I have a friend who is a computer expert. He recommends and installed the free version of AVG. Three times now, I have had the free trial of the upgraded version (which I never even requested). I constantly keep getting pop-up messages, telling me that my free trial has expired. All I want is to go back to your free version.

I am very disappointed with your customer service. I needed help loading my avg service I purchased. I tried for 3 days to get the help I needed and after many long distance calls and hours on hold with no call backs, I left my phone number, email and when I did get to speak to someone they couldn't speak english!!!!!!! After paying to let them log on to my computer it never got fixed. Your tech support is horrible, no one knows how to communicate with the customer and correct the problem. I wasted 3 nights in a row on hold on and off with these stupid people and on the 3rd night I asked for a call back when done, they never did, they shut my computer down and I never heard a word since. Problem is not corrected. I am so finished with you people, and you can bet I will tell anyone who will listen about this and strongly discourage them to avoid avg. HORRIBLE customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been trying to cancel this for the last 18 days now I have been trying to reach customer service ( which their is not one to be found ) for the last 3 1/2 hours I would never use AVG again what a rip off cannot get them to stop auto renewal next call BBB

Avg Notified Me That I Ave Three Trojans. My Avg Anti-virus Says -no. You Don't>you Are Fully Protected. This Is A Bogus Claim To Have Me Buy Avg Tune Up. Since You Don't Have A Phone,i Am Thinking Of Doing Away With Both. I Know My Tune-up- Is Out Of Date-and Will Fix It At My Time-stop The Daily Alarms, And The False Report Of Trojans.

I wanted to renew my AVG Security but had trouble. I had to give my charge card number first, of course. Then when I attempted to have the security installed, I was told that my email address didn't correspond to the one they had on file. I called them and had difficulty understanding the person who answered. I tried to cancel the order but wasn't able to do that either. My credit card bill arrived today and the charges are there. I don't know what to do now.

I bought avg tuneup this morning and after going through all the download, installation, registration, and activation instructions I could not get it working. I tried to reach customer service but could not get back into my account because I could not identify what I was supposed to see in the 'I am not a robot' pictures. So even though an email from avg says my purchase has been acknowledged, the sign on the programme says my subscription has expired. I feel like I've been conned. Worse yet, they say they are going to bill me again next year for a programme that does not work.

I have been waiting over 10 weeks to get a refund of £59.99 from AVG. The automatic renewal is not made clear at time of purchase, reminder emails are not sent (even through AVG insist otherwise) giving 45 days notice with the option to cancel (as per their terms and conditions) and regardless of countless phone calls and emails I am still left waiting for my refund. The money was taken after only 30 days of AVG claiming to send an email...which I never received. AVG have got to be the most frustrating, uncaring company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I will never use them again. Totally unacceptable level of customer service.

AVG automatially renewed and withdrew funds from my checking account that was not authorized. I closed my business six months ago; I no longer have any of the computers that were used for that business; I have no use for your services. I have tried repeatedly to request a refund. I provided the information requested to the best of my ability. Since I am being bombarded with emails saying AVG wants me back, my information is available somewhere! This is nonsense!

AVG does not cancel automatic subscription renewals even when you properly go through the steps to cancel. They bill your credit card account through PayPal and force you to go through the hassle of getting PayPal and your credit card company to refuse payment.

I purchased AVG then had to pay more for help installing it-then they installed a free version and once installed told me I only had 29 days of use.

After Being Put On Hold For Thirty Minutes, I Was Finally Connected To Tech Support. I Was Told By The Tech That He Could Take Care Of My Problem (i Think This Is What He Was Saying). However After Ten Minutes Of Asking Him To Repeat Himself I Gave Up. I Then Asked To Be Connect To Billing So That I Could Cancel My Avg. This too was a lost cause.
If anyone reading this cares, please cancel my AVG. I don't want a refund, I just want to cut my tie to AVG.

I no longer use AVG. I have contacted with great difficulty some person at your offices.YOUR ref number . fund removed from my account WHY ?????. the laptop to which tune up refers I sold over 2years ago return my funds now.

