AVG has really become a hassle to use and communicating with the Indian call centre is difficult I have been placed on hold only to be cut off I have had problems understanding them and because of the frustration of dealing with them have cancelled all my AVG products. To add insult the products that I have paid for well into next year no longer work. I have been a loyal AVG customer for over ten years. Never again!

One of the worst companies to deal with.
I downloaded the AVG Antivirus program, I was receiving random popups asking you to fully subscribe, these popups caused errors in my online banking causing it to shut down,,, caused 2 payments to be cancelled.

I thought I would try a free trial of the full version of the antivirus, to do this you have to fill in your banking details,

They sent an activation code that did nothing, the software did not give me the full version,,, plus the popups got worse.

I signed into the website and clicked on to the unsubscribe, all this gave me was attempts to give me advice on how to keep the antivirus, nothing to unsubscribe.

I attempted to contact them on the chat, Low and behold it didn't work, they answered by the txt saying how can I help you, then no answers after typing in my complaint.

I visited the forum, boy loads of complaints about not being able to unsubscribe and payments not stopped, even complaints about members stopping direct debits only to find out they are reinstated illegally.

I wrote all about the above.
I received a auto generated Email stating that they are sorry that I was leaving, offering me another 30 days trial, but nothing about me being unsubscribed, or my banking details being deleted by this company.

Now every time I contact them I am ignored.

I phoned the helpline (exorbitant premium rates) only to be given drivel about giving me half price for the first year, 60 dat extra trials.

When I refused they became very rude and hung the phone up on me.
I've now threatened them that if they attempt to withdraw money from my bank (the diirect debit has been stopped on my banking app) I will contact my ombudsman and my solicitors.

3 weeks later still no response from them except for 4-5 spam emails with offers from AVG

All they want is your money with not a very good chance of refunds.

A month before subscription renewal I started getting pop-ups 4 or 5 times per day to remind me that my subscription was about to expire. These pop-ups crashed me out of anything I was working on, so I asked their so-called "support team" for help.
Their response was that there was nothing they could do about their "reminders" and the only way to stop them was to renew the subscription or uninstall AVG. Either way I would lose a month of usage that I had paid for. I cancelled their auto-renewal and set the program to "silent mode" to try to stop these "reminders" but this had no effect.
I was being charged for 10 devices when I only use it on 1 device so asked if I could change to 1 device protection but I was quoted a price that was higher than I had been offered for 10 devices.
Then they simply stopped responding so now, every time I get a pop-up reminder, I pester their "support team" by sending them a screen shot. "Support?" What a joke!
I am going to continue to pester them until my subscription expires and then get rid of their annoying crap and use Bitdefender or Malwarebytes.
Avoid AVG.

You pay your money thinking you are getting protection, all you get is endless popups trying to sell you stuff you thought you already bought. What did you get for your money, nothing evidently! Very disappointed.

Cancelled A Subscription Prior To Renewal Date. Avg Renewed Anyway, And Charged Me. I Went Through Their Instructions To Request A Refund. No Response. I Logged In Again And Got On Chat With Them. They Offered To Refund Half And Apply The Other Half To My Less Expensive Subscription. I Declined. They Ended Up Confirming They Would Cancel As Requested And Provide Full Refund. Their Online Refund Requests Are Apparently Ignored. It Should Not Be This Difficult Unless They Are Hoping People Will Give Up And They Can Make An Extra Buck.

Last year looking for anti-virus I got this. Not satisfied within the first 24hrs I called to cancel. They promised me free service(shows in their notes). Not only were they trying to charge me before the year, but had been charging me the entire time. No emails sent and they don't show on their records. But over 1k in charges with their name on my credit card. Please be careful and check your accounts.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Deducted money from my account and I was guaranteed a refund. Almost a month later and it's still not in my account. When I call the team is always in meetings and in chat they will always email me back. When confronted why it still hadn't been done it's a "technical error". AVG = SCAM.

