Truck 27221 pull out of the terminal ay A high rate of speed. We go thru the light of hilltop & fairfax,truck 27221 pulled in front of Me with very little space as if he was the only one on the road. To keep up with his employee. So i pulled back in front of him & stopped to get his truck # (27221) With No concern as he tried to leave he had the nerve to smile like I'm nothing. Is this the type of person your employing.

They don't work with people we asked to do another payment arrangements but they said no it's in the summer and I have asthma and I need my annualized treatment and they said there isn't anything they can do so yea they need to be more empathetic with people that have mental health understand we are far behind on our electric but we've been trying to play catch-up with y'all, but y'all won't work with nobody don't deserve a store at all. I don't even deserve to be in business because you don't know how to work with people

We have had Duke Energy for 21 Years now. The bill was in my father in laws name and hwen he passed we got it changed over into my husbands name. It was the longest process. Then we have my father in laws house still and turned off the power from inside and were told that it would only about $12 a month. We are continuing to get $ 30 bills and everytime we call we get different answers from different agents. Once we got the name change finally done they changed our account number without our knowledge. We were paying our bills to an account that was closed and our money was never getting returned. After inquiring about the payments we were told that they could not give us the payments back nor could they credit the new account number. We are still fighting with them and they are threatening to turn off our electric. Worst company and worst customer service. If there was a way to get new electric service we would in a heartbeat! I'm so over companies thinking that they can treat everyone like crap and get away with it.

There has been a live wire in my backyard still attached to my house for 10+ hours. I've called 5 times. Everyone keeps telling me that my "ticket been updated as an emergency" but no one ever follows up or comes to my home. It's 10pm at night, I originally reported this at 1:00pm, hope my house doesn't burn down in the night and if it does, Duke will be responsible. Also I hate the customer service people that keep telling me that "there are plenty of other people in dangerous situations just like me". Real comforting. Thanks for creating a monopoly so I can't go to anyone else. Don't even get me started on my power bill.

Duke Energy has a Terrible customer service. You cannot even deal with only one person when setting up a multiple commercial accounts. They will suggest to contract through email and still will not get result that you looking for. They asked you to schedule a phone call meeting and they wont call. Then they will send you an email saying I missed the meeting. What a joke....

I cannot stand Duke Energy! They are now asking for yet another rate hike totaling $48 Million. During a time when we are paying the highest ever rates already. Since this winter wasn't as cold and brutal as expected, Duke did not make the record profits they had hoped for, so they will just raise rates to make up for it. Total Bullsh*t! Duke doesn't even perform their own work anymore. I have watched a sub-contractor working on powerlines near my house for over a month and several Duke employees standing around on the ground just watching the contractor work!

Appreciate all the repair lineman did to restore power Friday night 3-31-4-1 morning . In the dark. In the rain and wind these men worked to restore power. ETA was 9:01am. And at 7:49sm. POWER!!!

I think Duke Energy is great. I don't think they can controll price raises. My bill is higher each month and I sent them a email to find out if I had something wrong and I am positive they will get back to me on Monday. Please people b patient and just talk to them. I've received stellar service from Duke. I also admire the hard work in restoring power to those who lost it during Ian. Its' because of this that I'm also talking about a serious spoof problem. I received a fraudulent call from someone claiming to be a Duke Representative, even a legitimate number came up on my cell phone. He claimed that he had an order to disconnect my service. I hung up and called Duke and was told my bill was not even due until Nov 1, 2022. I shared my story with many others who also received false calls and e-mails. I contacted Bay News 9 and asked that we warn about fraud attempts and encourage you to do so too. Because of your stellar service I don't want Duke's name used as spoof.

He was very attentive to detail and explained testing the system to assure no leaks in the system. He was concerned for our safety- making sure that were no potential leaks. We live in Bloomington Indiana. Had a limb pull down our service. Adam showed up and went above and beyond.A+ . After having an electrician reattach the meter Chris showed up to reattach the service.. both were great! Good people make a difference to your customers. Please let them know!

I recently moved to Florida from Central NY and in setting up service where I was renting and house hunting, to setting up service at my new home, I found the customer service representatives helpful, informative, and courteous - even humorous! - in the calls that I made to set up and then check on the beginning of my service. A huge difference from the horrible customer service with National Grid back in NY!

Great service, quick and friendly. Good value for the additional service fee on the lighting/wiring add on to our standard electric service. I had an issue with a light fixture continuously blowing a bulb & they came out (sent someone out) & my issue was fixed immediately. Thanks! On Sept. 16, My bill always ran between $45-79 monthly. One month it rises to $412.00. Duke energy says they'll visit to analyze what happened. I called agencies to help me and no luck. I am worried, however the Duke energy representative express that since I'd never was late... he'll "Edward" was going to need me to breathe as o he can help with an extension to avoid disconnection. I appreciate this of him, especially some of us who don't have any source of help from anywhere. Thank you

I really like duke power I have never had a problem with paying my bill. And there customer service is top notch very intelligible when it comes to me paying so to all those hating on duke just needs to learn it's your fault not theres
