I took a 3 seater and 2 seater couch to the Renton WA store only 2 years old in excellent new condition baring in mind they get items for free, they took the 2 seater and wouldn't take the 3 just because it had a small mark on one of the seats totally washable as custion covers can be machine washed. Goodwill are getting too choosey. Someone who can't afford a high street store price for new set would have been so grateful for that. I took it to the dump and they said that the couch looked brand new and we shouldn't dump it. But didn't have a choice as nowhere to store it. Goodwill Shame on you. I hope corporate reads this because they need to know what the Renton store is doing turning so much good stuff away. This is supposed to be a charity organization. So learn the meaning of the word Charity it's to help those in need. I'm never going to donate to goodwill again. I will offer in future for free on a notice board or Craigslist.

This organization as a whole can not be trusted. Right down to the employees. Use to shop in stores for years and that went to hell. Tried online which I never thought was a worse experience. No accountability across the board. More lost items, electronics that don't work, or their fall too is abandoned. You are actually better shopping with ebay where as a buyer you are covered in the event of fraud which seems to be common place with this organization. Just look at their Better Business Report where there is 10% resolved issues out of 100%. That pretty much says it all. What is abandoned is any morals anyone must have to work for this place. "Putting people to work" on the backs of others. That should be their moto. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down yet.

Went to goodwill today to get some books. Picked out 1 for the baby, 5 for my son, and 2 vintage cookbooks for my teenage daughter. My son is in 1st grade and can read simple sentences. I got him 4 Narwhal books that are for young readers(says it on the back of the books). The cashier said that 3 of the 4 books that where all from the same series where adult books. I told her "no these are childrens books and where in the childrens book section". Then proceeded to ring them up and told us the price of every other book and asking "you still wsnt it?".This women was so rude from the moment we walked in and every interaction we had with her. She kept making grunting noise under her breath like she was annoyed. After she walked away, I tried to talk to the other cashier and she came back over and gave nasty looks and grunt some more because I was telling the other cashier how we where overcharged and how rude that cashier was. This was in kernersville, nc 3/13/2024 The receipt says Dkirby was the sales rep. That women either needs to fix her attitude or find another job.

Goodwill is very expensive. These are donated items. I don't no how poor people can afford to shop at goodwill. I make good money and I have a hard time with their prices. Some of the clothes are stained and still won't lower the price. I shop for the half price items. I'm very afraid that goodwill will out price itself and have to close. I really hope not. I will never donate to goodwill. Because they don't help the poor.

Brought in a entertainment center to goodwill Darboy wi. Was in good shape strapped on my appliance dolly. The girl said we have to put this on our own dolly. Ok this is after it was inside. Take it back out and they put it on a flat cart .poor decision as it then was damaged. Poor policy and decision here.

I worked at the Goodwill in Sierra Vista arizona. I continue to shop there. But as of late there is a couple that spend the whole day there they even eat there and wait for racks and items to come out of the back. They wait by the door eat by the door and when some new items come out they both swarm the items and will not let anybody pick anything until they are done. They even roll clothes and I was looking through a rack and she got in front of me and took clothes to hang up. I know this is helpful but isn't this also a safety issue? I have heard a lot of other customers complaining about this couple as they are rude and greedy and it isn't even fun to shop at your store anymore. Could the manager let them know that they should not be hanging stuff or putting items on the shelves or eating there or staying there all day? Please help myself and other customers to be able to have fun shopping there and maybe getting something that we would like.

Goodwill Industries illegally requires their employees to do pre-employment paperwork after hours off the clock.

