My experience with Farmers is the worst one I have had in my life. You raised my insurance 32% because you claimed I had a bad credit rating which was totally untrue. I called Equifax and talked to 2 different people who told me there was nothing in my credit report to cause that much of an increase. They also sent me copies of my report and there was only one late payment over several years which was on an account I signed for my grandson. His payment because he had a total breakdown after the death of his mother, who was my daughter. They gave me a rating of 753. two others gave me ratings of 793 and 796. To me it is disgusting how you can deliberately lie about people to the insurance commission. I just wonder how many others you have done this to. I think you should be reported to the federal commission and If I can find a way I will do it. I have all the documentation I need. I have told several people who have asked about home owners insurance to stay away from Farmers and I will keep on doing so.

Four yrs ago we turned in a damage claim to Farmers in Omak WA, due to a huge rain/ WI d storm we had in which a portion of our roof was blown away. Farmers refused our claim and said they did so because they felt the damage was catoptrics. Not true stall, so we dropped them and went with USAA and when our roof began today leak again thos last year we turned in a claim to them and within one week they paid our claim and we finally got our roof fixed correctly. Thank God for USAA Insurance. This really worries us because we still have our life insurance through Farmers and we pretty positive that if one of us passes away Farmers will not pay on our policies and that could be catastrophic for us. Can you insure us that if something happens to either of us that you will pay off on the policies we have been paying on for over 10 yrs?

My husband and I have had Farmers insurance for 40 years, been with the same agent for 27 of those years. We have always been happy with our rates and our agent until we had a claim. I repeat we have had Farmers insurance for 40 YEARS! without a calim. I recently backed into a post which cause $3,000.00 in damage to my 2012 Silverado Truck. The claim went smoothly and all was fixed. Much to my suprize I just received my next bill and my rates have gone up $400.00! I now repeat 40 years without a claim! When I called my agent about the increase I was told that is big business and there was nothing she could do. Now I feel after 40 years with no claims I have already paid any claims I would incured and now I am to pay again and her answer was "Go to State Farm and see if you get anything better". Well after all this time of being a loyal customer I expected to get better treatment than that. Now, because of her attitude even if I have to pay more somewhere else I will just because after all these years I thought a good record meant something! Just wish I could find a way to talk to somebody hirer up in the company just to let them know how crappy this is.

The agents for this company never pick up the phone when you call. All calls go to voicemail and messages are not returned. I spent four days trying to contact a local agent about a claim and never made contact. I finally called the 800 number for customer service. The customer service agent was friendly but could not help me and I was referred to someone else. The person I was referred to was friendly but could not help me resolve the issue and I was referred a second time to someone else. I'm still waiting to see if that person will call me back. With current technology and cell phones, this is ridiculous!

went into a Farmer's insurance office. The first thing that happened was the payment for the new policy was deducted from my bank account. Two days later I was informed that Farmer's could not insure my car because I didn't have auto insurance for at least 6 months previous. Well, neither did I have a car in the previous six months. They refused to refund my money, but decided to insure my car for 1 month only. That completely SUCKS AND SO DOES FARMER'S.

i had farmers insurance for 30 years, which i took over from my husband, after he got alzheimers.he was a smart man ,so i thought farmers was good.anyway, one window was broke, by a tenants son,at the apartment i own.they denied me...it was only 700.00!i checked my policy, and i was covered for terrorism, cypher attacks and everything that is very unlikely to happen.before that they raised my rates.no accident ,.no claims.farmers was getting on my nerves..i'm moving to state farm....silver lining..i save a boatload of money

I guess they are fine if you don't ever need to file a claim. The condo owner above me had a tenant who left his toilet running and did damage to my unit. According to Farmers they weren't liable for it and denied the claim because their policy holder did not do the damage, his tenant did. Really? Then whats the point of insurance. I had to pay for the repairs myself.

Worst insurance company I have ever worked with. It cost me over $500.00 to get insurance and then they had nerve enough to send me a bill for 143.00.

