Price of auto policy goes up depending on the people they have working for them at the time employee turnover. The incopetance i have seen in every call i make to them. Example of mistakes is bought a new car and gave them all the information and lienholder but farmers removed my collision so i was driving around for almost 4 weeks without it. There is major incopetance on the agent's level and thier employees level. I switch back to allstate when farmers upped my insurance to almost 1200.00 for every 6 months and i am 46 years old no moving violations or accidents on my record now i'm paying less than 500 every 6 months for 100% better insurance. Stay away from farmers very high premium and the time you will be on the phone fixing mistakes or problmes they do on purpose. Farmers name should be Fraud Inc.

One of their policy holders rear-ended me in 09/12. Farmers totaled my car and I received a rental. Long story short, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with my claims adjuster, Angela, as she was frequently out of the office. I e-mailed several times and had to constantly play semantics with her. As of right now, I have a $500.00 CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD from Enterprise because Farmers has taken 2 MONTHS, and still counting,to authorize the CDW (rental insurance) despite the fact they have my declaration page from my insurance company. I am absolutely flabbergasted at how insanely incompetent Farmers insurance is. I am STILL waiting for them to communicate with me regarding their payment.

This insurance agency has faulty customer service and improperly trained agents/officemangers. They have repeatedly made errors on my families accounts. Including but not limited to: dropping/adding wrong vehicles mixed with OTHER families, cancelling automated payments without consent or notifaction, and they have yet to change my married name which all forms were filled 3 years ago. They are never in the office and never return phone calls.

I'm currently dealing with Farmers after their client slammed into me and totaled my car sending me to the hospital. They never return calls, they don't want to pay what's fair, won't give me a rental car after today, and are fighting us on all my medical expenses. So now I can't get to Dr. appts, my kids to all their activities, etc. I am paying for all my medical expenses on my own which are already into the thousands, I also had to hire an attorney! Not only did the guy who hit us have farmers but so did we. I have since changed insurance companies for all our insurance needs. Now Farmers is trying to get us to stay with them but are still trying to screw us on our current claim!?!?! Guess they didn't like the thought of me us taking our business, home, vehicle, boat, 4x4 and life insurance away from them. Guess they should have treated us like the victim we were and not the one who caused this mess. Never again will we do business with Farmers or any of their subsidary companies again! We will take our $400 a month else where!

Far and away the worst company. Had them for awhile on rentals and they just screwed the policy/billing up. Hard to understand and the agent was absolutly worthless. Just look how hard it is to find a live person for policy service!! No Farmers never again!!

Worst customer service!! I was rear ended and the person who hit me had farmers. I ended up paying over 800 dollars to get my car fixed. They didn't want to pay for anything. They were rude and not helpfully at all. I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with them.

one thing i have learned. do not use a company that farmers hires for you. they do the work slowly, and your claim amount grows so it makes it hard to get other insurance when farmers cancels the insurance you have had for years with them. my adjuster hired the company to clean my house. that company did a horrible job and i could have done it better and in less time while working full time. since canceling my home i will be getting my cars insured elsewhere.

I have had Farmers for over 15 years and havd been satisfied with Farmers overall. I was totally satisified with my lastagent that left the company. My agemt now is Fances A Chappell, Richardson, Texas. Over my 40 years of living in three different tates and having several different agencies this latest has by far been the worst customer service I have experienced. She needs to learn the meaning of customer service and what the true meaning of a customer value proposition. The customer is wrong, paper work sent that was never rreceived, recieving cancellation notices for non payment when in a auto pay plan. not understanding instructions and having an umbrella policy cancelled. Sent e-mails that take to long to recieve answers or have to send reminders. On and on, as I said the worst In my experience. Just to note, I do write and inform when I recieve excellent service.

Terrible after hours customer service. We were on hold for 45. Minutes then they hung up on us. After calling back 15 more minutes on hold, we just gave up and called allstate. Excellent service there... Switched our coverage.