I have never given a bad rating on any service until now , I'm a retired male with a small business at age 75 , a couple weeks back , my daughter lost her mom due to illness , I helped her donate everything
We could haul from an upstairs apartment, she contacted Good Will industries to donate a rather expensive reclining couch , ornate wood framed bed , furniture I had hand made in the 80's , antique
Art work , recumbent bike , the list goes on , she told the receptionist it was upstairs , two young guys arrived , said it was a liability to move themselves and watched her carry everything by herself down the stairs , I will never ever support such a rude behavior nor should I , I'll be in front of the various good Will establishments
As often as I can and pass the information on to anyone who will even consider donating to such a callous organization and to think of how much I have donated to those idiots during my life , including my parents house in the 90's , I just feel duped and sense it is the time to speak out, please I ask if you have experienced the same , it's time to speak out against their neglect and corruption , thank you, Jerry

Why does goodwill no longer allow you to return items to a different store if you have a receipt and in the 3 day window. All this stuff being donated and then the price put on items is ridiculous. Not to mention you are getting picky on what you except. But you'll allow a soiled, broken smelly couch, rugs and other stuff that should be put in a dumpster to be tagged and placed out on the floor ro be sold. Tanktops and top that cover just your boobs sold for a shirt price. Not all shoes are marked fairly and many needs to be thrown away. Someone need to check keep an eye out when putting merchandise out for broken items safety reasons.

Boston, Comm Ave Goodwill. Manager Kenza is the worst of all. After her nasty look every time, you want to wash yourself in a bleach. She is absolutely horrible,a lot of people I know stopped going and shopping at this store. I don't know how is she still there. Grabbing stuff from people's hands, making nasty comments and remarks. Thief.

i just took 3 bags of various household items and clothing to the drive thru at Goodwill in West Ashley, Charleston, SC off Bees Ferry rd. The large African American man working the drive was very rude , would not help me remove things from my car and slung a bag that I told him had breakables in it into a shopping cart with complete disregard. I heard the glass shatter. now my nice donations cannot be sold.
I will NEVER DONATE to that Goodwill again.

Posted by Lisah

I am beyond irate with goodwill and your exorbitant prices for crap that you get for free. Wake up and realize that the crap you are selling is USED and should be priced accordingly. Jesus I just saw a soup tureen for $15! For Christ sake what in the hell is wrong with you? I'm going to make it my mission to steal something from every goodwill store I ever go into for the rest of b my life just to get even. And some jerk is getting rich off this because it is NOT a non profit and the jobs program is useless! I hate this scamming bs store.

I am a long time goodwill shopper and have donated many things over the years . However .. goodwill seems to have lost touch with basic morals and intelligence over their no price tag no sale policy .
Why does it seem worthwhile to infuriate countless customers who are there to buy items goodwill gets for free ..only to be told if it has no sticker tag..no one can just go fix it..it can take days .
Meanwhile another sale is lost ..another customer is red faced in disgust .
It's horrible to put employees in this position and the most stupid sales and public relations concept ever to manifest in a thrift store.

It's supposed to stop thieves from switching prices ? Then stop using stickers that fall off . Have a general barcode for certain items ..and just be fair.

Go ahead and keep selling the free merchandise for your own profit but stop treating employees and customers like serfs who don't deserve to buy what is on the shelves or to be able to call a manager to settle any questions.
All other stores figure out a price when needed. They don't block the sale. Why is it only goodwill?

I was told it's to keep track of sales. They barcode is king . It's Always the computer that can and will fail a business due to faulty stickers .

For a good idea ..be reasonable . Start showing appreciation for all the customer base that keeps you in business .

You are loosing my business because seniors only get a discount on Wednesday. There is another thrift store close by that gives discounts of 20 % everyday. It's hard to just go that day. You need to change your policy. Thanks Shirley Osborne

Embarrassing
Goodwill store employee Hendersonville TN
I asked you f they could open another register, per usual, 8-10 people in line and 3-4 of those have loaded carts! Only one register open. He told me it sucks to be you get in line!!!
So I put my items on the nearest shelf and walked out along with 2 other people that were tired of standing g in line.
No one wants to wait 20 min, and I'm being generous, to make a purchase. Y'all have been in business long enough to know this. Put that on top of your smartass staff and I'm done. Lost a customer forever Happy Holidays
I should add that I had to go into the back just to find the smart ass smug employee

Posted by Watsupamerica

Dear Goodwill, stop selling electric items that hasn't been tested. Stop playing your ad that says you help and train people to get jobs, because half of them can't do theirs. And lower your prices because 95% is donated and you get a tax write off, and you keep 87% of all money earned from these free donations. You're such a a horrible person.

