I absolutely hate your batteries. They have ruined, ruined so many of my things. I will never use your battery again I will use the Energizer lithium battery. Yes, I have to pay a lot but the things that I have lost due to your sorry batteries have cost way more than those lithium batteries cameras, household utensils, toothbrushes, you name it ruined thanks to your leaky batteries. If there was a class act lawsuit against you, I would be the first one in line on it. Shame on you DORA sale. Your batteries used to be the best batteries to put in your stuff in the last few years. I don't know what you've done but they're sorry. Sorry sorry pieces of junk.

I have been having issues with hearing
aid batteries lasting about a week, decided to try Duracell based on claims
that are made.The Duracell batteries
were found to be inferior lasting only
five days,so the claims made about
superior is absolute rubbish.Will not
be purchasing any more

I have a rarely used Duracell 500 flashlight. It stopped working. Impossible to reach Duracell customer service

Bought a Duracell auto battery that lasted about a year and a half. The store refused to honor the "full 2 year warranty". Complained to Duracell. They replied "For all inquiries regarding Duracell SLIU1RT batteries, including questions or compatibility issues, please contact our partner and distributor, Batteries Plus Bulbs, at (855) 298-0344." If their company name is on the product their customer service should not deny responsibility for the quality.

I PURCHASED 2 DURCELL 1000 FLASH LIGHTS. ONE WORKS WELL. THE OTHER HAS CONTINUOUSLY run down the four batteries while off.
Is their a leakage problem with some of them?

I had just got home from buying batteries for a light input them in and the batter exploded. This is crazy.

I purchased a seiko wall clock in February 2020 and upon receipt placed a Duracell AA battery with an expiration date of March 2028 in it. About a week ago, it quit working; when I removed the battery, it was all wet and discolored. I replaced it with a new battery but the clock does not work. This clock cost me $47.00 plus and it is now worthless. What caused this battery to leak and destroy my clock? What can I do in the future so that this doesn't happen again?

Posted by Anonymous

Your batteries are junk! Every Duracell (yes, EVERY one) battery I have used, from AA to D cell have leaked. I have several destroyed flashlights, remotes, etc that now little more than junk because of your slip-shod, crap product.
I will never buy a Duracell battery again.

unable to get a response on your automated voice system.
I have purchased 512 hearing aid batteries, put one in each =hearing aid at the same time and one of them inevitably goes dead before the other. One may last as long as six hours longer,
which is inconvenient and uncomfortable.

Why the inconsistency? Is this due to quality control?

In the past, I used Duracell in cameras and they worked well. Now, they don't last 1/2 as long as they used to. They need replacing after two or three uses. There must be a new design made by the bean counters. Bye Bye Duracell.

I bought a charger-station and 4 rechargeable batteries in the name of recycling, After 1 time of recharging 2 batteries the station simply stopped working and it's not because i'm using it the wrong way. I mean! there's only 1 way of inserting the batteries and only 1 power cord to connect, Terrible crappy product and a total waste of $60.

But by frustrating their customers they can probably get them to revert to their non-rechargeable batteries and earn more that way!!!.

What happened to Duracell? I used Duracell batteries dated Mar. 2028 in a computer mouse and a keyboard organ. Two out of eight leaked within a month of use. I was able to salvage the organ but had to scrap the mouse. Going back to buying the cheap brand batteries. I guess Duracell doesn't care about quality anymore.

Real Crappy Batteries, Leaked While In A Pack, Stored In A Dry Airtight Place. 12 Pack Aaa Batteries Leaked In 2 Years While It Boasts 10 Years Warranty. Called Customer Service And All They Did Was Sent Me A $10 Coupon Which Bought Me 8 Pack Aaa. Also Had To Pay Tax $0.75 From Pocket, Drove To Store 5 Miles Spent 90 Minutes. What A Scam Of Return Policy. They Could Have Sent Me A Check.

Now I Buy Rayovac 10 Years Warranty And Runs Just As Good Or Better. Duracell Is Way Down In Quality.

