Been a customer for many many years. First time to call customer service and got a very rude Representative and hung up the call while I was still talking. I just need a quick answer regarding my subscription. McAfee should not let this kind of person to represent the company or don't get him near the Customer Service area.

absolutely horrible. the most unprofessional, rude, disrespectful people i have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. they have no idea what they're talking about, they constantly give you back and forth on stuff and never will give you a straightforward answer. they have no problem hanging up on you or just blatantly disconnecting from your online chat with no notice. they are absolutely ignorant excuses of "customer service".

I have talked with this company multiple times over the past two years. To find out today after an automatic renew of 200 dollars after my original purchase of under 100 dollars (that i have off on both my phone and computer) that i have being charged for 50 devices although i would use two. This company will do anything to steal your money. You can get the same services for less than $20 for 1 or 2 devices. Dont waste your money and dont let a company scam you out of 100s of dollars.

I called them with a problem a few months ago and they said they could only help me if I bought another service. I uninstalled the product two months ago with their knowledge but of course they are trying to "auto-renew" me. I've gone into my account and their link to customer service for cancelling comes back unable to find the page.. I will somehow get this done but clearly it's going to bed a hassle. It turns out McAfee IS a virus!

My McAfee antivirus subscription had expired on my Macbook, and I didnt want to renew due to poor tech support. I called them, for assist to remove the program, which they did, but by the time that my call was over and they had removed the program, my Macbook would no longer connect to wifi. Apple was unable to resolve this. I ended up buying a new Macbook, and am telling my story far and wide.

I never authorized a renewal and when I called the person could not speak English and wouldn't cancel my subscription, I stopped payment,what a ridiculous co.!!

McAfee has the WORST support PERIOD. I signed up yesterday for an "unlimited" plan and asked for their PC Optimizer tool which is supposed to come with their "10" license plan. The Agent who was supposedly named "joe" said that he'd give me two codes and all I had to do was call McAfee's "tech-service" group after signing up to get the PC-Optimizer. This didn't make sense to me because why couldn't he just e-mail me a link to the PC-Optimizer software and I'll just enter the code/s? So I took him at his word and wrote down all the info (and codes) and installed McAfee. Between talking to "joe" and the next three support agents I'LL NEVER GET THOSE THREE HOURS BACK. What a circus of fragmented explanations and HORRIFIC English. After repeatedly explaining myself over and over and over and over......I gave up. I couldn't get what I signed up for so I cancelled my plan and got refunded the dollars I spent. I also read numerous reviews from "supposed" un-biased independent reviewers and the general consensus was that McAfee was in the top 4 or 5 Antivirus programs. This could in fact be true because of some of the features that they offer, but if you can't communicate with a support agent or get lied to from the onset then what's the point? To say this was one of the worst experiences I have had in years would be an understatement. Maybe, just maybe McAfee will bring some of their support to North America so you can understand who you're talking to and comprehend the information they're trying to pass on. I doubt it because no matter what company you talk to it's almost like you need an interpreter to understand the services they're offering. The only thing that would make a McAfee experience worse would be if Comcast/Xfinity purchased them......

I have deleted this program from my computer. It took me close to three hours and three folks to get a cancellation, refund, and have my card number removed from their site.
I did get the refund. However charged $33.55 (originally the cost was way much higher) when I said I no longer wanted to deal with them and wanted the card number removed. I am still getting notifications from McAfee.
I have gone to another virus defender. This company sure is difficult to deal with. They do not take "NO" for an answer.
Think twice before dealing with them. I am probably going to have to talk to the bank about a new account.

Used for years until I discovered it was £15 to renew for a year on Amazon instead of £71 McAfee were about to charge me. When I phoned I got a rude operator who told me thats the way it is with lots of things today!
It seems new customers get the deals! loyal customers get ripped off. So I switched to Norton for £15 and will probibly switch again next year for a deal.