Horrible nasty manages, In Hazlet , New Jersey Goodwill store cashiers are nice as far as the managers go. They're very nasty. I try to avoid them I shop there but recently we bought a camera for my son and I asked one of the cashiers if we could return it. If it's not working, she said yes within two days ...I bought it. I got home put the batteries in and nothing worked. I brought it back the next day. The manager comes out. You can't return it or get store credit ...I said why because this item is free, you're not losing any money I want my money back.. how dare you sell items to customers and keep their money ..when the item are broken ..that's stealing in my eyes you should be charged with theft ... can imagine how many people you guys ripped off and kept their money with broken items .. unbelievable I cannot be returned or store credit unfair and it's robbery and you're stealing and I'm gonna look into it see anyway you could be charged with stealing...shame on you ... stealing from our pockets to fill your own pockets... shame on you...

I am disappointed and disgusted with the outrage prices of Goodwill. The clothes and items are donated and Goodwill turns around and raise prices on used items. Wal mart has 2.00 racks and the merchandise is new. Goodwill thanks for continuing to rob American citizens!

Went to Kernersville nc store today. Sign states all DVDs are $1.99 unless otherwise marked. Get at the checkout and employee says "you know this is $5 right?" I stated no, the sign says $1.99. I was told that the sticker must have fallen off and it's $5. Love the price increase at the register when sign clearly stated otherwise! So item was left and I feel I was in the right. If item was priced $5 I understand, but that was not the case. I'm tired of these companies overcharging at checkout and it is allowed!

Note but crooks. I shopped at Goodwill for many many years
Always finding great deals for quantity goods. then you got greedy might not have been so distaste if you kept your mission alive. But now because of your lack of integrity I won't donate anything to goodwill. Your hunger for money for items that are DONATED to you is revolting.?I won't shop there anymore because of your blatant dishonesty and incompetence

Sold me a broken VCR even though they told me it worked. The supervisor did not let me exchange it even though they told me it worked and even tested it in the back. I did not see them test it. The only good part was the electronics guy who was very understanding.

I have been thrifting most of my life and love it. I noticed an increase in shoppers at the thrift stores and said to my husband, the prices are now going to go up because of the increase. Low and behold they have certainly gone up. Greed, greed and more greed. They have joined the club. They have taken all the fun out of it. The points system is crazy and I have had many arguments with trying to get my points which I deserve. If an item doesn't have a colored tag, forget it, it is not being sold. How much money you lose by doing that is unbelievable. Some of the staff is very rude. Items are not being put out on a regular basis. I will not be donating there anymore either. It's a shame, but money talks and that seems to be what is more important to them now. Very, very disappointed. They have lost a regular customer in me!

I have been in many, many Goodwill stores in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. The Goodwill Thrift Store at 8963 E Tanque Verde Rd, Tucson AZ, is the neatest, most organized Goodwill store that I have ever been in.

I would like to say that I shop at goodwill and have for over 30 some years. There are stores I shopped that no longer exist. One of the oldest I can recall was at Abbott rd plaza in Lackawanna. YES 30 some years ago.I have been shopping at the hamburg goodwill for another few years..I must say that ever since Tony has taken over there has been a noticeable change to the business.Hes always on the go ,I don't know how he does it .As there has been so many changes few of the girls that were working there like to stand at the counter and chat which I understand is part of making customers happy. But there was a few that don't want to help out .I see it because I have a similar work ethic as that Tony.Teresa is also a amazing worker and I must say I've as well seen the same things happen to her. They work hard in the back sorting and you have a brick standing or sitting at the register not concerned that the others are giving there all.I can definitely see why any boss would get upset .It's tough to find good workers. As well the woman that ran that store before Tony was obviously a freind of some ones because the store was realy lacking any kind of roll over of merchandise. I certainly wonder how she got away with it.Empty shelves and the same stuff sitting on the counters for weeks.Realy boring no one wants to shop ar a store like that .But apparently she was always on vacation in Florida. Any how I hope Tony gets a well deserved raise .Nice job Tony !!

