Netgear forces you to buy a tech package over the phone after they disable one of your routers, without cause, and then sign you up for a $90 recurring subscription without your permission. If you try to contact them, all of the customer service representatives are sitting in the same room and won't 1) get you in contact with a manager (none actually exist) 2) delete your account 3) delete your payment information 4) tell you have your information was set up for this charge in the first place Their online portal also doesn't give you any of theNetgear forces you to buy a tech package over the phone after they disable one of your routers, without cause, and then sign you up for a $90 recurring subscription without your permission. Additionally, they promise to send follow up emails detailing your cancelation request but, surprise, none of them actually do. If you look at any of their support sites or any general online forums regarding netgear, it becomes clear that this entire operation is fraudulent, as hundreds of "customers" have been scammed into the same services and trapped in relentless billing cycles. Their customer service representative clearly in on the entire scam.

I don't know where to start. My husband and I had terrible service last night. 3-4 hours of talking on the phone and getting no where. They messed up our internet and router just to try to get into the app.
My husband and I had a NETGEAR router when we first moved in together 4-5 years ago. It lasted us up until we had to move recently. We decided to buy a new one and had new internet service provider. My husband was able to get into his app with the old router to update it and keep it running. Now we weren't able too. My husband tried for weeks to fix it himself then finally gave up and called NETGEAR customer service. I don't know what all went down in those 3 hours but all we wanted was to get logged into the app. The guy didn't speak English and was getting upset with us when we couldn't understand him. He raised his voice and interrupted my husband when my husband was asking questions. Some questions he didn't answer. He made us do all these things with our router. In the middle of it we had no WiFi and our WiFi name was changed and had no password to get into it. We also think the guy told us false info. There is a protection plan for viruses and different things that's supposed to keep our system safe. We paid 250 for a five year plan but he also told us that's how we get into our app. So we paid it because we needed into the app like he said. The guy made us pay through PayPal. Why didn't we pay through NETGEAR? That's where I'm confused. At the end he made my husband get on his computer just to notify the guy we had no internet even though we already told him because our devices had no internet. Then he told my husband he reset the app password and we had to call our internet service provider to hook the internet back up. We were so pissed this is how you try to get into the app.
We called our provider and it took him 30 minutes to help us get back up and running and he had to fix some problems the other guy made. He saved the night.
I don't think we will be buying a NETGEAR router again if we have to deal with that customer service again.

By far the baddest system to ever set up. I've never had problems like I've had when it comes to netgear. I will never promote it to anyone one I know nor will I ever use there products from here on our. Customer service is the be far the worst I've used and they don't even know their own software. -5 stars

They do not speak good english.all they talk about is $ money even when your warrentu is still good. Ac 1900 nighthawk I bought was pure junk,support is a 0. Went back to Comcast got there new gateway router .now 3 TV's 3 computers 2 ring cameras & 3 phones work great if I have a problem I just call Comcast & I can talk to some one. Get my problem fixed.rg psl fl.

I've got a R6700 - AC1750 NETGEAR router that will not connect to the NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK APP. Impossible to find any solutions on the NETGEAR site. No contact info unless you are in the current warranty/service contract window. So Sorry!

After 4 hrs on Computer I was left with my computer trashed and can't get help. India has Tech who don't know zero and refuse to call back . Saturday 15 th called back and was rudely hung up on . Now I'm left without Wifi and my Computer Wrecked because of losers who don't know shot . I was even told only two devices will work on my 500.00 Orbi , I am smarter than that . Guess I'm off to spend hundreds at the Local Computer Shop repairing my computer. Beware of these worthless techs . They only have 24 positive reviews. Guess I should have read .

I sent them my router and satellite with 2 power cords due to them being defective. They sent me back 1 router no power cord. I'm missing 2 power cords and a satellite. Customer service lied to me hungup on me at least 6 different time. Never called me back. The music they have on hold pisses u off too. I will contact fcc over this and make sure no one ever buys from your company

You changed the security questions and now I can't log in. You're tech was more interested in getting more info than necessary then helping. I have read you are difficult to manage online and thru tech support. Sad but true

Bounced around in India till i got so frustrated.