Do yourself a favour and don't use this so called product. It simply does not work on that little known operating system Mac OS X.Spent hours with support to no avail, tried reinstalling recently as an email informed me that should NOW solve the problem- it does not. I wrongfully assumed I could get it to work on a fire tablet or fire tv. Apparently they are very sorry- I'd prefer a refund over an apology.

Friday December 2- 2022 Will never do business with this company again completely blocking and canceling all my subscriptions due to one customer service person: Janice at 877-312-4079 . She said the call was being recorded and a I was shocked and could not get a word in. First she told me she could refund me the lower subscription I just paid for today and after I heard her ranting on and on I told her I actually wanted to cancel my account and then she went into total retaliation , telling me she would NOT refund me and I would need to call customer services. Shocked that this was recorded, all the recording is Janice talking at me , extremely unprofessional. Time 3 pm Mountain Time. United States. Suggesting retraining

mcaffe renewed me at a high rate with protection a dont need , they are charging me for 10 devices when I only have 1 , charging me for VPN which I cont need etc. They DID NOT provide a an itemized account of what Ihave and price per item . NB: this could be considered illegal . Customer servive is window dressing they do not coerrect errors . OH, foe an anti- virus provider to to have a http contact VS https:// is dispicable . Just a plain horrible customer service. They are just trying to get you off the hook on any minor technicality, and absolutely are unwilling to help.

1/10 would not reccoment using any of their products.

They are a scam!!!!! They charged my account $140 unauthorized!! I canceled my subscription months ago and now have to cancel my bank card bc of them. Then they tried to sell me something else while trying to get my money back!! How can I turn them in??

McAfee automatically renews your software each year at full retail price of $99.99., then makes it very difficult to cancel the charge requiring you to go to their website and find a cancellation form and send it in and wait for it to be processed.

There are many other product for anti virus on the market that are more effective and cost less. I would never buy anything from this company again.

Customer service is USELESS. I was unable to reinstall on my HP laptop running Windows 10. Contact customer support it said. All you get is a telephone number in the US which does not work or contact community. I ended my membership. But I cannot contact ayone to get a refund. I am covered until June they say - but I am not covered on my HP Laptop!! Catch 22 wouldnt you say. This is TERRIBLE.

I last used McAfee in 2018 then I went to AVG. I have no services with McAfee as my online account can attest to. I was however just billed $146.04 for my yearly subscription for non-existent services. I phoned McAfee and after a very frustrating hour, two different support servers (the one meant to call me back took my number down wrong so I had to go through the whole process again)at least 2 or 3 supervisors I'm still no closer to getting a credit on my account. McAfee systems say my cc is invalid for the credit, but it was valid enough for the charge! I am now waiting once again for a call back that should have been in 8 minutes which is now a half an hour. And your company is virus protection!?! In attempting to give me the credit, I had to punch my credit card number into my phone to facilitate the credit but their system told me over and over: Invalid cedit card. My guess is that someone in McAfee may be using old data and ccs to line their own pockets because no one there can find the $146.04 charge, yet they can find my account with zero services and still bill me. I am beyond frustrated but have remained polite and calm. This is 1000% their issue and yet I'm wasting a day trying to get this rectified. It truly astounds me. Buyer beware: NEVER purchase McAfee for your PC protection. They can't even protect your credit card info.

I am in South Africa and have been trying with great difficulty to get a refund. This is within the 30 day window period. Your refund policy is just a load of lies and deceit.

Don't trust this company

I have had a nightmare with McAfee. My subscription was due for renewal, and after looking at their website I realised that I was paying for 10 devices, when I only need 2. I phoned them and after waiting for over 20 mins managed to speak to someone who changed my subscription to one that covered 3 devices. So far OK.

