McAfee's Customer service is horrendous. A complete run around. Once they take your money its difficult to rescind. Have gone back and forth on the cite to cancel charge with them. Have called the bank and Stopped Charge. I do not want the service in any way shape or manner. Will not allow me to get to My Account. Have wasted a good part of this day.

OMG , I just got off the McAfee customer support in Mumbai. It was the Rudest most arrogant experience. I called twice . The 2nd time the agent told me to never call again. They were condecending & had zero respect for women. Assumed I knew nothing about my computer. Refused to her my concern for giving out my private number . I don't want to go back to Norton but this was awful. I am so sour on Macafee right now. He wanted to caution about hidden charges & I said i wouldn't pre approve them . He TOLD ME OFF full stop.

The product is OK so far. It was the installation that really bothers me. I buy the product,go to install,and they tell me contact a certain number...I did,only to learn that my computer was missing 2 drives. Now the customer service workers ALL tried to tell me that I needed a experienced technician and would cost me 50 dollars...here's the problem...the same drives they said I needed 50 dollars to pay an expert to install?,...I got them installed and running for FREE. NO EXPERT NEEDED...NO 50 DOLLARS NEEDED. JUST MY MICROSOFT ACCOUNT,AND MICROSOFT WEB PAGE. And, then she got mad because I didn't want her services. VERY unprofessional. Makes me wonder how many people mcafee service workers have ripped off?...better question...how much money have they earned making people pay for what's free?...maybe my lawyer would understand better?...about to find out...

McAfee will keep billing you yearly regardless of whether you canceled their service or not. They tried to bill me this month (July 2015) for their service I have not used in years. The email address they had for me was for an email address I have not used in nine years. They held on to my credit card number illegally.

Impossible to cancel the service. Charged my credit card 2 years after I stopped using the service and never pro-actively agreed to extend.

Product: McAfee SecurityCenter via Dell



On July 16, 2015, I tried renewing the above product through the pop-up that keeps appearing at every boot after expiry of the product. I tried renewing using my HDFC Bank Credit Card. But the renewal did not happen. I tried again. The renewal did not work out again.

To my surprise, the next day when I checked my Credit Card Statement, I had been charged INR 1390.00/- twice for the renewal attempts and the description lines read: "MCAFEE *INTEL SECURITY 866-622-3911".

I contacted McAfee and was told that the amount never got credited in their accounts and I should contact my bank.

I contacted my bank and they said that the merchant (McAfee) has claimed the amount on both occasions.

Certainly, one of you is wrong. I don't care who that is. I don't need information on McAfee products. I need my money back: 1390 + 1390 = 2780.

It is extremely disgraceful that without actually renewing the product, you have deducted the money and are taking no step towards crediting the same. Today is July 20, 2015.

Besides, how can you possibly charge twice for a renewal when a product PRACTICALLY CANNOT be renewed twice?

I need a reply and my money.

just bought hp laptop decided to get mcafee antivirus since the laptop came withe free trial well guess what something wrong that according to the forginers that answer the customer service phones i need something fixed before i can install it go figure.they said they could fix it for a fee...go figure... i want my money back how do i return it?

I rang McAfee after strugling for months with loads of spam on my Email & what seemed like various viruses. I woman answered & said she would fix everything & kept repeating that. She took control of my computer after taking all my contact details. Then she told me again & again that I should get a warranty, asking me if i knew a company where i could get one. then she kept asking me when I last had a technician check my PC. Even when I told her she still kept asking. I felt she was wasting my time & doing nothing. Then she stared all the speech about getting everything sorted. Then she said I would have to pay. I said I didn't want to. So she stared to be quite nasty saying you were happy to have it fixed if you got it done for free. Each time she asked me a question she said "i want you to tell me the truth" as if I would waste my time telling her lies.i was getting very tired by now so I asked her to get off my computer as I was exhausted. She left my PC in safe mode, no internet connection, no screensaver, nothing. I had to find the No.ring back & got a nice young man to get me back to where I was before I had the misfortune to call McAffee. There was no record of who I spoke to on Ist call.

