After being denied access online to a free annual credit report, I tried calling the various toll-tree lines that Experian offers on their website. None of those allowed me to talk to someone although they did offer a variety of paid services as well as help if you submitted your credit report number. (That was the problem, I couldn't get the credit report). In calling the number, the operator was a bit confused and offered me the toll free numbers first. I explained that I had tried these several times but could not speak to someone which was the only way to address my issue. She transferred me to Debbie who was quite helpful and claimed to be sending the report out today. Although she could not find the reason for not being able to access the report on my earlier attempts, she patiently listened to the problem and offered the information she had. Thank you to Debbie

I just called and spend more than two hours of my life and before the agents understood or heard all of what I had to say, they transferred me. I have an identity theft issue and they keep trying to charge me $39.95 to talk to someone about it! All I needed to know is if I can take off the hold on my account! Then they transfer me to online which tries to transfer me back to them!

My name is Karen Garel. I was disappointed in my credit score. Some of the payments were made, but it still has it listed as unpaid, which resulted in a low credit score. I have the document which shows some of the items were paid. The Portfolio Recovery Associates was paid in full, account number Please get in contact with this company and tell them I paid it in full. I have only 180.00 dollars left to pay off Capital one which is in progress, account number

Experian customer service is terrible. You can call and call again and not get a live voice. You almost have to call as if you're a new member trying to join the program to get a live voice who then transfer you back to the same automated system. I've been trying to get a live voice almost 40 minutes!

Experian has poor customer service. You can call and call and call again and constantly get re-routed to an automated voice and not a live voice. When you call they won't give you a direct number to a live voice to file a dispute. It's absolutely crazy!

Experian SUCKS!! Because of you guys I had trouble getting health insurance and am still having trouble. All because I cancelled my membership with FreeCreditReport you mess with my identify. My identity can't be found and once I was told it had been verified I still wasn't able to get insurance. It still said "Identity Not Verified".

Karim employee

Mr. Karim would not provide a last name or name of a direct supervisor nor would he provide a way to launch a complaint. He was very rude and would not allow a word in edgewise. We couldn't understand what he was saying and he got mad and became argumentative. My mother is ill and in hospice and he had no compassion and should not be working with people if he lacks the patience, respect and professionalism that the job requires. He stated that he was tired and has been doing "this" all day and apologized for constantly messing up on my name.

At the end of the call, Mr. Karim acted like his was transferring the call to someone else and hung up on me. How rude, demeaning and outright disrespectful and not becoming of a human being/ professional.

I received a USPS mail suggesting I have requested an annual free credit report.

I have not.

Although "Shena" tried to be helpful:
1) I could hardly hear her & asked her to speak louder several times.
2) It's possible her accent was making things more difficult to understand her.
3) I was very disappointed this number is NOT an Experian number, which I was led to believe was the case when I searched to talk with a human at Experian.

Now I've been directed to either the automated number or website whereupon I assume I will not be able to receive the information I'm seeking.

Unlike Transunion and Equifax, Experian is just plain horrible. Their website is the most user/customer unfriendly site I have ever tried to navigate. Their customer service reps actually enjoy playing hard-ball.

I got the info from AARP magazine re the credit score. If I didn't respond they would send me monthly scores. I wrote letters and tried every phone number but to no avail. You can't talk to a real person. You have poor reports with many errors. I don't want ny further reports from you

The entire company is an absolute disgrace. Its impossible to get even the most simple problems solved.

This thing is terrible, I wanted to pay 1$ for credit report then the site says you have to pay 30$ ! after paying that I was surprised to find a monthly payment of 12$ !!! I did not sign for that ! when I called they said its not refundable and it was mentioned in the website somewhere !! all I can do was cancelling and I have lost 50$ instead of 1$ !! I really dont like this and never again deal with experian

Like several others I've seen commenting, I tried every number and web-site they provided only to be sent through an automated system which provided zero assistance. I have been reported deceased by one or more of the bureaus and am trying to make sure everyone knows I'm upright. Still have't figured out how to accomplish a relatively simple task.

The whole system sucks

You don't show your hours - and the voice mail simply says we are closed call back later. Sort of missing on the customer service aspect...

It would be very helpful for your company to be more customer friendly, such as having an actual person to speak to. This is so frustrating trying to dispute items on my credit report and I have no one to speak to. Your Customer Service is the worst, and your a Customer Service based business. It would be probably a financial gain for your company to read all of the complaints, and fix the problem.

I called 15 times today and every time the phone call lasted for approximately 1 1/2 minutes. As soon as they asked me for my SSN the called dropped. I called from 3 different phones, so it wasn't on my end!!! Once or twice would have been no big deal, but 15 times!!!????? Experian plays a lot of games. I never did get to a point where I provided my entire SSN. Anybody else experienced this problem?

I had no idea my credit was bad. The guys at Credit Sudhaar analysed my report. The process took some time but my credit was restored, enhanced and protected. I have no reason for complaints.