I cancelled my policy in March of 2013 and the company continued to take money from auto debit. I submitted requests to my agent, and also the Farmers on line. I was on hold at the time of this entry for 62 minutes and the previous attemps over 60 minutes.

Please if you are looking for insurance, try another company

This is the worst company one could ever choose. My kid was hit by a drunk driver 3 years ago. We chose to not get an attorney in order to avoid the litigious nature of this countries citizens (not wanting to be one of them). If you get hit by a person insured by farmers get an attorney!!!! They gave her 1100.00 and she will suffer back pain for life. A severely bad company. We are going after the driver now. Go with State Farm, Allstate, or even geico above and beyond them if you don't want be the recipient of a lawsuit since this company is literally has put her through hell. Getting an attorney finally and Also filing a suit against their practices. I promise they will put so much into attorneys from me they will wish they had taken care of her properly. Entirely unethical and incompetent. Aren't these people regulated? Guess ill be finding out.

Hi, my wife and I just recently purchased a house. Around the beginning of this year we received a bill from your company. I immediately called and told the gentleman on the phone that I have never talked to any agent or applied to your insurance company. He apologized and didn't understand why we were billed and said, that it was cancelled. I received a letter several days later that the policy was cancelled and nothing was owed. Then, a few months ago, we received another bill. My wife called and explained to the agent Roberta Medina that we recently cancelled this policy. Since then, we have been receiving multiple bills. I called Roberta myself to asked to stop these harassing bills and letters. She said, she was on the other line and she'll call me back in 10 minutes. I never got a a call back. And today we received another bill. We are very upset and are suspecting if this is a scam. We are now about to speak to our attorney about this suspicious activity. Please resolve this for us before we take any legal action. Thank you for your time.

I have been with Farmer's Insurance for 20+ years. I had the same insurance agent all this time. Any time I had a claim or a question he satisfied my needs within 24 hours. He recently retired and now I can not get any service at all! It takes weeks to get any answers for anything and when I try to get a hold of claims adjusters regarding a current claim all I get are answering machines with never a call back! No one seems to know or have answers for anything! It is so frustrating after so many years of great service! I am definitely going to change insurances!!!!!

I am so disappointed in their stupid policy. I was on a freeway, and I switched lane and got a hit and run. They would not cover it because it's my fault for switching lane!? Are you kidding me! So basically is like telling me to never switch lane because if i get hit, i won't be cover! They just lost a customer and more when i spread words about how horrible their policy is!

My house was hit by a tornado last April (yes, in 2012), and I STILL haven't received all of the money I need for repairs, and I have had to deal with about 10 different people. It's become comical to me, and I'm curious to see how long it will be dragged out. I submitted contractor's invoices in May of 2012, and Farmer's must hire THE dumbest people on the planet.

I cannot get a claims agent or her supervisor to call me back on a truck.

Wait time is horrible. You can not speak with a human before at least 15 mins. And then they can not cancel the policy on phone or online. You have to email or fax the request. that's almost archaic.

My mom & I have been with Farmers Insurance for many years, with myself being with them for 13 years, & my mom, 21 years. We both had Dale Terpstra of unincorporated Calumet Township in Lake County Indiana, until his agent agreement was terminated by Farmers themselves. Since that time, we haven't had an official agent, instead, relying on being serviced by the district office, handled by Adam Sammartino in Crown Point, IN. We had planned to go with Melissa Torres in Highland, IN, but for unknown reasons, she decided not to take our policy. Evita Malkimos at the Adam Sammartino office has insisted that Angela Rice of Calumet Township is a good agent, & now has an assistant working for her. Despite having an assistant, her office is still closed more than it's open. Turns out that Angela Rice runs Integrity Real Estate as well as her Farmers Insurance company out of the same office. Since she's out of the office often, it seems to me that she cares more about helping people buy & sell homes than insurance. I don't know how long Angela Rice has been a Farmers agent, but I know it's less than Dale was. Dale was a Farmers agent for almost 28 years when he was forced out. Because he lost his entire customer base, & not allowed to take back any of his former customers for a minimum of a year, we're forced to look for a new insurance agent, & will be dropping Farmers because of this. I only hope that State Farm will be better for us. Farmers only hurt the customers that Dale Terpstra had than hurt Dale Terpstra himself. He had a setback, but since he comes from a family with money, he'll have no problem rebuilding his business. My mom will be going back to Dale once he can take back his old customers. I plan to relocate, & would not be able to go back to his agency, even after the time frame expiration.