I have been with Farmers for quite a few years now. Not too many problems. However I recently backed into a van in a grocery store parking lot and dented my bumper. They were very helpful about getting me a rental and setting me up with a great repair shop. However, calling the claims number to answer basic questions I was immediately greeted with a hurried and rushed operator. I felt like the friendly and warm voices I was used to came to a screeching halt. Like I just ruined her day for calling and put a huge strain on her time. My questions were very basic and simple and her answers were so curt and short I actually felt like this is a completely different company. I wanted to go over more information but the thought of being treated this way even more so was discouraging me from asking. What a shame and disappointment. I don't want to change providers but I don't want to talk to employees like that again in case one day I have another claim and get treated this way either. They must not conduct interviews for employees in that department. Has anyone else gone through this?

My agent pat andreas faribault mn basically misinformed us on our auto policy. He said we were paid through April when we were actually only paid through March. Then farmers charged us a late fee and won't reimburse us. I'm fed up and we canceled all policies and WILL NEVER EVER USE FARMERS AGAIN. The ripped us off. Ps. They ripped of my dad's business policy prior for years. Different agent same farmers.

Farmers Insurance Company treats their clients like stupid little sheep. Kim Johnson, my first respondent, was adamantly told there was no damage to the back of the vehicle I had a minor collision with. Kim Johnson was also repeatedly told there were photos of the damage and photos of the pre-existing damage from the scene. The Farmers adjustor, Jason Leahey(?), then submitted a claim for the entire side (front and back) of the other vehicle. He never asked for the photos. When I called Geico to ask why my insurance company paid for pre-existing damage, they were at a total loss as their claim only consisted of the front fender, side mirror and front door. There was no claim for the back of the vehicle, wheel panel or back fender. Well, my so called insurance company, Farmers, paid to have it all fixed. Yep, they work for me. My vehicle was fixed out of pocket for $300... the other vehicle was almost $2000. You can bet my insurace will go up because of their incompetency. With employees like this, it's no wonder car insurance costs are so high!

Posted by I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!

Yesterday at around 8:30am, I made a $203 payment over the phone with KIM. I was extremely upset that my payment amount was raised and KIM so nonempathetically said, "well you can go find another insurance provider." After last month I paid your company $300 to renew my policy. She said, "Well, actually there is a $25 charge from last month that didn't get added to your last payment. Thats not my fault that she didn't charge me the appropriate charges at the appropriate time. However, even though I was extremely pissed off, I still made my payment. Then, I thought about it, called her back and asked her that the payment be voided or my money refunded as I am going to cancle my policy and find a different insurance provider. On my lunch break from work, I took the liberty of purchasing a different insurance policy with a different company. I called KIM back to ask more questions about when my money will go back on my credit card. She said, "Well, the payment has been voided and I think it takes a couple of days for the money to go back on the card." I asked her how long exactly does it take? She said, " I think it takes a couple of days." I told her to send me an email stating that my payment has been voided with details about how long I can expect to wait to get my money back. KIM did not send me that e-mail like she said she would. I ONLY have an email for a reciept of payment from her. I never recieved a confirmation code to verify anything. I also faxed a written letter with a copy of my new insurance policy stating cancelation of policy. I never recieved an email saying my policy was canceled. I know you people don't like giving money back to your customers, but I literally spent MY ENTIRE CHECK on insurance this pay period and I have no money left for childcare, food and utilities. I don't appreciate this treatment at all and I would like my money back PLEASE! When she told me about the charges, I asked to speak with you and she conveniently told me that I couldn't because you were not there. If I have to take further action to get my money back, I will do so. I will never use this company again nor will I ever refer anybody to use this company. KIM needs to be fired because she provide me false information and lied about my payment being voided. COMPLETELY UNEXCEPTABLE!!!

Farmers' agent quoted a premium, we bought the policy, and three months later Farmers billed us for over $300 in estra premiums for what the agent admitted was his mistake, yet the company took no action to correct and turned us over to collection. When we reported the wrongful claim to Farmers, they said they would investigate, we heard nothing for two months, then started getting collections calls and notices again.

I wouldn't buy any insurance from this company again of any type.