I have not had McAfee for two years as my company allow me to get Kaspersky for free at home. Imagine my surprise when £59.99 came out my bank in May. I went online and did the online chat. They then rang me and pointed out that I had a Trojan Virus csrss.exe, even showing me a website that said it was a Trojan. They then said that their expert team could remove this for £200. When I asked why Kaspersky and McAfee (no programmes on my pc for McAfee) did not pick this up I was told it was an internet virus and that my husband's laptop, my iPhone and iPad were also infected and that I must have this cleaned. The final straw and insult to my intelligence was "if I purchased a new pc then this too would be infected by this internet virus I had". I am still pursuing my money and will be asking the bank to retrieve it. PLEASE DO NOT USE MCAFEE NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY!!!!

I was prompted that my trial livesafe subscription only has 7 days left and I could purchase a full year subscription for £19.99.

I chose the paypal option to pay it and have been having problems ever since.

I am very disappointed and fed up with the problems I am experiencing and it is putting me off wanting to have McAfee anywhere near my pc. You can't even put in an email on their help page, all I get is 'an error occurred' and I'm sick to death of it.

You withdrew monies for renewal protection fee from my account

in February . We were unable to get the protection downloaded. I sent email asking for tech support providing numbers, etc... to this day nobody has contacted me. Therefore, I keep getting
popups saying that I am not covered and my computer is at risk and it wants me to go thru the process again SO U CAN TAKE MY MONEY AGAIN FOR NO SERVICES RENDERED.
SOMEONE CALL ME SO WE MAY GET EITHER MONIES REFUNDED OR SERVICES THAT WAS PURCHASED AND WE WERE CHARGED FOR... What's w this company? I FEEL LIKE THIS REQUEST iS YET GOING TO BE ANOTHER RUN AROUND, except one can't get a run around if you can't reach the person who OWES YOU.

I was a customer for many years & when the reminder that it was due soon for renewal always renewed ther and then. However this year I didn't want to renew so tried to get into the system to cancel. My ID and password came back as not recognised. I tried again with no luck so I found the telephone no (after the one the bank had said it was no longer in use) and sspoke to a gentleman as I had discovered that the money had been taken anyway. I told him what had happened and he said I had to alter my email address online. When I tried that I had to sign on with my old one which still said it was not recognised. I told him it wouldn't let me in and he said that in this case he would alter it for me . He asked for my card no and the 3 digit no on the back and said they would refund my money but it would take 15 days. The 15 days ran out on Monday 11th May 2015. I have still not received a refund of the £74.99 that you took off my card. This has caused me a lot of problems. I feel that I have been defrauded of this money. The account is closed and deleted from my laptop. I would like the money to be refunded now as an urgent matter before I have to contact trading standards. I think that taking money without me pressing the renew button is taking money by false pretences especially as I had told your representative that I no longer required the account.

Since purchasing this subscription, Ive had nothing but problems with it. When i first bought my laptop it came with a free trial and everything was working great and smooth, but when i paid for a yearly subscription, the quality of the service went down hill, and quickly. Even though McAfee says my computer is "protected" I am constantly getting pop ups and virus notifications, it even says that google chrome is a virus. It has also caused my computer to slow down drastically; if i would of know that the quality of their services where this terrible i would of never purchased it. So if anyone one is thinking of purchasing a subscription from McAfee DON'T DO IT OR ELSE YOU'LL REGRET IT.

I was contacted in Dec. of a 30 day notice of renewal. On that notice there was a address to click on to be able to cancel my subscription. I even got a confirmation that my subscription would be cancelled. Thank goodness I saved all my correspondence because, when my husband was just balancing our check book there was a hundred and seventy something charge from McAfee renewing my subscription. Of course I called them immediately. Got the run around. I talked to 3 different employees, with the last telling me that someone will call me back within the hour. Of course no one did. I am very upset over this, but will get to the bottom of it.

MacAfee Techmaster auto billed my Visa without authority for over $200. Trying to contact in pursuit of a refund proved impossible. Beware Techmaster!

