Bought Meijer brand of the 1/2 loaf ( knock off of Lewis brand) not good. This is the second time I've tried it. That won't happen again it's stale and not good at all

Posted by Disappointed

The last two times I visited the Meijers on Dixie Highway, there have been problems. In the past I was always pleased. I went through the self check-out and twice a product came up not on sale. I asked about the price. She looked it up and said that is the correct price. Both times I complained that there was a sign saying it was on sale. Both times the lady from the Service Desk said they were not on sale. I said then I do not want it. The cashier could not take it off she said. In fact the price rang up more than it the regular price marked. She did not know how to cancel it. So... I had to pay more than the original price. I was not happy. I will not shop at Meijers for a while and I will not deal with that rude woman again. She said, "Hey Lady!" Whatever happened to manners and respect?

Delivered? Well left on porch-in rain NO KNOCK ON DOOR. Too many mistakes NO fried chicken but Rotisserie Chicken? I had substitutes listed, on almost everything. Almost Nothing right

Some of their products is good, but their package is crap. One of their food product I just purchased is supposed to have a seal to keep the fresh. I ended up put it in a Ziploc bag.

For months I have begged and pleaded with the Mt Pleasant, mi store to stock Yoplait Oui yogurt, vanilla flavor. Even though I go in there a couple times a week there isn't any Vanilla Oui. Today I was lucky and got 3. I would like 7 or 8 a week, instead of 3 a month and that's if I am lucky. Why is this a problem? And why have a sale on it when there is very little of it available

I have switched to shopping at Meijers at 92nd and Western in Evergreen Park, IL because of your great prices, however, the last two times I was there there was blue mold on the bread. The loaf of bread I did buy was partially frozen and had bugs in it. I am no longer shopping there. Think you should know about this health problem.

Yesterday , September 28, 2023, I went to pick up a medicine at the pharmacy at Meijer on Utica Rd and 15 Mile Rd. And evidently they have some problems with the cashier machines, because the lines were becoming very long. When it was my time, I proceded as usually : gave my name/date of bird/ type my mperks numbers and slide the card to pay, at that moment it looks like the machine froze, so the cashier started blaming me aloud that I froze it, I didn't do anything out of ordinary, so I was very confuse with that reaction, she keeps reciting it to anybody to hear. Then the pharmacist? Came , he started getting angry, and spoke to me very loudly. I felt very un respected, they were taking their frustration about a non working system on me, but speaking loudly and blaming me in front of a lot of people for something I didn't do was not right . or maybe because I am old and speak with an accent they thought that was an easy pray to attack/blame?

Very disappointed in a bakery item. There used to be a carmel apple pie that was a 10+. Now this year, they changed to apple pie with a carmel drizzle. Even the crust is poor. I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars. Hope they bring back the original. It was a Thanksgiving favorite.

Today the mperks wasn't working. Fortunately I caught it and had the items removed from my bill. Later I called customer service to find out when service would be restored. It seems that no one was aware of the problem except for the person running the self checkout lane. In speaking with the mperks department, I learned that there are frequent problems in the self checkout. I'm wondering how many times I was cheated out of my mperks coupon without noticing.

Please check self checkout on August 20 th at 12:30 ish. It was the WEST end checkout video. I was at #5 and next to me on 4 there was a couple with a small child and TWO CARTS OF PRODUCTS.
I NEVER saw them scan bottom of cart. I mentioned it to two young clerks standing there. They looked at each other AND DID NOTHING !?
Would have been easy to say, "Hello, we have had some trouble with your chip's box scanning so May I see your receipt ?" Easy to check and to catch thievery if so!!!!!!
Im tired of seeing people get away with actions that cause us to pay more! Please check video!

Since 1975 I have spent thousands of dollars at Meijer. I asked the pharmacy if they have Norco available so I could have my prescription transferred over there and she refused to answer. The Southgate store has a bunch of jerks. Asking about availability of a narcotic isn't illegal. I'm 77 years old and have to take pain medication. How am I suppose to tell my doctor to call there to fill it if they don't let me know if they have it??? Whoever is working there at 2:00 pm Tuesday 8/1/23 is stupid and rude

Sooo tired of buy 2,3,4,8,etc. to get the discount. Why not a sale on 1 item. And....if I buy multiple quantities (on sale), I no longer have to purchase for a long time.
Meijer is no longer a bargain. I can find cheaper at Kroger, Dollar Tree and even CVS.
Meijer has drastically changed in the past 3 years. For the worst!!! And I have to check myself out. You would think prices should be cheaper since they saved money on Employees.

