BI have had my car insured by MetLife Auto and home for many years....and I have always received my policy premium notice by mail...always..Thank goodness today while I was paying my other bills I realized I had not gotten my premium notice. I called MetLife immediately and was told by Orlando that my policy had been cancelled due to non-payment....I almost hit the ceiling..I let him know that I had not received my premium notice or any other notice that they send when pymt is late. He said that is because they had an e-mail from me saying I wanted to go paperless....I dont allow anyone but myself to take money from my account and all of my bills are paid by check.

So after being transferred to two different people and being asked question after question my insurance was reinstated but only after I paid them $345.00 to do it.

I have been late a few times since I have been with MetLife and I have always received a notice that if payment was not received by such and such a date my coverage would be cancelled....I received nothing this time...it was cancelled and I was not notified. I need to have my car insuredand that is why I gave them the money to reinstate my coverage.

But I will be shopping around for another company...hopefully I willfind another on soon.

MetLife may be good for awhile but that is all.

Take my advise and dont do business with them.

Have been over three months starting an annuity that was purchased in 1987. All ways some technicality even though I have fax the resolution each time but they never seem to receive. Always get the same answer - takes 20 working to reach a resolution but not really my problem if they are understaffed. Diagnosed with cancer but dealing with Metlife is much more stressful.

Metlife did not proper;y process my paperwork and took out over $1,000 to much from my account. Tried to tell me it was my fault, but eventually had to admit that it was their fault. I requested that they put the money back in the account that they took it out of. They said no, that they would mail me a check. They are just trying to delay giving me my money back so that they can keep using it until the check goes through the mail and gets processed. they make a mistake, and then they are taking as long as possible to fix it. Close to stealing if you ask me.

cannot get anyone on the phone. I have claims on my home that I have not made. A 32k hail report in June. It may be rainy in the NW but not that cold. My agent unavailable. Will change carrier asap. Plus as my home falls in value my premiums go up. What a scam!!

it's hard to get intouch with who ever has your case. I leave message after message and can't get a call back. Ask form the forms metlife wants but never get them, i'm told they were sent but never saw 1. I must have asked for more than 12 never got 1. Took weeks to get paid. always some reason. case worker on vacation or reviewing paperwork or doctor didn't fi;; it out the right way, always an excuse. Did everything they could to make me broke and force me back to work. I asked to go back and the company said no. metlife closed my case and my company fired me cause metlife closed my case. Now I have major heart issues may need another operation and have no job, no insurance, and no income. Hey metlife how about a job I can screw people over, I've just never tried before. give me a shot.

It Has Been A Long Wait On The Telephone 30 -45 Minutes For Assistance My Needs For Adjusting And Correction Were Not Met. It Was Not Great Customer Servuce. The Long Wait Was Excruciating 30- 45 Mins Listening To A Machine And No Acknowledgement.

I was just informed by my mother that a life insurance policy she held with you was no longer going to be available and that she and everyone else who held this particilar policy had to cancel it and go with a new policy. After making all of these elderly people do this, with out any knowledge to them or any warning, you people charged everyone of them a $1400.00 fee to do this. To make matters even worse her agent that she had dealt with for years was fired because one of his relatives that was faced with this fee was paid by him because he felt bad for him and also was unable to afford the fee. Reason being Met Life policy apparently does not allow their employess to help out anyone from the royal screwing that you people do to your customers. I have for years avoided taking insurance out with your company even when working for a company that offered your insurance. I also think that not being abale to reach any of your customer service directly is also pathetic. You people are nothing more than a bunch of lying, cheating, pathetic thieves that do not care about anything except for how much money you can make off of the public at any cost. What is really sad is that I was also going to file a complaint to the better buisness bureau and of course as expected there is no single listing for your pathetic company. Rest assured I will find a way to expose your company for what you really are. And belive me what my mother told verses what I have said here is only the tip of the iceburg.

I also think that it is pretty pathetic that you feel you can only publish what you want and not the what anyone posts to this website to expose the real truth behind your company. I dare you to respond to this if your company has any integrity which I already know has NONE!!!!!!