Farmers Auto insurance is the worst. I was lied to about my premiums and after all my premiums were paid and I cancelled Farmers, they sent me a bill(no explanation) for $28.60. When I didn't pay the money because they wouldn't explain what the charge was for, they turned it over to a collection agency. I also have a homeowner's policy with Farmer's which I will be cancelling as soon as I find another company(Probably GEICO). Signed, Chuck

Due to very poor service over the last 4 months I have decided to cancel my plan with Farmers Insurance. I have been a loyal customer since I got my license at 16. I have been a customer for almost 10 years. The service that I have received in the past 4 months has been unacceptable. My bill had one error after getting married and changing my policy. I contacted Greg Ganyo office immediately to allow time for the correction prior to the bill due date to avoid late payment. After talking with Sarah at that office 3-4 times, I requested that she send me an invoice with the corrections so that I could attach it with my payment. I felt confident that the confusion was cleared up and I mailed in my payment. (On time). I then received a letter stating my plan was canceled and a check was included. I then called Sarah again with questions. She said she had no idea why this happened and would get to the bottom of it. 3 days went by and I heard nothing. I called again, talked with Sarah and she gave me the run around again. Then this issue was resolved. I paid following month like normal. I received yet another letter in the mail with a check saying that my plan was canceled with a check.

I became frustrated with this on going issues. It was as if I was baby sitting. I was not a customer who did not want to pay the premiums, I just wanted them corrected. For 3 months in a row this happened. I then requested that I talk to Greg directly. They covered the phone and spoke to him to inform him I was on the phone. I could hear him in back ground. Then Alicia/Sarah got back on phone and said, “he is out, would you like is VM?” I left a detailed VM. 3 business days went by and I called again… got his voice mail. In this VM I informed him that I was becoming frustrated and would like to talk with him directly. He never did call me back, he relayed message to Sarah and she EMAILED ME!

Needless to say, with me calling an insurance company more then they were contacting/assisting me… drove me to shop/look at other insurance companies. Not only have I been a loyal customer for 10 years & I brought my husband on to my account. My parents also have many services with the Greg Ganyo office for over 20 years. We have had many discussions regarding this particular office and the staff in it. We are far from impressed. I will be canceling my plan with Farmers insurance today. What I thought was a great company for so many years, is just the opposite.

I called 2/22 and spoke with Sarah. Without informing her who was calling I simply stated that I would like to cancel my policy with Famers. She said, “OK.” I then had to carry the conversation by asking how do I do so, will it be affective immediately, what is the fax number, and what do I include within this fax. At no time did she ask who I was, why I was canceling or if there was anything she could do to better assist me in keeping my policy. This was the moment when I realized customer relationships and customer service was non existent.

On my way to work this morning at 6:30am , i was exiting 140 on th GSP when one of your cars cut me off at the very end of the ramp by the guard rail, they just whippped into my lane probably because they were not paying attention or whatever, i almost had to steer into the guard rail to avoid them. the plate number was G41-ARF i am pretty sure, with your insurance logo on the rear. I hope all your drivers are not like this or your company is in trouble especially selling auto insurance, this looks bad.

This is BY FAR the worst insurance company I have dealt with. I cancelled my policy and they continue to hit my bank account each month, I had no choice but to close that account and open a new one. Talk about crooks, stay away don't sign up with these clowns.

After many years (over 35) of insuring with Farmers, they finally forced me to leave them (they claim I didn't pay so they cancelled). Actually, I have notified them for a year and a half of my new address (2 blocks from the old one), but they didn't notice and sent my bill to the old one. The people in my old house never received the bill (they always bring over my letters because we traded houses). Also, they still hadn't taken my dad off the policy (I told them to when he died in 2004--nursing home since 2000). There is definitely a need for good agents (my new insurance agent used to be a Farmers Insurance agent for many years and really has nothing good to say!) So sorry this has happened because my son works for Lowes in Kansas City and has a good relationship there with his Farmers agent. I guess thats the key--live in Overland Park where the home office is!

I can't tell you how many problems I have seen with this insurance company. I do video depositions and this is the worst of the bunch!

Allstate wants to crush the competition so for the next few years you will be in good hands, lol I guess. After 2 or 3 years watch out!

I have had policies with Farmers for 15 years and have been disappointed several times. My agent was an idiot. I finally called it quits when I found out they didn't update my policy to a lower rate since my roof was new. They paid to have the roof replaced! Now they are claiming since another department paid the claim they didn't really know. They refuse to refund the difference. Once I finally check out competing rates I was flabergasted to see how much I was being overcharged. Adios Farmers!