Where do I start with this company

Did the online pick up. Went to Meijer on June 19th purchased groceries online $118.00. June 20th had a charge from Meijer for $116.93. Never went to the store on the 20th. Meijer was contacted by my wife on June 21st. Never contacted us back. I contacted them on June 27th. Over 1 hour on the phone with them and they still refuse to return our money. Seven Hills Police Department has a report on this. Meijer manager knows about this from the police officer. Had to contact our Discover Card and report fraud charge. Not one time did Meijer reach out to us and try to make this right. I was hung up on twice by two Meijer employees with customer service with corporate. Never will we shop there again !! Giant Eagle and Acme are very close. First time in my life have I been treated this way by a business. If I could leave a zero rating I would.
I thought I would give and update. Today was the day Discover told me to call back. Meijer never addressed the issue with Discover. Meijer would not let me talk to anyone about what's going on with my dispute! Meijer does not care about customers and when it's their mistake or an employee fraud. Multiple times I was promised from Meijer I would receive an update. Now, Discover says this dispute can take up to 60 days. At this point, Meijer has stolen $116.93 from our family. Not once have they tried to make this right. 3 hours invested in trying to get this resolved! #donotshopmeije

Normally, service is great at our Meyer here in Holland. But today I requested corn on the cob from someone's stocking the vegetables. She, without saying a word, walked away, and I waited to see if she'd return with corn. She did, but still not looking at me, walked over to a Shelf And started taking off the packaged shucked corn. I started to reach for a few ears of the corn in the box she brought out, and she told me it'll be a while I was done shopping except for corn so I waited. She ended up taking everything off that area, brought it over to a new area and re-shelved it, and then came back with the corn to put it on the shelf. She still didn't let me reach for it until I just did , I think there and walked away the process took about 10 minutes. At least it felt rude.

Shopped at the Brown Road store yesterday, requested paper bag packing. Get a look of disgust on the cashier's face, groceries being thrown on the belt and groceries thrown into the bags. Totally unacceptable!?

I was at Meijer Store #290 today(May 20,2023) at 10:53 to purchase 3 lotto tickets. I also turned over 2 separate tickets with winnings equaling $14($8+$6) Erica was the cashier. I gave her my selections for the new tickets(which are stored on the phone lotto app) totaling $42. She said that'll be $28. I "assumed" dummy me, that she had deducted the $14 in winnings. I gave her a $50 bill and $3 and she gave me $25 back. I didn't realize until after I got home(because I was also grabbing prescriptions) that the $14 was never given to me. Please review your cameras. I didn't call and go back because I didn't want a 'showdown'. Though I should've been paying more attention, so should your cashier if it was an error.
I hope this will be rectified. I will no longer purchase tickets here again(and have every week for years).

Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.

VERY disappointed with experience today at Stow, OH location. Bakery associate on break for over an hour- no one able to just put cake in a box- Customer service associate at front of store stated, "unfortunately when there's only one person working, you just have to wait- this is UNACCEPTABLE - I am a long time customer and very unhappy with this total lack of respect and customer service!

My local Meijer (49735) has some of the worst management! Talks bad about third shift on the floor in front of customers! Disgusting especially when it's the store director talking badly about the other managers! Never greets customers just walks around with her click like it's a scene from mean girls, we are a small community and know the people you are talking bad about!! Shame on the store director

I Wanted An Even Exchange Of A Defective Spray Can, Instead Of Coming Out As A Mist Like It Was Supposed To It Came Out Leaking. I Paid Cash Since This Was The Only Item I Bought That Day And I Didnt Save The Reciept, Why Would I For This One Lousy Item.
Anyway... Return Desk Told Me That If There Was A Price Difference In The Last 30days I Would Have To Pay For That Difference. This Makes No Sense, Sale Or No Sale Its An Even Exchange !!!! So What If Price Went Down Or Up. Its The Very Exact Item Im Exchanging. I Want To Make A Complaint About This

In my opinion, Meijer is a cheap, regional ripoff of Walmart.
Terrible customer service and rude employees. Dirty, poorly organized stores. Items on the shelves that had obviously been returned.

Don't shop at meijer to much favoritism, judgemebtal, worse place ever for customer service, they yell at custumers

I am completely appalled at Meijer's customer service. I received a delivery order and the shopper was permitted to make the most asinine substitutions. An example is an order Valentine candy replaced with melts to make candy with. Cheese and crackers replaced with french onion dip. I realize brand substitutes is a thing though I had no idea the shopper had so much control over my money.
I called and was told by the representative that my entire order would be refunded within a few business days and then I received this email a week later.
"I apologize for your recent experience regarding your order. Providing a positive customer experience is a priority at Meijer and I would like to thank you for taking the time to communicate your concern. If we plan to succeed in the future, we depend on our customers to provide us with honest feedback.