A big thank you to Stefanie McClellan, and her daughter, at the goodwill on MLK, fayetteville, AR, for helping me find a hard-to-find item that I really needed. Stefanie also took time to prepare the item for loading into my car. But that is not all. She also did the loading. All of this a big smile on her face.
You are awesome Stefanie. So is your daughter. You went far beyond the expected. Thank you!

Duncan Oklahoma store manager is absolutely wonderful. She is funny she's polite and nice to everyone. I bought a washer and dryer in there recently and she told me that they were from people leaving the army base in Lawton and gave me as much information as possible. She's just a really nice lady and makes a good store manager.

I was at the Goodwill store today on North Market Drive. They had several bins overflowing with costume jewelry. We were digging through the bins like little girls playing dress up. It was the most fun that I have ever had at the Goodwill. So many treasures!!!

There was a worker at Goodwill in Anderson, IN (I believe named Jeshua). He helped my husband and I found out lost debit card in just a minute! He was very friendly as well!

In reference to the Hartwell, GA store. There's a young black girl with long hair working up front who is an Angel. She went out of her way to help me. I am disabled and it's hard for me to deal with the public. This girl is above and beyond. I felt better when I left the store because of her kindness and she was just a Blessing for me & I wanted to leave a comment about her. I hope she gets the credit she deserves. It's so good to run into a person that makes your day.
And the store is great. It's clean and well organized and my favorite place to shop.
Thank you Good Will

Id really like to thank the mgr natarsha for her service yesterday. She was very professional while going above and beyond to seek some assistance to resolve my issue, she even asked for my information and actually followed up before the days end. Note if they had more people like her that company would rock. Thanks

5 Stars for the Goodwill Of The Heartland, this is one the best Goodwill locations I have dealt with so far, I purchased an electric guitar and they loosened the strings and packed it exactly like I ask them to, the problem was that the guitar had internal damage very difficult for the average eye to detect without disassembling the guitar and would never be playable again, I contacted them and sent them pictures of the damage, Manager Jason Willcox made it right, I couldn't have asked for anything more, Not all Goodwill locations will do this, Some of them will just say tough luck buddy we sold it as is! SO 5 STARS FOR THE GOODWILL OF THE HEARTLAND.

I go to the Goodwill on Waughtown often. There's this one lady who works there name Brittiney Johnson. She is such a sweet soul. If she's not giving you style advice, or taking her time to help find clothes, she's singing, or giving you a riddle to solve. Her smile makes my day better. If you need your spirit lifted. Go see Ms. Brittiney at the Waughtown store.

I would like to give a shout out for one of your employees at the Brownsville rd powder springs location. I don't know her name but she was working on Tuesday, November 15. She is one of the kindest and polite workers that I have encountered at this location. Need to give her a commendation.

I go to the Escanaba Store quite often and would have to say it's one of the cleanest stores I have been in, the only thing that bothers me about the store is that the main Manger is very rude to her employees and sometimes to others. I watched her pull a employee aside and embarrassed her infront of everyone in the store for making a simple mistake. Were only humans, cut people a break. Between talking with others they have also seen this lady (manager) treat her employees poorly. If you think that a store can be ran by a manager without their employees then your wrong, from big businesses to small businesses, treat your employees good and they will treat you the same way!

Goodwill is one of my favorite thrift stores, I was looking for a Goodwill nearby, so I found this location. This Goodwill is huge, where I'm from our Goodwill stores are very small but this one is really big and it has a lot of good stuff. But most importantly, some of the employees at this location are very nice. Martika was so helpful and kind to help me out. She was very polite and didn't mind going around helping other customers with a big smile. I hope Goodwill takes good care of employees like Martika.

I would like to leave a comment about one of your employees that makes a remarkable difference, not just for sales but to customers and her fellow employees.Hwr name is Debby Weaver and she works at the phenix city Goodwill off 431/280.iv seen this person do above and beyond simply because she is a geniuenly good person.even on her worst e day she make people's/customers day and lives better even to her own determent.I do feel she is being somewhat takin advantage of by management because she simply cannot say no to extra hours and work even though it physically pains her.Im short,I feel she should be commended and recognized.Thank You for your time.

