Excellent customer service. No wait time, the rep was knowledgeable, courteous, answered my questions, and was able to resolve the issue. Thanks.

I have NEVER had a problem with Classmates and when I spoke with their customer service representative about an e-mail question, he was most helpful.

This is interesting...after reading all the negative comments about cancelling your subscription to classmates.com...I just called .....and within a minute I was connected and had such a nice, helpful person, Kim, help me with my cancellation. Kudos there, but I will still check my credit card statement to see that it was officially done! Alicia T.

On May 21, 2011 my wife discovered that $39.00 had been taken out of our joint account.
Why did this occur?
I was on Classmates - Memory Lane on May 19th, 2011 and I WANTED to find someone. However, once I discovered that I would have to pay for this service I got out of Classmates - Memory Lane without utilizing the services.
As I mentioned, I was charged $39.00 just for being on this site.
Also, how did you get our joint account number? I did not offer up my account or our account.
Please replace the funds you took out of our account and explain how you got our account number. Thank you.

I just used the 425-917-5000 number and they answered in less than 3 minutes. They first were not going to refund by I insisted they should based on how long it had been since I had accessed the site. Thanks ContactHelp because there is no number on their site.

My account was billed after I cancelled the service. I was only supposed to try out the service for the first billing cycle and then you were not authorized to bill my account again.

You charged my debit card without my authorization, please refund my money.

thank you

All comments appear to be the same as mine, except that I was foolish enough to have two different registrations under two different e-mails. Lesson, as mentioned about all others, always know who has your credit card number for renewal purposes and if you do all of your banking activities online, watch carefully. The thing that angered me most was I tried to cancel more than a month ago, but instead they sent me a correct link to cancel. Today I spoke to a real person that helped me cancel everything and did credit one of my two payments for March.

Horrible sevice but did give me a refund with some hassle. I've been treated worse.

called Brandon about automatically charging my credit card $39 fee for renewal that I had not authorized...he handled the situation very quickly and credited my card for the unused time...said it will take up to 30 days for credit to show up...appreciated his kind service...

I was in total shock when I looked at my credit card statement and discovered Classmates $39.95. I called the number I found online and after a long wait, a very personable customer service rep came on. When I explained how very disappointed I was because I didn't authorize this charge he promised to credit my credit card. He also said he would e-mail me to prove he would do it. We'll see.

OK, I will say that I FINALLY talked to Classmates and spoke with a very nice person named Rebecca. She apologized for the Auto-Renew charges made on Dec 6, and said that the $39 would be credited back to my account.

I had forgotten to change the automatic renewal on my Gold memebership and therefore it renewed automatically. At the present time I was unable to afford the full amount so I asked if there was anything they could do to help me out. The lady was very nice and friendly and she was able to lower my membership. It's a good feeling to know that in times of need a resolution can be made. Thanks Classmates customer service for being so helpful.

I just signed up for Gold in order to see an email response sent to me by someone I was looking for. When I went in there was no response. Called customer service and they issued a full refund to me. Very satisfied.

Just spoke to Classmates regarding the same issue. As stated by a couple of people, CM stated that they automatically billed for 2 year membership. Told them that because of the charge they overdrew my account and incurred overdrft fees. That constitutes a hardship so they refunded my money and would call the bank to resolve issue. Gave me the confirmation # at the end of the conversation. I found this site to be very helpfull.

Ok I have read all the comments for classmates and here is my story. I too was charged the annual fee without approval. I did actually get a hold of someone using the number 425-917-5000. Much to my suprise, I was not on hold too long. I was told that there was no way to get a refund on what had been charged to my credit card. I had to go into my account on classmates and change to setting from autamatic to manual for billing. She did it for me over the phone. She also sent me a comformation number that I can access should there be a charge next year without notification. I still am going to cancel my account with classmates. So many user complaints can't be wrong. I hope that future users read these complaints before they commit to anything with this company.

Sorry but I have no complaint, so far. I wanted to thank classmates for bugging me when I was off it for a while and for the special $9.95 or what ever the penny was.Because last night I rejoined and in a minute I found that the mystery picture sent me " do you know who this is", or something like that, anyway it was my brother I had not seen in near 30 years. Thank You. jenniecarroll thomas rule

After getting the automatic renewal of $39.00 that I did not want I called 425-917-5005 and was actually able to reach a live representative fairly quickly. She first offered to refund the whole amount but with a $19.95 "processing fee" which would mean I would only be getting 1/2 my money back. After I balked at that she put me on hold to see what else she could do. She then came back and said she could refund all but a $9.95 "processing fee". Since I was tired of being a raving b*tch I said that was fine. Good luck!