A few days later I noticed that they had taken 2 payments from my credit card - one for the more expensive option I had cancelled (and was therefore taken fraudulently) and another payment for the 2nd cheaper option. Incidentally both subscriptions were taken before the renewal date. I phoned them, again having to wait over 20 minutes for an agent to be available. They said I had 2 accounts (as if it was my fault), but agreed to refund the subscription they should not have taken, which they have. I said I was not happy that this had happened and asked to speak to someone senior - they said no-one was available but that someone would call me back - no one has called me back. I can only assume that they don't care about their customers.

A week or so later, I logged into my PC to be confronted with a pop-up saying my McAfee had expired and I was no longer protected. Again I phoned them and had to wait ages for someone to answer. They told me it was my fault because I had not reinstalled McAfee. No one had told me I had to do this and I was given no instructions on how to do it. After getting very angry with them on the phone they transferred me to someone in support who has, I think, sorted it.

Today, some 2 weeks later, I received an email from them saying that my subscription is about to expire, despite my having renewed it to December 2023 and paid for the privilege. Once again had to phone them, hung on for ages before getting through to someone, who said don't worry that email relates to your old subscription. I just don't trust this company at all. If I find that my PC is no longer protected I will be reporting them to the UK consumer protection (government body).
I am not at all happy with the customer service I have received from McAfee, and when this subscription expires will be looking at alternative suppliers.

I paid the annual fee of 97.45 in July. In August 28, Some outfit called Mcaffee Techmaster services in Pittsford NY ripped me off for $179.95, and they told my credit card company that I authorized the charge. But not before they raped my computer hard drive when I called to complain. I don't know who these flunkies are, and my credit card company ruled against me. But Guess what? They are not my credit card company any more. And Macaffee is a criminal organization. Do yourself a favor AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM OR THEIR SUBSIDIARIES.

McAfee overcharged me by almost $100 and although I have called 8 times and was told that I would be issued a refund weeks ago, I still have not been issued the refund. Instead, every person I speak to (none of whom speak English) continue to pass the buck and/or promise me that the refund is going to be issued that day. Yet, still I have not received a refund. In addition, since the day I bought McAfee (which I will never do again as I have always used Norton products) I have been receiving calls from people who (don't work for McAfee but say they do) who have all of my McAfee information (type of products, name, telephone number, date of purchase, etc.) and even though I have also reported this with the phone numbers, it is still going on -- over three months. This NEVER happens with Norton. I cancelled my products with McAfee and will never do business with these people again as the employees cannot communicate in English, do not understand English, and are basically clueless.

Hi, I wish to comment on the best service I've ever had... Your technician's name is Anjali. She was patient, nice and very polite. It took a while to find why my protection did not work (real time scanning would not start). She tried different ways, the best option was to re-install product software. Wow, thank you again. Great service :-) Bravo McAfee team.

Great customer service. Love it! My subscription did not show up after I paid, so I called the CS and they guided me through easily even though my computer had problems downloading software. Thanks again for your help. I recommend McAfee.

When I went thru the comments here, one thing I can guarentee you is that majority of the people here who said to have contacted Mcafee tech support has unfortunately reached the wrong place to seek help. I can say, there are almost 1000s of fake support links in the web, which might guide you to the wrong place.We see plentiful of customers complaining they had been charged for Mcafee Tech help. For your people information, the tech support for Mcafee is 100% Free unless it is found to be a system/OS related issue.For that as well, they have a Genuine Tech line which is a premium support,but they don't crash your PC. Rates vary upon the type of service you purchase.

If anyone out there needs help related to Mcafee, you can freely contact us , followed by the OS n type of support(Sales,refund,technical,etc) as you need.

REGARDING POP UPS AND FAKE BROWSERS

To be frank, most people who ends up with Browser Pop ups should try understand, this issue only happens when you click on Some flashy Icons or some other sort of links that you may get from anywhere, even your friends/family. To be frank,I use a PC where I donot even have a Security software installed and I am proud to say, I dont have a single mess like that.So, its your browsing habbit that needs to be changed. Rest apart, Mcafee will take care about.