I too had Farmers Insurance for about 3 years...Im wondering what kind of agents does farmers have working for them...I have dealt with 2 different agents only because i thought it was juat me..but i have to admit are very unprofessional and do talk down to you as if you were a kid...i had farmers take out 2 pmts in one month electronically and when i calld my agent she said sorry we cant refund you that money back we will compensate by taking out a lower payment in te next few months...my agent was not only helpful but very rude when i mentioned i would be switching insurance she said in return see if you can find a perfect insurance as perfect as you...how dare her...now im having to dispute claims that never happen during my policy with farmers...im beginning to believe they do keep your money..

I am a 66 yr old worman with claims open at Farmers Ins. Co. I am having trouble colecting the depreciation on claims. Since the work was done, I have been talked too by the adjuster like a 2 yr old. I paid cash for the materials and labor on my claim. I had more damage at my house and all receiptes were destroyed in the rain. Now that I can't produce receipts for everything.
the adjuster said that I was making a profit on the claim and refuses to pay me. I have had Framers insurance for many years and never have I been talked too like the man did nor accused of wrong doing before. I am beginning to think that the company gives a bonus for money that the ajusted keeps. My agent is no help.

I Just Received My New Quote From Your Co
And Must Say I Was Very Dismayed By It. I
Tried 3 Times To Contact My Agent Before
Finally Getting Him On The 4th Try. I Voiced
My Disapproval Over The $300.00 Annual Increase (being A Person On Social Security With A Limited Income)but No Solution Forth
Coming From Him. I Am Going To Seek Out Other Insurance Companies For Comparable
Insurance Coverage At Lower Rates.

I was with Farmers for 20years and just cancelled everything today due the incompetence of one agent and his receptopnist. Robert O Thone, Albuquerque, NM. We had our agent come out to give us a quoute on our home insurance because our Mortgage company sent us a letter stating that our home was underinsured. The agent (Robert O Thone)came out evaluated everything told my husband that he would be emailing us a quote. A week later we received a new policy in the mail our insuracne for year had gone up 300.00. We never received a quote and never authorized him to change it. We just wanted a quote to determine if we had to star looking elsewhere or stay with Farmers. When i called the agents office the secretary became ver argumentative. I told her she didnt need to be rude she needed to be professional and the bottom line was that we were going to cancel our for both our vehicles and the home. she stated i could do what ever i wanted and hung up on me. I am so dissapointed i will never go back to farmers and they cant thank the help at Robert O Thone Agency in Albuquerque, NM

I am not happy with Farmers Insurance right now and it seems this is headed to a court battle. I filed my Landlord Homeowners claim 1/7/13 after my rental was severely vandalized. I explained to my agent that I depend on the rent to pay my mortgage. As a customer, you must wait until an adjuster can appraise the damage to make repairs, as they need to see and access the damage.
Their policy says they will send someone within 72 hours to the property, but it took them until Monday the 21st to go t to the property (14 days). That’s time I cannot collect rent! My policy clearly states that if the property is un-habitable, it will pay loss of rent. Now the adjuster is telling me I am not reading the policy correct and that they only pay for the time repairs are being made? So I am supposed to eat the cost while they take their sweet time figuring out their policy and what applies? (all the while the clock is ticking)
Due to this horrible situation, the plumbing and the electrical for heating has to be repaired before I can legally rent. Now I am left waiting, and they are telling me it’s going to take another two weeks to get an answer if I can move forward. There is a month down the drain that I cannot collect rent!
As a landlord, I have not been able to make the repairs to move forward and get the property rented again. I am feeling frustrated, in the dark, and on top of that don’t have a date when I can once again rent the property. So much for customer service and having multiple homes with Farmers…. Stay tuned