You people SUCK. I've paid my disability insurance religiously for years. Now that I have a claim ( that I filed Feb 2012 18 months ago) I've had forensic accountants go through my business & personal finances. I've had a Independent Medical Exam IME I've had 2 Dr's. state that I'm disabled. They paid me for a few weeks after I was in the hospital for pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in lungs) & DVT. I just keep getting put off by my claim examiner. You must pay his bonus by how long the claim gets denied. If anyone has disability insurance with Met dump it and get another. This will probably get deleted but I don't care. They have created a monster.

This is the worst company to deal with on a claim. They don't care about the damages done to the victim of the accident there idea is to look for the best ways to save the company money and keep the victim waiting as long as theycacan just to make them suffer.

I had a car accident on a Tuesday called and submitted the information for my claim. Explained the accident a million times and she still didn't "get" it. Wednesday, I called the mystery adjuster and got his voicemail. Left a message. No return call. Wednesday rolls on by and I hear from the other guys insurance company, but still not my own. Got an estimate for the damages. I called the first person I spoke with and she said I should have rec'd a call the night after. That would be Wednesday. He left at 4. No call. It's Thursday, I left ANOTHER message. This is beyond ridiculous. I have not been a customer long and if they keep this up, I won't be a customer at all.

MetLife Auto and Home has dropped 'speak to a live person' customer service. Only automated menu options are valid.

MetLife Auto and Home currently has discontinued customer access to online policy information.

The MetLife Auto and Home headquarters in Warwick RI is set to close in 2015.

I added a car on my policy and the premium increased as expected. I paid the higher premium for about 2 months then decided to take the defensive driving course for an additional 10% off. I took the test, and then called them to give them the confirmation. To my dismay my premium increased by roughly 10%. I called to say it seems as if rather than reducing my premium, it increased. The person kept telling me the premium increased because I added a car. I said Nooo, my premium was already increased for the extra car. Then she began to tell me how complicated it is to understand and explain, and she started to explain and it made no sense whatsoever. I called a second time several weeks later with the same complaint. Again, I got a completely different explanation than what was given to me before. In both cases, I was made to look like the idiot. Anyway, I decided to do nothing about it for the time being. Several months later I called for an unrelated topic, where I spoke to a very nice and helpful lady. In the end when she asked if there is anything else she can do for me, I explained this issue again. She told me she'd look into it and get back to me. She left me a voice message that they have figured it out. The next month, my insurance cost was about $9 (from over $100), after they refunded me all the extra charges they've been taking from my account.Doesn't seem like their employees are knowledgeable. Either that, or they are struggling like every big corporation at training and reorganizations and fragmentation. Soooo frustrating for just an average user who just wants some insurance.

I cannot stand dealing with this company!! I am on LTD and even though I have a progressive disease, I am hounded every few months to fill out tons of paperwork... activities of daily living, etc. This last one was to see if I could return to any type of work. Really? When I stopped working in 2011, I had already been struggling tremendously to even get there for 3 years!! I had already had testing done to see if there was any work I could do right after I stopped working, and it was enough for Social Security to award me my SSDI. Not only do I have to fill out paperwork, but my doctors have to send them records, and for some reason they don't know how to deal with the medical records departments, because they are always calling me complaining that the doctors' offices aren't sending them what they need, and asking me to call them.

The Met Life auto policy for multiple vehicles I own was over $800 more than the previous carrier my agent had used with no negative mark to justify any cost increase at all. Unfortunately I did not know until about four months into the policy. I was billed over $450 for the short rate early termination of the policy. No problem since I will save the $1000 with my new insurance co., however I think it is incredible that Met life would be so far off in costs especially since my record is great and Met would most definitely have made very good money off of me had they been more competitive. It's like they think people are stupid. No wonder they are falling apart. Even my agent told me not to pay the charge from Met and I won't. Now they are trying to collect. Good Luck with that Met! All your demands will only serve as a reminder that I need to never - ever use you again any where - any type of policy.

Was unable to log on to e service , took 3 months and many phone calls and being put on hold for hours, never could get to log on and finally found out Met Life didn't even have my Policy. They had sold it to some company in Texas ( Texas Life) ???? still waiting for info from them by snail mail.

I have never had more trouble reaching a human being by phone than at MetLife. It's very time consuming and frustrating trying to get through their recordings, if you can get through.

Metlife Didn't Notify Me About You Have To Keep 250.00 Dollars In Control Account Before Close The Account Out. They Messed Up My Checking Account To Another Bank. They Didn't Say They Was Sorry Or Try To Straight It Out.