I've been a good worker and got treated poorly then got chosen over a lazy employee, I've always shown up on time and early at times then I get fired out of nowhere because I "slammed" a door at someone who was threatening me then getting in my face, I told hr that I wasn't comfortable and safe in my work environment then few days later I got called to be fired, I don't know what I did to deserve this but I've been working there since August, Don't apply at goodwill Alexandria they will hype you up then later down the line fire you for something ridiculous.

Terrible place to work employees treated terrible.they over work you and don't care about customers.

As a Goodwill employee I have to say this is the worst company I have ever worked for! I haven't met a hanger yet that doesn't feel like they are under tremendous pressure to meet an unachievable number goal unless you are young and fit or have the energy of a circus clown. If you don't meet this ridiculously high hanging goal even if your close to it,you love the job and come to work every day they will fire you anyway. 99% of the employees are miserable because trying to get mgmt to listen to you is impossible nor do they care what you have to say or care about your feelings or ideas! They put on a good act in the beginning but you slowly see their masks fall off over time! Mgmt will lie on you to save themselves from corporate scrutiny or punishment. They never take accountability for anything. I haven't seen one person yet properly trained for the position they were hired for before they're thrown to the wolves. The favoritism goes all the way to the top and if you're not in the clique you get targeted! It's literally like being back in high school! I used to have a good image of Goodwill but not anymore! Their expectations for employees is about equal to a slave labor camp it feels like! Not one person lead and below at the store I work at is happy with anything! We all love our job and each other outside of asst mgr & above and that's sad! They are soooooo wasteful too and throw away so much stuff that could go to needy families, homeless shelters ECT but rather they just throw it in the trash compactor. I could keep going on what all is wrong with this F'd up company for quite a while longer I'm afraid to say! I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in this company as a employee and former customer. When I find a new job I will never spend another dime in any store anywhere ever again knowing everything I know now! I wish I had never taken this job. They are not a charitable company either btw!! Do not ever work this company!!

I am a new employee here at the Englewood location 1019 and I cannot believe that the pay is only 14.50 in the warehouse department dontations it's a lot of work ! Literally the latest pay should be 17.50 I wouldn't complain if it was 18.50 there's so much to do especially if it's one person! It's sad I cried from the overwhelming of this department. One person cannot keep up with all the tasks that are required while other employees and staff or supervisors dont even want to bother to give you a hand till the last hour on my shift. You have to price furniture, mark the boxes according, pull the manual pallets to move full boxes, sort donations,& put donations in the bins from the floor , Hand out receipts if needed , break down boxes, make boxes literally so much for one employee. This is to much for little pay.!It is a no wonder why this department has such a high turn over rate.!

Today i was let go due to me not being "flexible". However i was told that the boss was a understanding flexible person and if i needed time off or a time worked best for me to ask and she would make it work. I wasnt asked if I could work more i was told i was let go. The work environment is horrible!!!! You have a bunch of supervisor messing around and letting the newbies do the work. So much things the boss lets happens and doesn't correct it because she is to much of a friend and not a leader!! We price things way to high and throw so much out to waste!! Oh and the starting pay is $12.25!!! Really?! Working here made me have a different opinion on goodwill all together!!

I work for goodwill in Aiken SC. When Ms. Correece was manager we had off every other Sunday and one weekend a month. Also when Ms. Robin was helping us before another manager was hired it was the same except sometimes we had off 2 Sundays in a row. As of this year I have been made to work every Sunday except for one and 2 more that I had to use pto to have off. One other person is always here with me as well on Sunday unless pto is used. Other special ppl have off many Sundays. I was promised this Sunday off coming but I have been told that it's mandatory everyone work this Sunday. My grandson asked me if we were no longer Christians because he and my young son would always go to church with me every other Sunday. I told him we were but I assumed that the ppl running goodwill was not. I don't feel it's fair for certain ppl to have off multiple Sundays and other ppl none.
Also we have been told that the a c is working properly but the windows attract sun/heat and there is no insulation in the building. That was told to us today by 2 goodwill employees with goodwill written on their shirts. The customers are pouring sweat and so are the employees. Anytime a customer complains I ask them to please fill out a comment card. I believe about 15 have.

