I have just spent 45 mins trying to uninstall this rubbish. I'm trying to recover an exchange mailbox, Trend kicks in at 10pm for its regular slowing down of the network from anywhere up to 4-6 hours, while it dangles its octupus (pii) tentacles through my frazzled brain, no where in its password protected admin screen is there a PAUSE option. These maggots pay dell or whoever 10 bux a pop to put that 60 day trial on your system.. how many suckers sign up after 60 days, without knowing the true reach of this Garbage. Then I end up at sweat shop talking to a call center wallah. I said "B for Bob, you taxi wallah moron Not B for Victor".. Any person/business I see, I highly recommend them to trash the worthless crap. ( Can't half tell it late and Trend isn't helping :-)

The only way to turn-off the auto-renewal is to sign-on to your account, that you should have setup in the registration process.

I have done so, so hopefully it won't auto-renew next year.

If it does, I'll be flaming angry.

Auto renewal should not be the default. It's against the law to store credit card information (PCI DSS), and to action payments that users have not authorised.

This company gives no opportunity for customers to contact them other than via an automated mechanism.

Lesson learn't only make payments through PayPal. They will come after these sorts of companies, and force resolutions.

I tried to stop my auto-renew last winter & it wouldn't work on the website. Now they have renewed me for another year & charged my bank account, even though I have a different debit card.

I have just bought maximum security 2 devices (26 march)
from dick smiths with a $20 cash back offer.
but l am having trouble trying to redeem $20.
l have also tried phoning, all to no avail.

For two years in a row, Trend Micro has double billed me. Even though I have a two year subscription, they keep sending messages for automatic renewal after one year. I do not authorize the charge (that I have already paid for) but they put the payment through anyway. Based on this happening to me for two years straight as well as the comments I am seeing from other consumers, I believe that Trend is engaging in unfair and deceptive practices and I plan to contact the Bureau of Consumer Protection (FTC).

I have two different accounts with Trend Micro in different locations of which one is my business. I recently purchased a notepad and tried to install Trend Micro on it but I keep getting a message that there is no app for it.
I called the phone number for customer support and got a man from India. I tried to explain what I wanted to do and that the software would not install. Without my realizing what he was doing, he had control of my computer without telling me that he was doing it. He installed several files and opened several others before he told me that my computer was being hacked and it was unsecured. This took about an hour at which point he told me that he could fix all my problems for $399.95. Again I tried to explain to him that my computer was working fine and that this notepad was only a few days old. He said it didn't matter and that it was infected just the same. When I told him I didn't want to spend $399.95 and all I wanted to do was install his software onto my notepad and that I wanted time to think about it, he said that if I called back tomorrow, the price would double!
I never got my point across to him that my computer was fine and all I wanted to do was add Trend Micro to my notepad. I never asked for an evaluation! I disconnected him and immediately deleted the files that he installed. Tomorrow, I will try to call customer service and file a complaint!

I have spent this entire day standing by my computer while representatives of Trendmicro and Microsoft have research why my computer was causing me problems. Just a short time ago, the Microsoft representative by the name of "Nitesh" informed me that it was the Trendmicro software that had caused my computer to malfunction. I paid him $159.95 for a complete diagnosis and research to repair these problems.

Since my problem stemmed from your Trendmicro security software, I am requesting the return of my $49.95 subscrioption renewal entered into on 3 Jan 2014. Please advise when the credit has been issued. Thank you.

I have a charge for 71.95 on my account that I did not authorize. I want it refunded immediately...I do not use Trend Micro any longer and you had not right to renew this without my authorization. You stole my money as far as I'm concerned and it will be turned over to the authorities if it is not refunded by 12/27.

I have a paid subscription to trend micro.that will not expire for 9 m0nths.i bought a new computer.i have been trying to install my trend micro on my new computer for about 2 months now.every time I get a person probably from india.who tells me it can not be installed because of conflics on my computer.he took command of my computer and found hundreds of problems.he was surprised when itold hime the computer was only 2 days old.he said he would connect me to a technician.to fix it for me,for a charge.

I have spent HOURS trying to find an actual phone number and person for handling a customer service billing problem Micro Trend created. I don't want to "pay a technician" to do this! Micro Trend just "renewed" my Titanium anti-virus this month (Nov. 2013) even though I am paid up till Nov. 2014. I'm afraid if I cancel this renewal, I will also cancel what I've already paid for as both are the same code number. How do I get hold of them to get a credit on this unnecessary "renewal" and straighten this out so it doesn't happen again next November!

I just tried to renew my antivirus, paid, and it wouldn't download. I called tech support who spent 20 minutes and accomplished nothing. He wouldn't listen to the problem, put me on hold when I asked for his supervisor and never came back. I called back and had the same problem only this tech wanted me to pay $120 for a one time lifetime antivirus. The next morning I called customer support and they also wanted to remote into my computer. When I said no that I just wanted a credit to my account he hung up on me. If Trend Micro endorses this type of activity, I will find a new company. There are many out there.

