Your customer service department via the telephone is the rudest, most inexperienced people. I've called twice to try and resolve a return issue. First person I could not understand and the second person put me on hole for 20-minutes (timed) and when no one came back on the line I hung up...and no one even tried to call me back to rectify the problem. This is terrible for a company with a reputation and product like Magellan.

It happened again!!! The last replacement unit you sent me is having issues. How inconvenient this failure was. It shut down while in transit to Lake Tahoe with the family. Now, it acts like it’s turning on and then shuts down. I actually got it to work for a while before it encountered the same problem again. I can only imagine the person who had this before me had the issue that Magellan could not figure out and I ended up with it. I AM NOT PLAYIING THIS RETURN GAME ANYMORE. I have explained my case each time and pleaded with you to send me a new unit and you neglected my concerns. I’ve lost count on how many of these refurbished units I’ve sent back…4???? YOU HAVE WASTED MY TIME DISRUPTED MY LIFE WITH YOUR DEFECTIVE ‘REFURBISHED’ GPS UNITS!!!! I DEMAND A FULL REFUND FOR THE UNIT PRICE!!!! I told you before that I did not want a used unit and you indicated your policy would not allow it. You obviously do not care about customer satisfaction. I AM DONE WITH MAGELLAN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND YOUR GPS UNITS TO ANYONE! This will be the last GPS unit I send back! Your refurbished units SUCK and your whole damn return policy sucks!!! I have never had such an awful customer experience or business transaction as pathetic as this one with Magellan. DON’T OFFER ME ANOTHER GPS UNIT BECAUSE THEY DON’T LAST AND THEY ARE JUNK!!!! REFUND MY MONEY OR I WILL GO STRAIGHT TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Send me a return label so I can return your defective unit and be done with it.

my son is trying to get detox from Heroin and since this is the second time they are not approving it, this insurance is horrible and they don't think of patient. I don't know what they are thinking? they keep saying if his situation is getting worst call us. What is worst? when I find him dead?

I purchased a unit for $150, and it malfunctioned after the 30 day period. They sent me a refurbished unit, but it was scratched terribly on the screen and the body. This is what 150 buys me? I'll stick to my garmins. Outrageous.

To whom it concerns.

I have had your product Magellan 2036-MU for two years, and have had major problems with software updates freezing my Unit.It has been unbelievable and would never recommend this Product to anyone. I could not get a hold of anyone in costumer service department I just kept getting cut off or switched over to another service, or number. It is crazy. The last two years are a mind blower with this company.

Magellan GPS support does not exist. Do not buy a Magellan GPS. If you cannot update your GPS software, they will not assist. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

I bought a Magellan Roadmate 2230T-LM. I left one side of the small city I live in and programmed it to take me home. About a 1/10 of a mile into the trip I looked down and I was driving (by the GPS's estimate) about 30 feet away from the actual road I was on. It kept nagging me to "Proceed to Main street" all the while I was on Main Street. It told me I was on the wrong street later in that short trip. If I hadn't have known my way around, I would have been lost. Then on a longer trip, it went off the road again, then told me, proceed 109 miles to 460W (I was traveling 460E) AND MAKE A U-TURN! I took it back to Best Buys and got a Garmin. Magellan's website was terrible also.

I own a Magellan eXplorist XL GPS, The software that came with the unit( map send Manager) is asking for a unlock code. Called Magellan and they told me sorry we no longer can help you with your code even though you are the valid owner of our product. If you think you will have support for your products from them in th efuture ( lifetime update??) think again. I won't ever purchase another product made by this company or any company that is a perent of this company. Remember bad service comes from the TOP DOWN not the bottom up.

Magellan roadmate is no good. Battery won't keep a charge.. Difficult to turn on.. Several glitches.. Where the hell is a working cust service number? Rip off inc. they should quietly close the doors to this place.. Bad business.

I will NEVER EVER buy a magellan again!! They promised me lifetime map updates and here it is exactly 1 year later and they want me to pay for lifetime maps. They told me that it wasn't offered with the unit I got... bull crap!!! Thats why I bought that particular model! When I finally reached somebody on it they told me "if you have the original packaging there is a code on it that could verify it! REALLY!!! Who in the heck hoards packaging. Never again... it will be Garmin next time!

after i enter a new address, my roadmate 1440 showed "Your device needs to be restarted to increase performance." So after searching online, the solution suggested was to install Connection Manager and update firmware on my gps. After i updated firmware to the newest one, then my device pop up a message, "Upgrade has been done Please remove the SD card and Reboot the device".

