My son (just turned 5) sat in the shopping cart at the checkout point, the cashier asked him to climb out of the cart. My son was slow to respond his request and did not want to leave the cart, then the cashier became impatient at me, demanded me to remove my child and started to giving me a lecture about his scanner etc. he was extremely rude and condescending.

Does he have right to demand my child leave the shopping cart? Is there a store wide policy that explicitly states that you have to remove your kids from shopping cart at checkout? If there is a policy displayed in the store we would comply but as any parent knows, it is much easier if the kid stay in the cart the whole time to save the parent headaches of chasing them around - they could run out in the parking lot and get injured while parent is paying.

I am very happy to see other posts here with people expressing their displeasure in the way Trader Joes is handling the Covid crisis.
Last week I went to the store here in Calabasas California and was not just shocked to see customers who have removed their masks, but the employees!
Are you kidding me?
I have always felt a sort of peace with the way Trader Joes has run their business, with an emphasis on the healthier side, so you can understand my shock when I saw the outright lack of consideration to the patrons by not wearing masks to protect themselves and others.
It is beyond my understanding, when you see over 600,000 people have lost their lives and its worse now than ever!
Sad and disappointing, you can do better...

We purchased a bag of Trader Joe's frozen broccoli florets in the Newport News, Va. store.
They were awful.
There were no directions on the bag so I microwaved them for 3 minutes.
Bitter, tough and rubbery.
Whoever your supplier is they aren't doing you any favors with this product.

As a loyal (one might say addicted) Trader Joe's customer I am taken aback and disappointed at. The decision to immediately discontinue the mask wearin requirement in your stores. Outside the store, I am a Research neuroscientist and, unfortunately, also owner of a body housing a compromised immune system and millions of unfriendly cancer cells that share my TJ meals and refuse to go away despite the wonders of modern science..

From the start of the coronovirus pandemic, TJ' was THE leader in the supermarket business by rapidly deploying a range of infection control measures.and most importantly enforcing them; all the while maintaining that helpful, friendly TJ style. Masks were required (no jive talking your way in), customer numbers strictly limited, marked required spacing in lines, constant cleaning, Senior/spooked people hours and a host of minor, rather silly but genuine measures were also put in place. TJ's Was the only store I where I felt safe enough to shop in the flesh. Everywhere else it was delivery or preying on friends.

Now you are still the leader, but sadly in the wrong direction, Everybody is tired of this stuff, but the pandemic is not over. Vaccination is taking us to a better place, but this is the time to be carefu. There is no way of knowing if the unmasked hoards in the store are fully vaccinated. There will be the forgetful, the misunderstanders, the liars, the hoax theory believers, the "who cares", and a small number of vaccine non-responders in the mix of mostly honest, fully vaccinated people.

Your employee's are at particular risk. They have to work and come into close contact with hundreds of customers daily. But customers will also be unnecessarily exposed. I will move TJ's out of my self-shop catagory and cut back to avoid burdening friends.

Please, this is one time when it is good to follow rather than lead? We have survived a years, let's be prudent a ndsee how things shake out over the next few months. Don't lead the charge into a third (Fourth? I lose track) wave of CoViD infection.

Thanks for reading my rant (assumption) and please consider rolling back your policy on masks and distancing. I want to come back and enjoy my visits.

Best and be well, Karl

What were you thinking? The first to cast a decision on the rushed CDC guidelines???? Do you really want to be included with the same misguided thinking as Walmart? This is not the Trader Joe's I've come to frequent. Shame on you for selling out to the "almighty dollar". You have to realize that upwards of 80% of unmasked customers will be non vaccinated. What about young children and the India variant that will soon cross our shores. I'm moving my business, not that it will matter. I expected much more of your brand!

Will you please explain clearly, loudly, honestly, completely how your no mask required policy relates to local, state, regional and other mask mandates still in place? That is a BIG missing piece. Costco, Walmart announcements addressed this clearly and succinctly.

Dear Trader Joe's,
I'm writing to ask you to restore "Fig Bites" to the shelves.
I'm a longtime loyal shopper at TJ's. From time to to time you've discontinued one of my very favorite foods. About 15 years ago, it was the curry paste (not sauce), you got rid of. I still miss it. About 6 or 7 years ago you discontinued the chocolate orange and the chocolate raspberry sticks I adored. Please bring them back too.
But most important please bring back the "Fig Bites". I need them for my digestion. I bought a package every week.
Your recently introduced "Fig Cookies" are NO substitute - either taste wise or health wise. The Fig Cookies have almost double the saturated fat (8% vrs 5%), more carbs, more sugars, and a titch more salt. The Cookies seem to have more wheat and less fig. Please bring back the "Fig Bites".

Was just at Trader Joe's and had very bad unacceptable experience with a teller He was rude, disrespectful and unlike most of the services that I've received in the past from trader Joe's. The gentleman was not wearing a name tag and I'm a personal level it was very disturbing and it will ham for our trips to Trader Joe's, just wanted to let you know thank you

What is wrong with the chicken tenders for dog? The ones I recently received look like they were cooked on a waffle griddle and have white strips thru the pieces. I am afraid to give this to my dog since she recently broke a tooth on the last one. Has the cooking method changed and have other ingredients - feather - been added?