I recently had an extensive Gingival graft via laser done to repair substantial recession in my gums. The office I received the surgery at, called MetLife, received a quote from them covering almost the entire cost of the procedure.

About a month later, my doctor calls me telling me they denied my claim saying my surgery was unnecessary unless I had a medical condition or the recession was at a certain point (which it was). Now, not only has my doctor put in an appeal, I am putting in to appeal seeing as I have all the paper work. Even better, the damn company is trying to charge me more then I was even quoted! It is outrageous to me that they could think a human should have the type of surgery I had done without sedation let alone not even paying a penny for the entire thing.

I was still on my parents dental, thus being MetLife and should have waited a month until I received my own, substantially better dental insurance. And to think I had an interview with this company for a job. Thank goodness I turned that down.

I have a short and a long term disability policy with METLIFE through the company I amleased to,in which I pay the whole premium out of my settlement checks. They wrote a clause in the short term if injuried on job they do not pay. The long term does not have that clause, but been delaying my case since the disability occurred for different reasons. The first drs.discharged me before receiving all the test results back, So I had to get my own orthopeadic doctor, who stated that I should not have been discharged,now they are denying my claim. I had a concussion from a fall where I landed on my head injuring my neck shoulders lower back and knees. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH METLIFE AT ALL, BEEN WITH 6 YEARS.

I have a metlife policy...My Policy No. Is and i took in 20/06/2007 - yearly premium of 12000/- Rs. All the agent told me is you need to pay for minimum period of 3 years . So i deligently did that ...Paid 36000/- Rs. and then you may withdraw anytime the money after 3 Year. Now i just called after 5 Year and 7 Month to request Customer Care Phone for policy surrender and they say i will get a return of only 27000/- Rs. What did they do with the remaining 9000/-Rs of principal - forget the interest . I asked them to atleast tell me which foolish shares they invested so that i know what they did with my money. Online site does not provide any info. I wish i was not so foolish and simply gone and placed that money in a nationlised bank - atleast i would have got 50,000 Rs. minimum. Very clearly this is not a policy for people who are not inetrested in high risk markets. I contacted the ppl who i know had taken policies in Metlife....sad to find out that everybody is in the same boat as me.. No other go...instead of bleeding further - i am withdrawing the money and getting done with this looters game. Thanks..

I work in a dental office and I have a hard time getting a pymt out of metlife for any service. When there are crown and bridge involved you can almost bet that it will be at least 6-8 mo before any pymt is issued.. Each time I call on the claim, Im told they did not recieve an x-ray or a narrative explaining why this is needed. Now I know better than to not include all these. I finally asked if they employed an actual dentist to review these cases. I was told they are dental personel. HAHA so I said but you do not have a dentist that actually looks at each case right. Metlife rep didnt know how to answer that. So my suggestion to all of you is to write to your insurance commissioner complaining about Metlife. They will be investigated..

BEWARE: Before taking out a long term care class policy read the fine print!! MetLife reserves the right to increase premiums at any time at any rate. Once you have paid years and years worth of premiums, you have no choice but to pay up or cancel the policy and lose all investments.

My Home is presently insurance by Metlife Property and Casualty Company. I presently have claim in for some damage that was done to my property by a broken sprinkler system that flooded my basement(Three Feet Of Water),as a result all of the property that occupied by basemnet had been damage. I had my Metlife claim adjuster(Bradley Carter) to assist me in helping to secure my home ,and property by hiring a company to stop my basement from becoming eroded with fungus, and dry up all the water that settle beneath my floor. Well this procees started in May of 2012, and as of December 18,2012. I am still waiting to have this matter taken care of. I have escalate this problem to Supervisor Michael Davidson of Metlife and he is ten worse then Bradley Carter. To the point where I feel that I have "NO" other chose then to go outside of both their position, and seek help from a Vice -President of President of Metlife. Please make should that this message get some attention from someone who really care ,about the policy Holder. I think that Metlife is the worst Insurance company that I have experience in the last Forty-one years that I have been doing business with Insurance Companies. Both your Supervisor and your claim adjuster seem more concern about how much they have to pay me to recover my lost property, then finding a way to make me whole again. I think that is a negative that should change quickly, because I feel Metlife will lose some good customers in the near future. I will not me one of the people promoting MetLife products in the near future, and I hope that Metlife found a way to satisfy their customers, so that something like this NEVER happen to another customer.