I canceled my AVG on 11-11-15, which I have an e-mail from you confirming the cancelation! Yet on 12-10-15 you withdrew from my bank a charge of $54.99 for renewing my account with AVG, which I did not authorize! I phoned AVG & was told I would receive a refund within 7 to 10 days. Then I read that I should receive a refund within 30 days! It has been almost a month & still no refund? When can I expect it? Lois McCabe

After my mother's computer broke, I had her call the number listed here . Even after telling them that her computer was broken and she could not get on the computer, she was harassed to get on her computer so they could walk her through canceling her subscription. They insisted she do so. After finally getting through to them about it, they told her to call back when the subscription is almost up on a different number I'm not able to find any info online about this number, though. Sounds like a scam all around.

My mum was sent an email from AVG Netherlands saying it was about to run out, they didnt do anything about it because a technician had removed it from the computer. Suddenly $63.99 has been charged to their credit card, and the invoice said they had downloaded this year's one, the bank said they had signed for it, but they hadnt. They refuse to give the money back, zero customer service, absolutely disgusting, they are committing fraud and they know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Credit cards have had to be cancelled so they cant take money in the future.

I'm very frustrated trying to get some support over the phone. Your system is broken. I held for 10 mins. and finally pushed the button to place a call back request and was transferred to someone's voice mail box that was FULL and ended up being disconnected. Went to your website and clicked for another support # & tried that # and was told that was no longer a valid #. I will start over when I have more time, but your phone support is the worst I've experienced in a very long time.
Also I renewed my PRO performance in Sept. & your screen says I expired so I'm not a happy camper!

i have avg 2015 2 year avg and they had to change my enail address and then it messed up now it updates me to the free on but they ask if they can log in to my pc not in this world you see i have reformated it and just install windows 7 and avg ultimate
and it downloads the free one i have 360 days left and i have been give the run a round i want a manger to call me at 912-548-1988 not a tec because i am a tec not some one that just got a new pc and they don't need to log in to any pc at all i am dealing with id theft so it is on your end that needs to be fix

How can I trust your organization? I had a AVG message pop up on my screen that told me that my protection would run out in 14 days and it counted down the days. I purchased your advertised package and paid for 2 years. Now I get the message that my computer is not protected on my computer and you folks want me to make another purchase. It sounds and feels like a SCAM.

This Is More Of A Complaint,i Have Bought Avg Protection For My Computer And It Is Ok,but I Am Fed-up To The Point That If This Continues I Will Not Renew Again Next Year,please Stop Sending Emails Asking Me To Buy Your Optimizing Program I Do Not Want It And I Will Never Buy It Please Stop Interrupting Me When I Am On A Site And You Keep Doing This,i Ask For It To Be Stopped Before And Was Assured That It Would Be Stopped But It Has Not,i Will Say Again So As It Gets Through I Don't Want It And Will Never Buy It And If It Continues I Will Not Renew Next Year.

I uninstalled AVG from my computer over 8mths ago So far as I was concerned I had never signed a contract. However they have just taken £60 out of my account and there seems to be no way of contacting them except online and they don't get back. Have finally put a block on them so they cannot take any more money from me.

My Citicorp Master card received a charge of $84.99 for "computer software"
Since I did not authorize it, I filed a dispute and just learned that your company is refusing to delete the charge!'
I WILL NOT PAY IT and will no longer put up with your e-mails demanding payment and will now contact Better Business!

I used AVG a long time ago.
Was good so I thought I'll buy protection when Email arrived that said I was about to run out of protection.
Bought the product.
Downloaded the product but it wouldn't fully install so I asked technical assistance
They suggested I pay another $20 for remote help.
Online assistance said to open control panel and disable existing McCafee programme or it wouldn't install.
4 hours later I have computer screen from Mc Cafee telling me that AVG programme has not been installed.
Are these two companies the same entity ?
In the past AVG was great. Now I have wasted 2 hours trying to download and got nowhere. The suspend subscription option only applies after 1 year.It's a ripoff

AVG should be investigated by the state and federal agencies concerned with fraud. AVG consistently sends out notices that "your AVG subscription will automatically be renewed" without any prior customer consent AND without providing an email response address to complain. My IT consultant advised me to drop AVG and know I fully understand why.

By what I see in the previous comments, I have the same problems. My AVG malfunctioned months ago and I had to subscribe to another anti-virus/firewall.

While a renewal date is not due yet, I have had similar problems , where a company refuses to cancel a subscription , such as an unsatisfactory ISP, and then STEALS from my bank account.

Then, the only alternative is to cancel the account, and then open a new account , with all the hassle that comes with notifying legitimate vendors of the new account access numbers.

I have not yet called AVG customer/billing. I must do so soon, and expect the brush-offs and insensitivity experienced by those who have already commented.