There is no SD card in my device that i bought. It didn't come with a SD card! I tried shut down and reboot so many time and it didn't work. I called in to customer service about this issue and the answer i got was that my device is not working so they asked me to pay $90 for a replacement of Roadmate 1440 to Roadmate 2045t-lm which i can buy from amazon for $80?!!! This is ridiculous! So Magellan developed a product that has a firmware that only last 3+ yrs before it will promp for a update then it would crashed my device just to charge me more for a new product.. this is a very clever business strategy...

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I was given a NEW Magellan 5145 for Mother's Day, and recently got a notification that an update was available. After updating, the unit no longer works. it locks up, and after about 5 minutes, restarts itself. No POI or address search is available at all. I contacted Magellan, and their response? We can send you a REFURBISHED unit to replace the one you have. Of course, I have to send them mine first, and the replacement process takes about 2 weeks! I don't want a USED unit, but they can't fix the update, so all they can do is send me a USED ONE! DO NOT BUY FROM MAGELLAN!!!!!

I bought the Magellan Roadmate 3120 approx three months ago. I paid $80 for a map upgrade last week, which is what I paid for the unit. Every time I try to download the upgrade, it says my unit needs a software upgrade. When I connect the unit to my computer and check their content manager for updates, it does not show my unit needs a software update. I still have not been able to download the map upgrade and I am out the price of the unit plus the $80 I paid for the map upgrade. Their customer service is horrible.

I have been trying for two days to get my new GPS registered. I thought I had it last night and today I am trying to find out if it isregistered. Have no idea how to find it out. I have called the customer service number and all I get is a repeat of the menu. The instructions say to press 2 at first prompt b ut it just keep prompting. Not a good business practice.

Customer service is the poorest I have ever encountered and that is saying alot. I bought a Magellen Roadmate 9055 that is defective. A replacement was promised but never arrived. Follow ups failed to resolve the problem. Their people are about as clueless as possible.

I just purchased a Magellan GPS. I went to see if there were any updated maps for them and found their website so confusing it was unreal. The directions said to go to their website and download the Content Manager Software. I went to the website and found 8 different programs with that label. When I attempted to get some assistance, it took me to a help website that charged $30 an hour. I attempted to find a way to contact them but apparently they don't want any customer feedback. They Suck.

I have a Magellan RoadMate Pro 9165T and find it far more difficult to use than my previous product. The most critical issue is that it will NOT maintain a constant volume no matter how many options I select or change. Once set it slowly gets quieter the longer you drive leaving you to either put on earphones (illegal) that are connected to the unit or constantly watch it (not safe) to see any notices. I spoke to a rep at the recent Good Sam Rally in Louisville and she said to call the tech services folks. Trying to get thru to them is impossible. I would return this unit in a heartbeat if I could get even half my money back.

I purchased the RoadMate Applcition for the US from the iTunes store. The original version of the applciation worked on my iPod Touch second generation, as well as a few of the later updates. they recently released a version (2.0) that is no longer comaptible with my iPod Touch, and it removed the old version of the app, adnd couldn't install the new version. They refused to help me recover the previous version of the file, that worked with my iPod Tocuh, and I kept getting bounced back and forth bbetween Apple and Magellan GPS. Issue was never resolved. I'm out 150.00 for the purchase of the hardware and software of iTunes. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

Whatever you do... DO NOT BUY A MAGELLAN and if It works.. count it a miracle. If you have issues Plan on spending a couple weeks dealing with the company. They are the most incompetent people we have ever dealt with. I wish we would have had this information prior to our purchase.

I have a Magellan Roadmate 4510. I hate it to death. When I tell it to take mostly freeways , it always tells me to get off the expressway an exit too early. It's caused me to drive miles of surface streets through hellish traffic because they somehow can't properly program their gps. They suck, their support is like dealing with a cartoon version of customer support, with cartoon characters that hate You for calling. This is my last Magellan product period. Neither Best Buy nor Magellan would take this piece of junk back.

I odered a gps and paid with it using my credit card. THey shipped the package without my phone number so i did not know purotler had it.purultor tried to phone magellan to gey my phone number. because i did not pick it up and magellan would not return prolators phones calls they sent it back. ihave sent e-mails but get no reply. they have my money but i have nothing to show for it. i will never buy a magellan product again.

I recently purchased lifetime map updates for my Roadmate 1440 (which was the most accurate GPS I have ever owned). Since I updated my maps and GPS it no longer has the newer roads it previousely had, it routs me in totally wrong directions (unless you want to go the long way!). I have contacted Magellan and all they do is tell me there is no fix and no refund... plus they want me to help them correct their map software by giving them detailed directions... Shouldn't they pay me for that service???