I strongly urge all North American users of any battery type to stop using Duracell made batteries immediately. I have had to order every remote in my house, car "garage door openers", electric candles, noise cancelling head phones and the list is endless. I believe these batteries are now manufactured in China, and there is no telling what waste by-products are added to the batteries that leak out mostly on an immediate timeframe basis. For example, I placed two AA batteries (duracell no doubt) into a small candle and within hours I picked up the LED candle to find the top of my Pottery Barn night stand had the stain completely removed. In order to remove the stain, and return it to bare wood makes me wonder what is leaking into the children's mouth or cross contamination from oozing batteries into all kinds of private body parts internal and external devices. I will be filing a report with the EPA, there are millions of these cheaply made batteries coming from China. The Duracell of yesteryear is long gone folks. I will pay 8 times the cost to go to batteries (panasonic is great but pricey) that don't leak in my house, car, headset, toys, remotes, smoke detectors etc. I can't afford to replace the gear that this product destroys. Every single electronic piece is destroyed, thanks for going to China. Forget the 10 year warranty, and I can reassure you all, leadership at Duracell would never use these leaking batteries around there kids, pets, and especially on devices that may be inserted, place on or around the human body.. If Mattel had to recall 30 million toys because of lead in the toys paint, imagine what is stripping the stain off of the furniture pieces. Ummmmm carcinogenic I bet. Not using Duracell ever again.Tell your friends and neighbors, I will watch and see if Duracell takes down the ugly truth with this post.. Oh ya, forget calling the customer service line, they have bigger problems coming....

Duracell batteries are just very, very bad product now. Unable to contact customer service. All links go to a recording. Battery leaked in package, supposedly 10 year guarantee. They expire in 2023, another 5 years left but no help from Duracell.

September 18, 2018
I just opened two 12-packs of Duracell AAA batteries that had all burst and were leaking badly. Expiry date is Dec. 2024. The packages were labelled GUARANTEED 10 YEARS STORAGE'. I called the Duracell so-called Customer Service line a dozen times and got nothing but automated messages. No real human was available by pressing '˜0', and no instructions available regarding replacement under warranty. I returned the spoiled batteries to the store and was told my only option was to deal with Duracell. So, now I am screwed out of $40.00 worth of batteries. Duracell's guarantee isn't worth a small bucket of last week's dog dung. I have experience with no-name brands of batteries available at grocery and dollar stores. They perform just as good, don't leak, and cost half the price. The Duracell brand's performance and reliability has hit an all time low in the industry. Maybe they are being made in some place like North Korea?

I had an expensive ($200 +) camera flash damaged by corrosion of a Duracell AA battery. The flash had four batteries. Three of them were undamaged and fully charged. The fourth was corroded at the positive terminal. The batteries, dated 2025, were in the flash for about six months, stored in a dry closet. I sent the flash and the batteries to Duracell. After about twelve weeks I received a letter saying that the damage was "rust, caused by abnormal levels of humidity or moisture", not a fault of the battery. This doesn't make sense, because there was no rust anywhere except at the positive terminal of the one battery. Not a happy resolution.

I didn't speak with anyone. This is my first contact with your company.
I purchased some hearing aid batteries size #10 with an expiration date of 3/20. There are 8 per plastic box and, I think 3 boxes to a package, tho I may be wrong about that.
Anyway, in 1 of the boxes, at least 6 of the 8 batteries are dead.
I think in other boxes there were 1 or 2 defective, but 6 out of 8 is too many and you should know about it, and hopefully I will be re-imbursed.

My husband and I went to Costco about a year ago and bought two of your Duracell 1000 flashlights.. I loved them but neither of them worked very long.. The switches broke in both of them.. I still have them.. (Like their suddenly guna work) lol but can't bring myself to throw them away.. Michele

I do not believe that your company has now potentially stripped small children from one of the ONLY innocent figures that we have left... Showing Santa Clause as a bum in a trailer because he didnt buy your product? Has no one in your ridiculous corporation ever read the story? Santa takes care of all children equally, and I am starting a petition and have contacted a lawyer to stop the hatred that your company is spewing. You should be ashamed, but I imagine that not only do you not care, but probably think that it is funny.

I bought a nice telescopic lens Duracell flashlight that came with Duracell batteries. Well it stopped working early so I checked the batteries and one came out and the other one is stuck in the flashlight. This is wrong and now I have to throw the entire flashlight away. Money down the drain. What does Duracell have to say about this??

Posted by JnLA

customer service is inept and ads to the frustration. To make matters worse after lengthy hold times while speaking to get faulty batteries replaced the call dropped. The courtesy of a returned call is also absent from Duracells manners. When you have a customer calling due to a faulty product, a company has an opportunity to cement a relationship and keep a customer for life or alienate the customer further and loose them for ever. The representative should be friendly and make the customer feel as if the company cares about their business and has pride with the product. Anything that rubs a customer the wrong way is sure to lose customers.