I was in the Trader Joe's in Syracuse/Dewitt, NY yesterday. I waited in line to get in because of limits on the number of customers in the store during Covid. The store removed all baskets because of Covid. I was told to deposit my items in a basket at the checkout and then step back because of Covid. I was told to stand on an X on the floor and away from the cashier because of Covid. I was not allowed to bring in my reusable bag because of Covid. When I asked the cashier why the staff doesn't use the time customers are waiting in line outside to educate the customers about how to wear a mask (people in front of me and behind me in line had masks around their necks; in the store, many customers had their masks covering only their mouths, not their noses), I was told they can't tell people what to do and to have a nice day!

Dear Trader Joe's,

I'm personally writing to compliment your friendly staff and excellent customer service that I consistently receive each time I Have visited several of your stores in different areas. I am also impressed with many of your new products-especially your new dairy-free strawberry (oat) ice cream!? However, with that said I have only one question...where is the vanilla and chocolate??? Can you please convince the manufacturer of this product to make other flavors? (If possible). Besides autum is approaching which could mean a dairy-free pumpkin-spice oat ice cream??...Just a small suggestion...?

Redlands Calif requires all to wear a mask and employees do a good job. However Customers are not obeying the rules and when i made a complaint to Employers they said they cannot police customers. The store is crowded and no social distance.

Was in the Trader Joe's in Chapel Hill North Carolina. I was with seniors and we all are taking precautions against Covid 19 by wearing masks. Noticed several employees not wearing masks or any facial protective safeguard not even face shields. This was after we had been in the store shopping for 20 minutes. Some of these folks were even doing checkout and stocking in close quarters. This is unacceptable. Trader Joe's made some excuse that they had special dispensation from masks but seriously from face shields too! Besides if that was the case they should be working either outside where the air circulates or away from customers. What's even more outrageous is that Trader Joe's had nothing posting as you enter the store warning customers - especially senior citizens - that they were allowing massless employees inside. Not only is Trader Joe's harming their own employees but they are doing the community a tremendous disservice. I will be spreading the word among my senior friends. Horrible. Tom Darling

Cust Serv rude defensive ill mannered. Didn't listen to feedback chose to argue with me instead. Managers no longer listen to feedback. I did not call to argue which is what happened. I called to give feedback.
The staff at one time was great. No more. It is sad.

I visited your store on West Alabama in Houston, Texas at about 2:00 pm Today and temperature is in the high 90's and I had to wait 25 minutes in the heat. I am a senior 76 years ago, I also am handicapped I have permanent handicap plates on my car that identifies me as such. I always use a cane. When I spoke to the store captain, Mr. Fuller why I had to wait 25 minutes and he told me that I could come back between 8:00 and 9:00 when the seniors are allowed in without wait time. I told him but I'm handicapped and he insisted that I still had to wait my turn in line. Inside the store there was a line of at least 20 persons waiting to checkout. Which means I would be in the store another wait. He sat me in a chair and I felt like I was in "Time Out" waiting for my turn to check out. What is Trader Joe's handicap policy? I want to know if Trader Joe's is following the Federal guidelines regarding handicap customers. I just wanted to buy 4 bunches of flowers. Could the captain just said come in and get your flowers and leave and he would have had a happy customer. I left almost in tears. Please feel free to call me regarding this incident.

Hello,
I'm a senior at high risk during this COVID-19 pandemic. I am very unhappy with TJs NOT providing curb side pick up. The message this sends is seniors are not important to TJ. I shopped almost exclusively at Trader Joes before COVID-19. Now I'm buying from local vendor who provide curbside pick up Since I don't feel that Trader Joe's has been very loyal to us, seniors in particular why would I go back and shop there after COVID-19 ?

While shopping for my compromised neighbors I had my iPhone radio on in my pocket listening to news and I was told I had to turn down as pet a customer request. I'm disgusted that they can play music in the store that not everyone likes and meanwhile let petty customers complain about my UK radio news in my pocket. This is a violation of my civil rights
If I was yelling or had super load music on their request would be valid

Why aren't all people working in Trader Joe's wearing masks. Went into Federal Way store. The bagger hacking and sneezing, no mask. I commented he should have a mask on. He said they make it so he can't breathe. Does that mean none of us wearing them can't breathe? I call BULL. no one is above getting this virus or being a carrier. Apparently Trader Joe's does not care about the community that keeps them in business. Rethinking shopping with them again. Marlenes right down the road.

Called corporate to follow up on in-store concerns and the customer service representative said I am wasting their time, would not redirect me to her manager, was extremely combative and then hung the phone up in my face.

Your manager Howard in the Metropolitan Ave store needs to change his attitude towards customers. I have been to other stores an the managers are so pleasant. He speaks to customers with such hatred. This man does not belong in Trader Joe's especially as a manager.