We have denied your refund request. When you have any brand substitutions, the shopper can substitute anything they feel is close. I reviewed the substitutions and they are acceptable under any brand heading. In the future, if you change that to no substitutions, you won't run into this issue. I am sorry to hear they ran late for you, I have added points to your mPerks in the amount of 10,000 points.

I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to serve you again in the future. We appreciate your business."

I have used Meijer online frequently in the past. I realize that Meijer doesn't care about the loss of one customer though they have certainly lost my business.

Meijer is my "go to" store of choice. For the past 20 years I have made thousands of dollars at the Madison Heights Mi location, the Kokomo IN location and the Monroe Mi locations. I always input my MPerks number, because if I lose a receipt and want to return something, they can find anything using the MPerks number. They can also find stuff using my Meijer Credit Card account, which also awards points. I read through some of the complaints and on some levels I feel the customers were being too harsh on Meijer, for example, the 77 year old woman who wanted to know her Meijer had a narcotic on premises. Pharmacists don't reveal what controlled substances they have on premises, it encourages break-ins. I don't think in 20 years I ever had a rude employee. I've had some stupid employees not know how to do basic math, and made errors in my favor. Usually I do my own checkout so I can verify something is ringing at the sale price. If it doesn't ring at the sale price, I just pile it up on the candy boxes and let the employees put it away. It's pretty much impossible to get an employee to be smart enough to look for stickers like "50% off" on expiring bakery items, so it's better to be your own check out person. But I never had a mean employee. And customer service has always been totally satisfactory for me, far better than the old Kmarts I used to go to. I abandoned Kmart over 20 years ago due to bad customer service and witch employees. But I honestly never ran across a mean or rude employee at Meijer. Low IQ or lazy, yes, but never rude.

I wish to praise Kelly G in cascade deli today about 2-3 pm. She was friendly, sweet , helpful, obviously likes serving people. she was nice to me and everybody I heard her taking care of in deli. So rare to see truly happy employees who are so nice, smile, andkind. I know Meijer pays low,she represents Meijer in a great way, she should get a big raise in pay.

Good morning, Meijer Representative. My review is for Meijer Pharmacy in Flossmoor, IL. I am so relieved and thankful for such great customer service at a time when mind was not functioning as it should. Due to the shortage of certain medications, my regular pharmacy was not able to fill my prescription since March 15, 2023. In addition, I was not happy with my former pharmacy customer service. Hence, I called several pharmacies asking if they could fill my prescription. I was so relieved when Meijer came through for me in just a few hours on 03/29/2023 around 7:53 pm. The pharmacy team was very patient and understanding. By this point, I was having major issues concentrating. The team member patiently helped me through the transaction. Meijer ... you are now my preferred Pharmacy and Grocery Store. Thank you! (Please share with the Pharmacy Team in Flossmoor, IL.) Cindy T

your employee at Meier store #103. Her name is Laura and she is a knowledgeable and I'm sure a valuable employee. I had an overcharge that I noticed on my charge card statement today. I spoke with her and related my problem. She tracked down the transaction, found the solution and called me back within an hour or so. Problem solved! Very impressive. Please let her know I am very grateful.

I hope this gets read by the right people, I was being scammed, and the scammers want gift cards, I was so upset with what was going on, A
Employee Dee Martin over heard me talking on the phone about the gift cards, along with employee Lori Harring, miss Dee asked what was going on with all the gift cards, I told her, she said it sounds like a scam, for me to hang up, I did hang up, without me knowing I was being scammed, miss Dee And Miss Harring, told me to call my banks and credit card companies, I was scammed 200.00, but they stepping in I didn't send the 800.00 more they wanted,I hope your company acknowledges these two employee going out of there way to help me,

The staff at our local Meijer store are very friendly and helpful. However, it's the layout of the check-out area that is cause for concern. When the store remodeled to add more self-service units (small cubicle size), they removed all of the standard-size self-service lanes that could accommodate two customers at a time and DOZENS of items! The mini self-service units make it difficult to handle orders larger than a dozen or so items and it's so tight in the area that it's difficult when regular size shopping carts are in the area. Furthermore, there is no easy way to 'social distance' in that small, congested area. People with both very large and very small orders flock to the regular cashier-staffed check lanes, creating long lines--so long in fact, that sometimes frozen foods have begun to thaw in the basket because of the long wait in line. Meijer should never had gotten rid of their 2-customer long standard-size self-service check lanes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the very kind and helpful Kathy W in the deli. Give her a raise. I would also like to give Charles W a raise he is welcoming and helpful and made us feel welcome. Thank them both.

