Thank you for this number, it works! I was able to speak to a person after a short wait.

I went through annualcreditreport.com to order my free Equifax credit report and also purchased the additional FICO score. The Equifax website gave me an order confirmation page with a transaction number and links to my report and score. When I went to click on the link, it sent me to a member log-in page. Not having registered as a member (since I initially went through annualcreditreport.com), I did not have a user name or password for access.

The only customer service number I could find on their website(1-800-685-1111) was an automated service that provided no relevant option for my problem and did not allow me to speak with a live person. I sent an email to [email protected] and they provided me with this number: 1-866-640-2273. I had troubles getting through that day. I called it the next morning, opted for the member log-in help, had no significant problems getting through and had the situation resolved within minutes. They emailed me the necessary log-in information right away.

Thank you. I've spent two days trying to get a phone number for a live person at Equifax. My bank pulled a credit report because I'm refinancing. Since the bank pulled it there wasn't a phone number for a live person. The number you provided got me directly to a "live" person who was able to help me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I had lost my pin # and was unable after wading through the automatic info system to find a human being. I was trying to obtain a car loan and needed my credit report to be unfroze and given to my credit union. I did send an express/overnight letter to get either my pin or the acct unfrozen. To make a long story short I was able to get this # and thanks to your agent Queenie get my credit freeze lifted. Thank goodness.

Hi. Today is my second attempt to contact Equifax. I recently learned that they have reported me as being dead and that I have been denied credit.

It is a bit difficult because I am unable to contact them.

After finding this website I called:

866-493-9788 and got right through.

I was told that I needed to pull up a copy of my credit report through Equifax (i.e. pay again for their service) and fax that in with my driver's license, a utility bill, and a cover letter stating my reason for contacting them and that they would take care of this in a couple of days.

The fax numnber is: 888-729-0083

I was under the impression that the agent I spoke with was proficient in English.

Based on a comment on another website I called 866-640-2273 and pressed "30" at each prompt and got through to a real human and she was able to answer all of my questions and solve my problem.

I contacted Equifax through the number listed on their website and like everyone else here got the run around. When I was finally able to reach someone and explained that I hadn't been able to retrieve my report via annualcreditreport.com, he told me there was nothing he could do about the 3rd party website. Yet offered to "release" my credit report directly thru Equifax.com for a small fee ($9.95). When I inquired why would this work when neither my lender or I were previously able to pull it, he replied, "Well you can try accessing the report the report thru our site for $9.95 and then if it still doesn't work, then we'll be able to figure out why" WHAT!!?? So I decided to call the phn # listed on this site and in less than 6 minutes the rep was able to find the problem and fix it, without a $9.95 fee.

This phone number sent me directly to a customer service rep when I hit option 3. He set up my account and I got in just fine. I was concerned about all of the questions he asked but it worked. In hindsite, I probably should have asked for some verification of his identity to ensure legitimacy of the call center. VERY disappointed I had to even go out on a limb. Their web site is one circular path for sure.

Went to Equifax web site, clicked on FREE credit report, directs you to AnnualCreditReport.com. Selected Equifax there to receive FREE credit report, also selected $7.95 option for one-time FICO score report, completed transation and directed me to a page with links to my reports. Unfortunately, when I click on those reports, including the one I paid for, it took me back to the Equifax "customer" site with a login box. There was NO WAY TO Register and I could never receive my reports. No customer contact number until I resorted to a GOOGLE search and found this site and number above, FANTASTIC. Used the number above, got through to an Equifax rep in about 2 minutes, representative was able to provide a login and password that works and I was able to access the report.

Thank you for having these numbers available!!! The Equifax website is terrible. I was placing a freeze on my credit records, and on the final page (where I'm supposed to receive my special PIN for making future changes) there was a web server error. Also, my credit card ended up with seven duplicate charges for the freeze. I tried all the contact numbers listed on their site and each one placed you into a looping maze of long winded automated recordings. None of which had an option for speaking to someone regarding issues with a security freeze. I called the security freeze number you have listed here and got a real person right off the bat who was able to help me with the issues I experienced.

So glad to be able to talk to a live person. I wasn't able to log in, so couldn't access my report, so didn't have the special phone number or access number. Once I tried this number and pushing 3 and 0, someone helped me right away and I was able to log in and see the free report I was entitled to.

Thank you so much for posting that number! I placed a fraud alert on my credit file due to a lazy mail carrier who delivered my mail to everywhere except my home. Anyway, I have been trying to get my free credit report which should happen automatically once you place a fraud alert. I tried the website they sent me in addition to the 800# to no avail. I tried a different # and the woman gave me the number to the free annual credit report. I told her that this was different but she didn't understand. Thanks again for posting this number. After a 5 minute phone call, my report should reach me in 48 hrs.

I just connected directly to someone who was able to initiate a credit dispute over the phone. Phone: 800-846-5279

This number worked for me too. Thanks Digg!
They are actually pretty helpful when you get to talk to someone. I asked for his employee number and he gave it to me, no problem.
They do try real hard to sell you as many services as they can, though.

This actually worked. While the customer service rep was not exactly thrilled to answer my questions since I was not a "paying customer" with a little prodding they actually did help me with my questions and explained what some of the terms on the report actually mean.

It worked!

And the human being I spoke to gave me the phone number of the security department where I spoke to another human being! And the security department human being was pleasant, polite and solved my problem over the phone which is more than 2 letters mailed to Equifax did.

Thank you.

This worked. I was able to speak to a human being. I hopefully got the information I need. I have not followed through so I don't know for sure, but it was so nice to have someone to talk to.