I am done. Even with nearly a year left. Tried to do the free upgrade to 2014. Got as far as the removal of the current 2012. Then the problems hit. Finally got through tech service who made a show of analyzing my issue. Wanted to put me with "senior tech" who would fix everything.
FOR $120!!!!!! Second time this has happened. And i swear that after they do their remote analysis my computer is worse than before. I truly believe they may be injecting problems.

Sorry Trend. I am over it. AVG free is better and you get better customer service for free!

I'll never use trend again.

I get pop ups on my computer now regulary from trend to advertise their 2014 antivirus and try to get me to upgrade...

these are getting annoying - Trend is supposed to protect me from pop-ups and this kind of thing, not infiltrate my system with their own spam.

By the way - reporting fixed executables as a virus and attempting to remove them from peoples computers without first asking the user is pretty "American".

Got infected by TROJ BRE...it turns out that what I paid for doesn't remove virus's it only prevents you from entering the sites by presenting a warning drop down box, THIS IS'NT what I was LEAD TO BELIEVE the product was when I originally purchased it! So eventually after almost 3 years I got a virus, (the one listed above), and there was actually no ability; no mechanism in the program to remove it or any other virus for that matter; how did I manage to go so long with out getting infected before this I don't know.

So when I contacted 'Trend' they directed me to their technician on chat; because they don't have a service during the weekend which is when I discovered my virus problem.

THE TECHNICIANS REFUSED TO TELL ME THAT MY PROGRAM COULDN'T REMOVE THE TROJEN VIRIUS, we went round and round with every one of their answers being evasive or completely off topic; YES Ronald and Rachael, you were evasive, (they actually admitted not their real names), and did everything to sound competent and nice but never answered a single question not once about how to remove the virus. So eventually I figured it out after 1.5 hours of chat, there was actually no way of doing it and that I must upgrade or refuse to be Scammed and purchase another Brand Protection Program.

AFTER REFUSING SO MANY OFFERS TO PURCHASE EXPENSIVE UPGRADES; their whole purpose was to cause me to buy upgrades, I eventually retired.

I PAID GOOD MONEY BECAUSE I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE THAT 'TREND MICRO TITANIUM' WOULD REMOVE VIRUS'S AND I WILL NOT PAY MORE FOR THAT ABILITY. I WILL NOT BE HUSTLED.

I will be contacting them on monday and demanding a refund. I will be contacting 'Consumer Affairs' and the Ombudsmen for Communications. I have a copy of each of the 2 full chat conversations as evidence.

They are evasive, deceiving con-artists; I intend to purchase another Brand of Virus Protection.

P.S. They pulled the 'renew' scam on me 1.75 years ago and I let it slide, WHEN THEY DID IT AGAIN LAST YEAR AND I MADE A FUSS, I FOUND OUT THAT YOU MUST CONTACT THEM AND REQUEST THAT THEY REMOVE THE 'AUTO-RENEW' FROM YOUR FILE, WHICH I DID.

To all readers don't take the chance, they seem to be a big company with many reputable 'Computer Dealers' selling their product, but like Rotten Food they will leave a Bad taste in your mouth.

Trend Micro keeps sending me ads for their products. Probably because I bought one of their products back in 2006. It’s odd, however because I consider them to be THIEVES AND PIRATES! Thieves because I have never been able to get their product to work, Pirates because they stole my Norton disk and never sent me my rebate. They should do the world a favor and leave the software business

Will never use Trend Micro again. Twice in the last 2 months, Trend has charged my credit card without authorization for a "renewal" that was not asked for. Had one disputed and they removed, only to charge again 2 months later.

I purchased Trend micro 1 week ago...since instalation I have been getting 12-20 unwanted EM's each day. some which I believe are scam.
Prior to 'Trend' I ran AVG security with Malwarebytes, never a problem, just one or two unwanted EM's occaisionly.

I have paid for a renewal at our university bookstore and yet keep getting messages about an invalid credit card! Then, when I try to contact you by email and type a message, I have to interpret ridiculous symbols into letters to make a word. I cannot blieve that anyone could possibly respond properly - the whole thing is non-sensical! It makes me wonder whether you provide us with computer protection when we cannot even contact you about a problem!

I have never been treated so badly in my life with Trend Micro System. I had a problem and was told to update my system and tried to do so. I tried and it would not take. I got a message to go to this particular site. I did so and the chat site was great except I could not input anything or respond. I called the phone number and was hung up on three different times. This is not what I expected to happen.

The "service" you offer is beyond disappointing.Even though my "coverage" for Trend anti virus/spyware is still in force, the technicians have been unable to fix it. It is not working and hasn't been for a long time. You can see the recent history in your notes that efforts to reinstall my program has failed and I am without protection I've been paying for. I get continual security alerts. I will not renew my coverage.

I have been trying for 3 months to get an unauthourzed charge for an automatic download off my credit card. Once you find a phone number, each call gets more run around. You get transferred to several people, but none are capable of helping you.

My problem with Trend Micro is with the charge for the automatic for a computer that no longer exists. I have been trying for 3 months to get theis reconciled but each call only gets more run around. Folks should keep away from their products.