I wanted to config my router WITHOUT a modem present. Their online instructions says "Simple, you can configure without using a modem." STEP 4... CONNECT MODEM.

Could not get tech #6, to understand what i wanted to do. Nighthawk going in trash. Repurpose excercise failed.

Bought my nighthawk not even a year old and it does nothing and Netgear doesn't care about there customer which is bad. I use to love Netgear not anymore bye bye Netgear you use to be good maybe the best but now ur a joke and no one is laughing but you....

The Netgear customer support is non-existent. I bought a VERY expensive "whole home" Orbi system last year. I keep having problems with the Orbi quitting and coming back on. There is not one who I can even talk with there. I was told customer support only last for a year and then you are on your own. That is BS! I am selling my POS Orbi system and urge everyone to NEVER buy Netgear products.

Got a brand new router and had a problem, ended up fixing it by calling my ISP and figuring out it was a problem on there end. However netgear support tried to scam me for $125 fix that would not have fixed my actual problem

I purchased Netgear ORBI 3 unit kit from Amazon June 2020 and encountered issues from start. I patiently worked through service interruptions and 4/20/22 I was forced to pay $120 buy service contracts which promised if I encounter same issues three times, Netgear will replace the unit. Since April, I've made over 22 calls to this are h support, finall two months ago they supposedly issued request for RMA (replacement) but was given every excuse possible including blaming Amazon for selling separate devices as a kit despite sending them re kept , serial #s etc. 6 times. After being lied to and treated like an idiot, I finally called Amazon just to inform them. It took just ONE call and Amazon gave me full refund after TWo years for all the frustration..
SHAME ON YOU NETGEAR! Now I called to cancel my service contract and still got the runaround from people that seem to be working from overseas. There is NO customer service for Netgear! All you get is tech support that read off of a script or hung up on you and I never got a call from a supposed supervisor. I'm throwing away all my Netgear items after hearing our experiences all my family and friends are doing the same. . I'm buying Eero at least is backed by Amazon!

Your item netgear modem supplied by Telstra is crap.
You need to supply an antanna if this item does not have a good enough reception.
I payed nearly $400 and my reception rubbish.
Why should I have to pay another $100 to $300 to make this device work properly.
I expect resolution asap or I will ensure to tell anyone how useless this item is.

Netgear used to be a good company, but after purchasing a new modem/router and spending hours with tech support to try to get it working, I asked for a replacement but they insisted on spending more time troubleshooting. For the nearly $400 list price, this should be plug and play, And when asking for a refund after they wouldn't replace it, they have now gone completely silent and do not respond at all. I will never again buy anything from Netgear, and will advise others to steer clear. This company should rightfully tank with these business practices.

Stupidest service ever. I have a Orbi 750 which cost me around $300, and less than an year old.

I have a connectivity issues where they says it's been 90 days and cannot support you untill you say for the troubleshooting.

What is the use of me buying the ORBI who cannot help customer for there expensive routers.

My ISP told me to contact Netgear to optimize my router. Netgear said they need to register the router. I immediately emailed everything needed to do that. What did Netgear do? Nothing. I never heard from them again, even after several follow up emails from me. No more Netgear products for me.

I have purchase the ORBI ROUTER and Satelite before 9 Months but after 3 months it started speed related problem i tried to resolve the issue by contacting Support Team they informed me that product need to be updated and they will have to replace the product but now after 6 months they did not pick up the product nor replaced it. Please do something in this regards as your support is getting worse and recommendation for your products are decreasing.

I can't transfer my subscription from an old router to a new one. Open a ticket with netgear support for 2 weeks now and no resolution. How can a business such as netgear have such horrible support?