My husband and I are frequent Meijer shoppers at store #272 in Bowling Green, KY shopping 5-6 days a week. We usually use self-check but Tuesday August 31st we were greeted by checkout person, Estella, who was so cheerful and bubbly, we chose her lane for her to check us out! She made our day with her cheerfulness and positive attitude.....Estella is a true asset to Meijer store #272.

In MI facemasks are required to be worn by all customers in grocery stores by 4/27. Apparently NOT in Grandville store. Why not? As always your produce depart was excellent. Thx

The negative comments breaks my heart as a retired Meijer employee of over 22 years. I started out in 1973 and it was joy to come to work. The employees were always expected to do more than their best for every customer/guest. In fact as a trainer , I always told the new employees training for customer service desk, that they should always make sure they did their best to send a guest away smiling. As the years passed, and many changes were made unfortunately I saw employees lose their zeal to be their best because of the problems happening to them from Meijer changes to employees. Pay wise, work schedules and sometimes silly rules we had to follow, such as trying to sell the customer lottery tickets ect.. one small example. And we would sometimes get customers who were upset at our asking...Anyway, to see all these reviews that tell me customer service is at an all time low really hurts. Unless Meijer gets back to the fundamental belief that FRED had, that we are FAMILY, nothing will change. Until the UNION tries to work with the employees that THEY work for and make their lives better along with making Meijer a better EMPLOYER, nothing will change and people will walk away feeling "I will not come back"...PLEASE stop and think about where Meijer has come from and where it is now as far as employees and Guests are concerned. MAKING MONEY for the company is the issue I understand that. But, is it really worth loosing what once was what Meijer stood for in the beginning? People were proud to come and purchase from and it's employees were proud to work for you. I hear and see that declining every year for many years. It doesn't make me feel good saying all this, I am only hoping someone in MEIJER upper echelon will read this and DO something.

I loved store #52. East Lansing, MI. I worked as a cashier there for 28+ years. I was a great cashier. I had a regular customer following. That ended just over a year ago. They fired me for leaving the store to approach a customer for potential theft. Funny thing is.... I didn't leave the store. I didn't approach anyone for theft. I asked a lady which lane she had been on...on my fast lanes. That's it! Funny thing was... Not two weeks before I have gotten a personal compliment letter from the Meijer boys commending me in great customer service. Hmmmm. I was suspended 5 days after the incident and ultimately fired. Why? Probably because I was a senior employee making top dollar. This was my first write up in probably 20 years.

How do they expect somebody to support a family on that Sam walton would not allow that. oops that is the other store that pays there employes better than minunim wage. you Meijers.

I have been at Meijer in Rochester since 9/2011 (and worked there before from 11/88 to 6/96) . On 2/11/13, I saw a contracted floor maintenance company worker take something off a shelf (with me being the only one in the aisle with him and me having previous encounters with him) and walk into the back room with it so I reported it to a "new" night store manager. Well he didn't take proper procedure and report it to security instead he confronted the guy with me standing right there...(he yelled at him loudly "DID YOU JUST TAKE SOMETHING?"). Later that evening I passed the floor maintenance crew and the guy accused said something loudly in spanish and when I turned to look he was pointing at me to the other 2 people of the crew. Needless to say I will NOT go back to work there. I called my store director ( Mr LaRock) and told him the story and he said I had to take care of this through the new manager..I have tried and he has been rude and the last time I talked to him he said I would have to resign or something to free up his schedule of my hours OR wanted me to go to a store that was 20 miles from my home.

I have tried for a transfer to the Washington store which is right behind my home..when I went in to see the store director there (Dave Marsico) said he had no openings..then I saw they had a Job Fair on 3/5/13..so I called him this morning (3/7/13) to ask why I wasn't considered for any of the openings and he went off on me...telling me he didn't appreciate my inquisition and used my lack of availability for an excuse (In January of 2012 my hours were cut from 32-40 hours a week to 15 hours so I went and found a side job to make up the difference that is pretty flexible with hours except for Saturdays because I am self supporting) I have offered Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays..now I can't quit my other job because how am I to pay my bills when they decide to take my hours away again...I was PROMISED when I first started working there that I would get no less than 32 hours....yes this is the way your managers and store directors have been treating this employee..

I go in and I work hard .You can ask my managers Willie Baker or Robert Bennet at store 57...and I have tried to restore the camaraderie in that store where there are so many disgruntled employees back to the way it use to be where everyone worked together as a team..I always had a good attitude...and tried to restore team spirit..so where's the respect for my loyalty to this company? I'm still not back to work...and now that they are all upset with me how am I going to be able to work at any of them after this?? They're rudeness over this whole matter is overwhelming..I feel I am being punished for doing the right thing...what happened to securing my safety??

