Genrally only dissatisfied customers even bother to leave a comment. I have used Turbotax for 5 years and am very satisfied and any questions I had were answered expediently and accurately.

I had a problem I fought with for about 4 full hours of not being able to effectively sign in and start it up, I actually posted a negative comment shortly ago.I found a customer service number (NOT found on turbotaxes website, pitfall) called in, had to "#" my way through the prompts and was speaking to a very nice rep within a minute. All I needed was to use a different web browser! I read over & over - use firefox, which I have updated & all! ...which was preventing turbotax from running...?? Internet explorer fired it up just fine....and Im good to go.
I had a problem trying to understand my refund status. So I called and I was on hold for about 3 min and the lady answered and she was so helpful. This is my first year doing my own taxes. I have spent so much money on Jackson Hewlett that its crazy. Thanks Turbo tax forputting my mind at ease..
I have used TurboTax for several years now and only needed basic understanding of the computer. I use my own checking accounut for direct deposit and pay for my product rather than using a refund transfer. My refund is fast and accurate. Refund products and specialty cards are nice, but I believe simple is better. The customer service staff can be knowledgeable as long as i am cooperative and ask the right questions.
I think Turbo Tax is so easy that I allowed my 13 year old to do my taxes one year. You don't have to be too smart to figure the system out. It is pretty dummy proof. Unless you are a lot dumber than the average person. I have never had any issues...love love love turbo tax. The only way I would consider not using turbo tax is if I did a short sale on my home...you need a professional for this type of thing.
Once I finally got a phone number and a live person, I got great support. The guy walked me through everything I needed and wasn't rushed at all. Now if they would just improve the quality of the software for the business version so it was as easy to use as the personal one is it would be great. The business version does not guide you through everything to help you decide the right answer like the personal one does, it just asks if you have something to enter. When doing a fiduciary form, it's really hard because you don't even know what's deductible and what isn't.
Somehow after selecting "free version" I ended up with basic and turbo tax was asking me to choose a method to pay($30) for their survives and it was too late to change the type. Called 866-888-2402, kept on pressing # and it got me to a very nice representative (David) who walked me through the necessary steps to fix the problem. Great service.
After spending over an hour on hold through the published customer service number, I tried the number listed through the www.contacthelp.com website. A human answered immediately and solved my problem personally - no transfers or holds! I am delighted with how professional, courteous and effective the agent was. VERY SATISFIED.
I bought a copy of Turbotax Deluxe at a retail store. Had an issue loading it and then contacted tech support. I was on the phone for 8 minutes and by the end of the call I was setup for download of the Turbotax Deluxe application and customer support took my address so they could ship a CD-ROM as well. Very pleasant experience and I now have the application loaded.
The first time I called, I waited over 20 mins, listened to the music and gave up. The next day, I called once and within two minutes, someone answered it. Yay! I got my issue taken care of and the representative was very nice. If I were you, call when you have some time, if you've waited enough, just hang-up and try again some other time.
I sent a negative comment regarding my un-filed free e-file Turbo Tax product. After speaking with a customer service representative I found I had gotten into a different Turbo Tax product. When that one was erased and I finally got into the correct free product, all went smooth. I wanted to now add a positive comment and thank Turbo Tax for sticking with me until I got the job done. I ended up receiving a larger refund that I had anticipated and I am happy for having the availability of such a fine dependable product like Turbo Tax to help people like myself who are not tax savvy. I wanted to thank you also for assisting with erasing the original paperwork to get it into the correct Turbo Tax version. Turbo Tax is free-just like you said for the Federal filings. Erroneously purchased on line Turbotax Premier for 2008 and 2009 when I wanted only 2009. Though it was hard to find, found a phone number at this site and contacted TurboTax. They credited me for 2008 without question. Fast and efficient but I wish it was wasn't so hard to find a live person.
Turbo Tax seems to have finally resolved the problem regarding the Making Work Pay credit on Schedule M. Although it took a while, it is better late than never. I guess all good things take a bit of time especially when dealing with IRS code. Thanks for the help.
Believe it or not, I am still using dial-up (9.0). I had a major problem transmitting my Turbo Tax forms to the IRS. The error read that Turbo Tax was unable to verify an internet connection. I was in deed connected and continued to receive the same error. The technician research the problem then directed me to return to the transmission page and select the on-line tab at top of the page. From there she guided me through establishing a direct line between the software and my IP(one click). I rebooted and successfully transmitted my forms. The entire call took approx. 10 minutes. M
Just followed another commenter's advice on how to contact Turbo Tax by phone and had excellent results.
The Advice: dial 800-854-3970 and, when they ask for an "Incident ID number" press the # key. Press it again each time the recording asks again for the ID number.
(After hitting it 5 times, I got transferred to customer service who answered within 2 minutes.)
The Results: the agent, Terrell, spoke excellent English,listened carefully to each of my stated problems. Asked a couple of questions. Then walked me through the solution.
(Entire transaction completed in under 5 minutes.)
My problems: Having successfully used Turbo Tax for 15 years, I purchased the CD in early January from Amazon. Had several problems with the program itself while doing my Federal taxes; then it wanted to charge $39.95 to do my State taxes; and it had de-stabilized other operations on my computer (Windows XP Home edition)in general.
Then, in reading comments online, I found out people with Windows XP Pro had experienced crashes and major problems. Since I also had to do my Mom's taxes and she has XP Pro, I decided I'd better return Turbo Tax and use something else. It was too late (over 30 days and I'd opened the package)to return to Amazon.com so I called TurboTax to ask for a refund.
Instead, Terrell explained that the download version of TurboTax Deluxe does not cause the computer problems the CD version caused. So he set me up with the download version to use on both my own and my Mom's computer.
I just downloaded and installed it successfully and am hopeful all is well. If not, I'll be back to update! Meanwhile, I'm thoroughly satisfied with Intuit's response and customer service!
I have used Turbo Tax for 5 yrs and have been very happy however I have been unable to locate by past accounts. I call the 800# listed above and got right through to a very helpful lady named Shelly. She took the time to research and find the problem and explained how to fix it...She was very helpful and knowledgeable!!!