Experian ad will say that they will charge a $1 to check your credit report and they will charge you $32.95 plus the $1. You call to complaint and they will tell you this: "I am sorry Mr. we don't give your money back". They are polite thieves. I suggest to anyone to avoid this scams.

I received a credit report directly from experian more than 90 days ago. It looked fine. I then received a credit report from my mortgage lender and there were errors on it. When I called Experian to report the errors, I can't actually talk to anyone on the phone because I received the report from a lender and not directly from experian. The report I received from Experian is more than 90 days old, so it's not recent enough. The only way I can talk to somebody about the error is by buying a new credit report from them. That's a scam, pure and simple.

She said providing an experian credit report # is the only way they can verify that it's really me calling, but that's not true, and I don't even want to learn any information about myself, I just want to report an error.

I was told I could write a letter, mail in a copy of my license, a copy of my SS card, and proof residence, and that they might be able to get back to me within 30 to 45 days, but she couldn't be sure, it could be longer. And then, the woman said she needed to take other calls and that she didn't actually work in customer service. She said I should go back to the main menu to get more information about mailing in corrections, but there's no option on the main menu to learn about that (I know because this was the third time i had been through this drill). When I asked to speak to somebody else in customer service and then ask a follow up question about writing in, she hung up on me. She hung up on me! Couldn't believe it. That's a real rarity even in the world of terrible help lines. When we were speaking I was certainly annoyed, but I wasn't rude or verbally abusive in any way. Experian should really be ashamed of themselves.

Experian is reporting my dad's info onto my report. We have the same name so I figured it would be a simple fix like it was with the other 2 agencies. I had a copy of the issue from my bank but when I called there was no way to speak with a human without a report number, which experian appears to sell for only a dollar. I gave in and bought the report, noticing the fine print saying I had to call some number within 7 days or be charged $19 monthly. Ugh.

I hit approve and get an error message. Recheck my info, perfect, try again and it shows me my report. There were false cards and my personal information was packed full of mistakes. I click to dispute the first innacurate card and it wouldn't let me then gave me a number to call.

After ten minutes on the phone and not getting anything close to a person on the line I try the dispute online again and once I hit send it gave me an error message saying I was no longer allowed to dispute online. For security purposes it wouldn't tell me why.

At this point it's getting ridiculous but far from over. Try for an hour to contact an actual person just in time to hear a message stating that they had just closed for the weekend. Guess I have to wait to start the process.

So today I called the number to prevent the $19 monthly charges. Extremely hard to understand the person but am basically told that I will have no way to clear up my dispute if I refuse to pay since they will immediately close the account with which I filed the dispute. They offer me half off as if it's a favor to only pay half the amount monthly for them to fix their own mistakes but hey I have a few days to figure it out before they charge and I do need to get this stuff removed.

I then try to sign into my experian account and it locks me out saying I triggered a security issue and to call some number to set it right. Call and after ten minutes they unlock it claiming I entered my info wrong, which absolutely did not happen. Finally I get back in, try to finish up filing the disputes and inaccurate personal info, and when I go to send it get a message that I am no longer allowed to file disputes online and must call some number. Call and no humans available until next Monday.

Out of curiosity I check my credit card company. Experian has charged me 3 separate one dollar fees. This means they set up three different accounts for which will be billed $19 EACH at the seven day mark. Serious scam. I call my card company who did a conference call with experian and cancelled all three accounts. I get a confirmation number and am told they have fifteen days to refund the two extra charges which I clearly never agreed to and we eventually get them to cancel any future charges and their insane revolving membership fees. The woman was furious at me for going through my card company, didn't even try to act professional.

Now I have wasted hours of my life, realize they have my report so backwards it's scary and seriously feel as if experian themselves are scamming me. I am now worse off than before I attempted to fix the original mistake, which is on their end, not mine. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with and it is scary that they have access to anyone's credit information.

I had to call four different numbers before I got a real person on the line. Unfortunately they really can't even do much to help. I hate credit reporting agencies because unlike the protection that we have with medical info and HIPPA regulations, our other personal information...all of it can be purchased by anyone and false reports, including incorrect names and addresses, can end up on your report and be almost impossible to get rid of.

I have just been charged $53.90 each for both my husband and I. All for a free credit report! The free credit report ended up costing me a dollar apiece. The fact that I hit print on my reports cost me another $31.95 each. THEN, and then I couldn't get in to the account to cancel my one week free trial so they charged me another $19.95 each. Seriously. I finally had the patience to get through to them and they let me cancel my membership but not my husband's because they could speak with him. Even though I knew all of the verification information. Bull crap. I signed up without him. Gee whiz, Wally. They refused to do any refunds period. This credit reporting stuff is just a scam. I never am late on any mortgage, car, or credit card payments, EVER. BUT because I dispute costs on hospital bills and delay paying them until I am sure the insurance company has paid thier share, I have a crappy credit score. All for less than $600 worth of hospital bills. Going debt free to get off the grid....

Terrible. Just Terrible! Cant access my report because I'm not answering their questions correctly. Obviously their info is wrong! The point is to view my report and speak to someone to fix the discrepencies. Duh!