I NEEDED that job...there's not a big market out there for 63 year old women...no matter how hard they work....any suggestions???

I have a family member that has turned in notice for a weeks vacation a month in advance. He was told that he would not get it because he was needed and that others have asked for time off as well but they were not going to get the time off as well. What is it that you don't have enough people to take care of peopel that work hard for their job and get treated in this fashon. I like Meijer Stores Can someone check this out. Lexington KY

Just thought that the your customers might like to know that I work for one of Meijer's major suppliers. The product that we send into their distribution centers is of extremely high quality, hauled by some of the nations best carriers. Yet, despite this fact, our products are sometimes rejected or delayed at the distribution centers based on whether or not the overworked, underpaid "checkers" are in a good mood that day. Drivers hauling these products are routinely treated with contempt and disrespect resulting in extremely long unloading delays. We often get reports of 8-12 hours for a single truck!! Restroom facilities are old, run down, and often in extreme disrepair. Sanitation is non-existent. If a driver dares to complain, the carrier is simply asked to leave and never come back again. Since Meijer is such a large corporation, one single complaint from a driver can often lead to their dismissal, as their employer wants to take no chance at loosing the business. Very shameful behavior for a company that tries to present such a wholesome image to the public, for sure!

I will not say which Meijer I work at, because as of today I still currently work them. I've been with the company for 5 years. It's never been the best job I've had, but it has definitely become the worst. In elementary school, I lived in terror every morning of having to get on a school bus and sit next to some bullies. I'd actually get sick with nerves. Every morning that I know I have to work, I get the same feeling of dread and terror. I am one of the friendliest cashiers (I get people that actually prefer to wait in my line, no matter how long it is just so I can ring them up), and I've never in my 5 years been told 'good job'. But I sure as hell am informed when I do something wrong. I see many other co-workers, including myself, harassed on a daily basis by either management or the worthless S.Cs. Our store director is an apostle from Hell. I've been screamed at by him, because I yawned in front of a customer instead of shouting like a drunk S.O.B "HELLO! WELCOME TO MEIJER!" To the customers, do not shop here. Meijer does not care about your needs or your wants however basic they may be. There prime object is money, and our store directors get a huge Christmas bonus by making us ask you if you want to sign up for a credit card. You are mocked and berated as soon as you walk away from dealing with management. Unfortunately (fortunately?) I am stuck in this dead end job, because I need the money and the health insurance. On the glorious day I get to walk into the office and give my notice, I will never again shop at Meijer. I know how Meijer treats its employees as well as customers, and it is far more than degrading. It's been an eye opening experience for me.

I work at meijer store number 150, have been working their for 2 years now and i would have to say that the grocery team leader is horrible. There have been multiple complaints on him from customers and other employees and nothing is done about it. He talks down to other employees and likes to yell at the other employees for his mistakes. The store director will not do anything probably because they are friends. store #150 needs a new grocery team leader

My daughter works at Meijers, if she new I was writing this she would kill me. She tells me about the things that go on at Meijers with management and I am in pure disbelief. She had a great job a few years ago but with Michigan she lost her job. She works now at Meijers for the pay, hours and dis-respect I have no clue why. But I don't say a word not my place. But I will tell the public. She has worked there 2 yrs approx. and missed one day. She was really really sick but felt guilty for calling in one shift. As a human resource mgr I said well if you feel guilty, call in explain you don't feel well and see if they are kind enough and say stay home if your sick. As a mgr that is how I would handle. Mgmt told her come in were busy. SHE DID ERRRR She was late because of going back and forth on with her feelings. They wrote her up. I was shocked.
I really think mgmt should be looked at there. I am 50 yrs old and never heard of such a thing in my life. Dogs get treated better than this. I will NEVER shop there again. NEVER

I work at Meijer's and they do not treat their employees with any kind of respect. They work us like dogs and do not compesate us. If you go to the stores and can not find anyone that is because they won't employee more people and most of them are up at the register. They would rather pull people off the floor and leave customer's guessing where everyone is than hiring a few cashier's. With my store I can't understand how and why the store director got his job. You should see him when an attractive woman walk's by, his head almost's twist's off. I guess it dosn't matter, as long as his numbers are up, and he get's his bonus no one cares. What about our bonus? oooooo a mer 10% employee discount and if we put appriecation card in a fish bowl and out name get's pulled we might get a $25 gift card....wow can Meijer afford that??? It makes me sick. I hate working there, but since Michigan has no job's i'm stuck.