Goodwill is a good company to work for but lately the types of people thats been hired are rude and not professional at all the store that i have been in for several years is filthy and full of dust. The customer service is awful. Nasty bathrooms and no one seems to care.I have donated to the Bensawyer location for years but will never visit or donate to this store again.

My step son works for Goodwill in Corinth, MS. He told me that he as an employee couldnt buy stuff at the store because he works there. I think thats pretty low down and sorry. Just because someone works at a place shouldnt mean they cant shop there. Thats the most retarded thing ive ever heard. Infact employees who qork there should be able to buy from there plus get employee discounts. Plus its a public store he can ahop there if he wants to. Its a public place.

I feel l was discriminated against. The store in Odessa has a now hiring sign by the street. I applied several
Weeks ago and never heard from them. Well I was in there today, the sign was still there. When I walked in the manager was right there so I asked him about a job, and told him I had applied a while back and was still looking for enployment. I am white. He told me that he was hiring cashiers but that they need to be bilingual.
Well standing right beside him was a white woman. Well before I left the store I asked her if she was bilingual and she told me no.I am well qualified to work there and I found it offensive. Laurie

So I use to work at the goodwill in Sanford fl 32771 on highway 46, I quit back in May 2015 because I found a better job that paid more. And yes I have been coming in and checking up and saying hi to some of my co-workers and I've honestly been hearing that things have gotten bad since Michelle Smiley left and then Rick who isnt the general manager but was in charge and is still in charge there . He's had a few people walk out or quit on him because of the way things in that place are getting and the other day I went to drop 2 pairs of shoes off and happened to look in the back room/where house area and it was a disaster, I've never seen it that bad even when the first of the year came around we still had room to breathe that to me was crazy... And I believe it's because Rick won't stop ordering more stuff to be shipped to the store and that is a safety hazard for both the employees and the customers because we all know that the customers try to walk through the back as well.. My suggestion is to have the CEO walk through that place unannounced and see how much of a mess it is and how bad Rick is really doing... When I found out Michelle was leaving that's when I started to look for a better job because in my opinion Michelle Smiley leaving is probably what made that place fall apart. and I didn't want to stick around and watch it... She held it together no matter what anyone says and she did her best to stay positive everyday that she worked I saw her come in most of the time hyper with a smile on her face and ready to start the day and yes she worked most everyday and almost every shift she worked was a 12 hour shift or longer but she went for something better in the company because she had her boss' Anna and Rick on her all of the time to make sales and do better even tho she was making sales and I'll tell you right now she did better in the 2 years she worked at that store and she never not once ever had one of her employees walk out or quit on her I'm not saying that she needs to be brought back to the store because I completely understand why she left but I do think that you need to find someone like her to take over that store because Rick being in charge just isn't cutting it and the co-workers that I consider family are falling apart because it would seem as tho Rick cares more about keeping the place a mess then having everyone still work as a team and keeping the place clean..

Thank you

Worked at st Robert for 2\5 years the abuse and treatment horrible. Vickie would say horrible things to me in front of other staff and was I a lead. The day it was minus 12 and opener vickie left message I had to unload the whole st Louis truck and I did with no winter proper clothing. I'm was so cold had to have Kim help me close the trailer. Kim heard my shoulder bone break. Workmen comp no ex rays put in sling and physical therapy. After 6 months in sling Vicki at me for production got my own doctor. Being antique and bargain shopper and know what's worth I put out full carts and good price . I know value and had things put on line. Wrote a statement about kim and Anita fixing pricing and buying it. Anita gets fired for stealing a deposit which she said would pay and spent money on attorney. Deposit found at bank not my friend she could sue the bank and you. You say not profit organization know better.