For Mcafee, if your issue is not fixed at the Tier 1 level, they have the 2nd level, and 3rd Level. Even if you are not happy with that,you even have the option to get in touch with the Executive teams as well. So, Mcafee Support is Open for business all the time and for all sorts of Mcafee issues for Free and if its a OS/PC related problem, there is a Dedicated Q for that as well, which is premium.

I have seen many people saying, Why Iindians. You guys dont understand the fact that, this is a 24/7 support line and here there are 100s of people,who are ready to help you leaving their Family, their Sleep in the night, and much more. Reading the reviews of other customers scared the life out of me whilst calling in to macafee for a refund, i explained i didnt have the laptop anymore and the wonderful lady on the phone simply said she would cancel it and refund me, thumbs up from this transaction!

I have had McAfee for years, never needing to use their service until April this year; the fix took several hours. They explained what they were doing, time after time. They were patient. They were professional. I even got some tips on how to speed up my computer. If I said anything negative, it would NOT be true.
In a nutshell, they were awesome!

I am having a problem with McAfee telling me that my computer is at risk even though my subscription is paid for to July 2012. I have to click on the McAfee icon and then click update to get McAfee to state my computer is safe. This happens every day. I will probably not renew with McAfee when this runs out.

I own AT&T DSL and that pays for McAfee firewall, virus protect, etc.

While watching Naruto comics online, my adobe which was updated on Sept. 30, 2011 crashed while downloading a new Sept. 30, 2011 trojan virus.

The virus prevented McAfee from doing scans, and prevented all windows and McAfee updates.

I called customer support and they took control of my computer. The first thing they did was uninstall McAfee, because they figured McAfee had a defective file. Hrm... Then they tried to reinstall McAfee, but the virus blocked the install or prevented it from installing.

The customer support then proceeded to as if I wanted to accept a $90 additional charge to my bill to remove this virus.

I was like, WOW! Really? I have to pay $90 every time you guys let a virus through to infect my computer??? They have a very poor guarantee service.. They guarantee to charge you $90 every time they fail.

Of coarse, I told them no. I deleted all my temp files, restored my computer to a later point, downloaded a "FREE" virus killer, scanned and found out it was a new Sept. 30, 2011 virus, removed it with the "FREE" virus protector, and now I have stupid remnants of McAfee in my security settings (the uninstall was fail too, still had crap left over that wasn't easily removable without editing registry)

The funny thing is... without the resource hog... my computer actually runs waaaay faster. No lag at all. I just thought my computer was getting old because the entire time I had McAfee it was running terribly slow. Now things run super fast...

I would like to say what a fantastic experience I have had today dealing with McAfee and a computer glitch. I will admit that I am so not computer literate. Initially tried to access the guidance to resolve my issue but for some reason my computer could not access links etc as my computer seemed to have lost this. The first guy I was in contactwith was named Sarath Raj who I must say was very courteous and very helpful and due to me not following his instructions 100% I messed up the final result. Contacted the support desk again and was linked to a fabulous bloke called Abdul Latheef. I couldn't ask for more - he totally took control of everything and thanks to him I am a happy customer and have no worries regarding my security and computer glitches. Unfortunately was unable to thank him personally for all of his help. I so hope that my comments do get back to both of these guys.

Last year, a McAfee salesman tried to sell me a multi-year subscription. It took me 45 minutes on the phone with him to convince him I only wanted one year. I almost hung up, but he finally "gave in" and "LET" me buy one year. Four months ago, the computer got a virus. I took it to a tech who scrubbed the computer and put FREE virus protection on it-NO MORE PROBLEMS! Today, my bank statement showed a $59.99 charge from McAfee. I called the number listed here and they said my money will be refunded in 5 days and gave me a confirmation number. Thank you to whoever supplied this information. It was a big help. Hope to see my money soon!

people has no right to say anything wrong about tech support, we are technician and spend our time on their computer to fix the problem but they think we don't fix the problem.