Constantly sending popups to my Elderly Mother (who doesnt underatand computers) from Various Offices around the world tell her she needs this, that and whatever.....
Now sending me almost the same and also telling me my AVG Free is going to expire in 9 days....
I cant afford their premiums, let alone any other Premiums from other Antivirus Platforms, Im barely surviving on what Pension I have each two weeks

I am disappointed with AVG in general only because when it came time to renew, you took the liberty of renewing me for a multiple device plan, even though as far as I know, never ordered or had before. ONLY MY 1 P C. I many times don't check my emails or or charges, so this very well could have gone unnoticed. I feel like someone took advantage of me. The representative was kind enough to refund my over payment ( although it took 3 or 4 times of explanation to get her to understand my issue.) It is causing me trust issues with AVG. Not only that, I had to spend a good amount of time on the phone dealing with this problem that was not because of any action I took. Not only that, but to get my refund back on my credit card, I have to wait 5 to 7 business days for it to be issued to pay pal, + another 5 to 7 business days to have pay pal issue refund to my actual credit card. Quite an unnecessary inconvenience. I will have to think about renewal next year before I renew. As much as I like AVG better, Malwarebytes never did anything shady like this to me. you people should be offering me a few additional months of service for free.

i have been with AVG for years when the app stopped working and ended up coast me a lot of money to fix my laptop, when i called AVG and told them about it all they were intresed in was getting me to renew with them , no offer of paying me any money for what it coast me to fix my laptop after they app stuffed my laptop

We just had the rudest people on your nz phone whom would not listen to what we were saying we had money taken out of our credit card $55 for a product we don't even what and when we rung they wanted to charge us $99 to cancel we disputed this and said we haven't receive anything no training there I will make sure family and friends never deal with this company again

Called AVG because I was not fully protected and after 45 minuets the technician wanted $199us to help me. Told him NO.
I uninstalled/reinstalled AVG and fixed the problem myself.
These are thief's not technicians.

On 15/06/2017 I paid NZ$337.56 on-line for two AVG Download products but cant get these to download, (I am elderly and not too clever with this computer stuff). I would really appreciate if someone could phone me on NZ and talk me through how to get this download successfully completed. I am normally available between 09.00am and 09.00pm. Or perhaps there may be some NZ office number I could contact.

purchased avg anti virus put in my sales # and license #. would not install, Called their tech rep and was told that they would install it for me if I bought a service plan from $100 to $400. No plan purchase no install; so now must go to Norton or some company that has a disk for installing myself. Avg no longer comes with a disk. I feel this is a Scam to get people to buy their service plan.

After reading these comments and going through some very frustrating experiences after being a customer for 6 years, it's apparent that the people they have hired in customer service actually have no understanding as to what that is and know anything about problem resolution. They consider folks like us as acceptable losses and will hold your money as long as possible to gain that interest on the bonds they hold. Sum it up to a lack of ethics. They know that state a federal laws favor them. I suggest that everyone spends an hour a day forever filing a grievance against them if warranted on any web site, Blog, consumer protection agency you can find until eventually your Attorney general will have to pay attention. Doing nothing and giving up is what they expect. Be smart about it and mature.

The above was from AVG who sent me an email stating they had no other options to help me when their Anti-Theft Software locked my LG G5 thereby rendering it totally useless.
I tried with my Service Provider and with the Manufacturer LG to have a factory reset done on my G5 but because AVG's software was the cause of the lock down thereby becoming the 'third party" in which neither my Service Provider nor the Manufacturer could do a factory reset and unlock my device.
AVG states "we are unable to help you as we do not have any options to do a factory reset."
AVG had the gall to say "We understand your frustration at this moment. We hope you understand the limitations."
AVG does not understand the frustration they cause for their customers therefore AVG is not maintaining nor living up to their motto
Sad thing is my cell phone will send emails showing myself trying to break into my phone yet when you request a password reset it presents no email AVG's Anti-Theft Website cannot locate my G5 cannot reset the Security Pin. How then does my device keep getting emails at an email address not registered with the device as the product was purchased for my PC the Android download was an additional option offered by AVG to protect all my devices.
FRUSTRATED to the Nth degree is an understatement. AVG, at least, owes me a replacement LG G5 (my current one was purchased 01/2017 still under warranty) still brand new).
Service is not their first priority nor is keeping their customers happy.

I found out today Tthat for ten years that Avg has been hitting one of my credit cards yearly for $69 dollars for and anti virus that has never worked from day one. when bought to their attention. Giving them the benefit of the doupt. These people imformed me thre would be a charge to install the software correctly'. Very unprofessional with the customer service, Use this antivirus at your own risk.Do your research. This antivirus has a history of not being what it represents its self tobe.

Hi I have been on a lond brake holiday break with no internet access and on my return found that AVG has renewed my subscription using my card details. I have now been disconected from this service I do not however require the product for this year as i purchased already another antivirus program. Please cancel this automatic transaction.