Now for the product. I have used Duracell for better than 30 years. They used to be absolutely the best. Not so anymore. They don't last, and they leak even in simple devices like a flashlight which is not used often. The often don't reach their good until date.
My last purchase was for Kirkland brand. They are superior and less expensive than Duracell - presumably due to quality control.

I purchased a package of 60 AA batteries about a month ago. The box says Dec. 2023 would be life expire. I have had to throw out 3 batteries as of today. I thought they need to know this. I called and talked with a fast talking rude guy. The questions, if how I store them and even where I purchased them was my fault as to the issue. Made me count how many was in the box still. Then told me Walmart is the best place to buy them. Well....then why is Duracell shipping them to other stores? If I've had 3 leaking in this box less then a month....there is gonna be more! I suggest we all buy another brand. If they won't warranty there junk and blame customer for how and where they purchased them, its time to buy good batteries somewhere else! Again, this box if 60 supposed to last til at least 2023 aren't making it a month. This customer service rep. needs to be booted also!

I am very, very disappointed with the reliability of two flashlight that take 3 C cell batteries lcombo i bought at Costco about a year ago. I put, what i expected to be q quality flashlight in my wifes car for her safety. I am glad that I had occasion to go into her glovebox tonight. I tested the flashlight, and it didn't work. I proceded to bring it in the houae to change the batteries. The Duracell Copper Tops were all corroded in the barrell. I tried unsuccessfully for 30 minutes to try and recover the usability of the flashlight. I could not. That prompted me to check the light in my truck. Batteries were dead but none had burst open. I am the Chief Engineer of a hotel and faithfully buy your batteries. I now wonder if i am making a mistake. Unfortunately i cannot attach photo because i would love to show you. I would like the flashlight replaced.

Thank You,

Al Cha

I purchased Duracell Optimum AA 12 pack for new Trail Cam. When I opened them 2 batteries had white corrosion on them. As per the labeling on the batteries, I called the 800 # and explained the issue. They asked a few questions, said they would replace them in 12-15 days. 3 days later I had the replacements and they sent more than the original package contained. That's Customer Service!, Thank you to Kevin, the agent I spoke with.

Dear Customer Service,
I would like to leave the best of ratings to Ms. Valery Clayton for helping me out with a defective flashlight battery pack issue. Now I am able to use this flashlight with no problems. This replacement was also sent very quickly so I am also grateful for that as well. Again, thank you Ms. Clayton for your help.

Best Regards,
Kevin Tarasawa

I've purchased Duracell batteries for many years as well as other brands. Duracell was the benchmark of batteries for many years . They were usually worth the difference in price due to their superior quality and their Made in USA policy. However I recently purchased a multi pack of AA and a multi pack of AAA Duracell batteries at my local Sams Club with expiration dates of December 2025. When I put 4 of the AAA in my TV remote it wouldn't work. Upon removing them and a closer inspection I found one of them had leaked in shipping. I contacted Duracell and they are sending me a certificate to replace the batteries. This could have happened with any brand but it's customer service that rectifies the problems that do come up that makes the difference to me. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and continue to purchase their products because of how they handled this situation.

Talked to your Cosco representative, she was extremely helpful in replacing one end cap for a 500 lumen flashlite and replaced both of my 1000 lumen units in which both switches went bad. Thank you very much for your help, I am very pleased

You searched for: I am a deaf person and have been buying your batteries for over 25 years for my hearing aides. This means I am your customer for life. I usually buy the 13 size in the plastic 8 packs (3 per card 24 batts.) Two weeks ago I bought a pinwheel pack of two wheels of 8. Usually each battery lasts about three days, maybe 4. I use blue tooth devices of all kinds to hear so your batteries get a workout. The double pin wheel card is marked date 10 2017. In the double package about 65% of the batteries lasted maybe one minute, and a few others lasted 3 hours to half a day. I will never buy the double pin wheel again. How to you return ear batteries to a store, I used them all because you have to when your deaf.

I had a radio that Duracell batteries leaked in a destroyed it. An email to customer service was answered in less than 24 hours and the issue was resolved by them sending a coupon to replace the leaking batteries and a check to replace the radio. All communication was responded to in a timely manner.