I purchased a new alienware laptop in january and it came with mcafee trial service and everything was working great. When it expired i waited a little while and eventually purchased a 1 year subscription of mcafee total protection on sale for $24.99 which i thought was a great deal. ive been having issues with pop-ups and junk coming through on google chrome and i made the mistake of calling it a "virus" when i called them for tech support. i had to call them because i wasnt able to find the download link on my account, but since i used the word "virus" they immediately told me that i was unable to download the software because of the virus i had on my computer and that i needed to call there virus removal team. i explained to them that i just wanted to download the software i had purchased and then to run it so that it could remove any issues that i was having. they again told me that i COULD NOT download there service until the virus was removed. I knew that what they were telling me was a complete lie. i called there virus removal team and after 30 mins of them going through my computer and explaining nothing they told me that i had to pay $130-180 dollars for them to fix the problem. This was also a lie. After several attempts to get them to tell me where i could download the product i already purchased, they told me where to find the link and imagine my surprise when it downloaded with no problem. Then i ran the program and it found a few issues and fixed them no problem. so to sum this all up they tried to tell me that i couldnt download there product without going through there virus removal team(lie) and that it cost $130 to fix my computer. Turns out that i was missing a few files and that i did NOT have a virus. They never even checked to see if i actually had a virus in the first place. Im extremely pissed off because they were just trying to get me to pay more money to use another one of there services and they did there best to NOT help me download the product i had just purchased. i had to figure it out myself and call them out on it before they admitted that i could download it. Moral of the story is make sure you actually have a virus before u ask them for help, because whether you do or dont there going to lead you to believe that they are the only ones who can fix it and it sure does cost a lot of money. ive lost complete trust in this company, they have obviously outsourced there tech support and they are trained to deceive you and pump as much money as they can out of you. Hope this helps someone else out!

My laptop is covered by McAfee until 27/07/15 but I purchased a year's cover from 16/04/15 not realising I was already covered. I would like to either extend my cover, with this money, starting 28/07/15 or have a refund for £39.99 on my credit card account. Please will you action this and email to let me know which option you have actioned? Thank you.
Also, is it usual for your people who answer the phone to enquiries to ask for remote access to a laptop?

We purchased Tech Master on 11th November 2014
recommended by your representive. When we tried to use it yesterday we were told that there was no Tech Master at the price of £80 we explained that it was taken out of our account on 11th November 2014 clearly marked on statement McAfee Tech Master.We were asked for more money which I refused to give I said all I asked for was Tech Master provide the service we paid for and what your advert says you do. The young lady went on about this and that, we said we only wanted what Tech Master should do. If you checked back we have McAfee Total Protection taken out since 2011 and before this. We are just after renewed our annual payment which we now regret, seeing the treatment Tech Master provides. First the young lady said we haven't taken out Tech Master but when we said about Direct Debit, she wanted to consult with Supervisor but came back about paying more money. If this is not fixed we want full refund of our payment £80 back in our account by 22nd April 2015, as we have no faith in Tech Master when you have no records of our payment. Then asking for more money. All we want is Tech Master carry out what their advert online says as soon as possible. Surely when you pay by direct debit card there should be records the same as ours. If Tech Master wants to live up to their advert, then carry out our service without delay. We can't put McAfee Software correctly unto our laptop and other programmes. The laptop is running slow, so the Ball is in your court.It was after we said we had proof of payment then extra money was talked about, we are only asking for Tech Master to carry out their service to us nothing else.

I called because I bought my new year's subscription instead, hitting the renew button. I was now getting pop ups saying I was not covered by McAfee. Called the only number I could find. I seemed to have gotten a bully. Telling me all the things wrong with my computer, when I told him that until next week I only had 20 cents in the bank. Then of course you can call back next week. I had to remind him again why I had called. I wanted the pop ups from McAfee to stop. Now suddenly he was able to fix it. Next year will have saved money and will get someone besides McAfee to protect me.

I have used MacAfee for the last 10 years. Today they told me I had no virus protection. I thought my protection had expired, so a resubscribed, and they thanked me. Then i checked actual expiration date and it is in Sept. I found it impossible to contact anybody at MacAfee, I guess they don't have any phones and don't accept e-mail. I called one of the numbers MacAfee suggests and she said she would take care of it after i subscribed to their multihundred dollar service. She told me I had a virus. (Surprise!) Isn't than what MacAfee is supposed to take care of? I cancelled autorenewal. Anybody know a good virus protection service I can subscribe to?