Stay away from AVG. Can't get past technical support to complain to someone in head office. Like someone else who left a review, AVG is more like a virus than an anti virus software. Worst technical support of any company I have dealt with.

Cancelled June 2015, was charged renewal in December 2015, contacted them again even though they had confirmed my original cancellation and just received a renewal on my CC Decemeber 2016.

This is not a normal request for refund. Your software created a virus and your tech support team not only could not fix the problem but created a situation that rendered my system useless. When I asked them on several conversations to escalate the problem to upper management I was refused. I insist on a complete refund and suggested you reimbusement me for the $340.00 I had to pay for an outside source to fix my problem.

If I don't get the satisfaction from AVG I will have no choice but to take whatever action I deem necessary.

Hello my name is Dean Poulson and live in Australia. I just purchased the new AVG ultimate yesterday the 28th of September 2016.for the next day and a half spent the my time on the phone fixing my computer.. All the time been made to feel it was my fault. I was told on a regular basis that i was not talking to the right person and was put though to a another who would say the same thing. For 15 hours on the day i purchased you're product sat on the phone and or in font of my computer while the technician tried to find something wrong with my computer instead oflooking at the whole picture . After he realized that my computer was near new with brand new idition of windows 10 tried to reinstall AVG ultimate hours after that and at least 5 technicians was supposed to be fixed. Then I discovered partitions in my hard drive files that weren't mine and programs that was not there before was made to feel like I was lying. Was the worst experience i have had ever buying something. i will never purchase anything ever again from your company.. The number I was given to use when I was getting told I wasn't talking to the right people was I hope your employees get given refresha in customer service.And let me finish with it didn't have a problem with product it self just treated like it was all my fault and told to ring here and there. Could go on longer because it felt like it was 2 weeks not 2 days. Thank you. I can be contacted by my email. Worst customer service ever...I'm sure I'll find someone on Facebook who has gone through the same problem

I renewed my Avg i live in the uk no problems with it running on my computer at all.....my complaint is that it took 20 mins on the phone to renew it.Then when i looked at my bank statement they had took three payments......leaving me 85 pounds over charged. Then i had to call them up another 20 mins......hopefully i will get a refund.......they did the same thing to my ex husband as well......up o now he has never got a refund.....its not fair when you need the money to pay other bills

AVG has the worst customer service I have ever found with any company. They sold one of my customers a 2 year subscription and have so far refused to give him a key so he can install the product. I have spent over 2 hours on the phone and another hour on their chat line without any response. When I phoned I was sent in circles. There tech support is terrible and they have no idea how to solve the problem. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had the best experience with AVG Support. I couldn't get the chat window to open so I called them instead. They sent me an email with a code that I could use to get someone to remotely connect to my computer for free. I had ads by CloudScout everywhere and windows popping up with more ads. He tried multiple ways to fix my computer and didn't give up until the problem was completely gone!

yesterday, Monday 23 March 2015, I had problems downloading AVG anti-virus and Tune up, so I rang AVG and got to speak to Brian (Team Viewer 10) he was absolutely marvellous and I cannot thank him enough for what he did. He made it all sound so simple and has really sorted my computer out. I can't believe the patience he had.

AVG helped me out and to get set up with a problem I had. the severice is vary good and the help is nice. I use two of their producks tha outher thing is AVG don't use a lot of space on your pc like Norton. and Norton cost more to thank you all from AVG

Have been very satisfied with my AVG Antivirus during 2 years. Have recently upgraded to Internet Protection and the chat support was very quick and helpful to offer that, however I gave them my Credit card details on the chat... was that safe ? well I received an email notification and Invoice pdf that looked to be from the AVG company. I am not sure if the credit card info will be safe forever with them.
Else nothing to complain about.

I have run avg for years and never had a problem with them. I contacted them about 2 files that were not being repaired after running a scan and I got through in under 5 minutes and the tech guy showed me problem and said he would fix it. After him taking control with my permission I watched what he was doing and he said he would call me back in about an hour after he had repaired the problem and he did. This guy was very polite and professional,my problem repaired,and my computer has never ran so good for a long time. Thank you for a great job and keep up the good work.

I have been using AVG for years and I wont use any other Antivirus protection; because it is the best ! I think that even if they may have been rude to some of you guy's in customer support (never to me ) that you all need to realize they have to deal with rude customers all day- just like you all !
I find that if you are really nice to people when they are rude 1st, be kind anyways and you will bless them and thing's will go much smoother ! Diana
