Called the call center in India, no one could speak proper English, wanted the service for one month only, was told I will pay for only one month, received my credit card statement, they are still charging me. No more business with this company. Also, I do not understand why I had to give all my personal information to strangers in an other country where fraud is high.

Equinox is very difficult to work with. I requested a free credit report after a fraud alert and all they wanted to do was hard sell their 30.00 a month protection plan. Very difficult to deal with when in a critical situation.

yes i am so mad with this company i cancelled this report within the 7 day period and i was checking my bank account and saw that you all had taken 17.95 out of my account so immediately i called because i did what i was suppose to do and thid guy name Jibin badge# JXT54 according to him i am just now real sure about that either but mind you i am on disability and i have to budget all my money so this takes away from me getting 3 of my medicines for the month and he had the nerve to start laughing so what kind of people do you have working for you so to say the least i am livid that he did not try to help but was laughing during the time we was on the phone so in all actually you all stole 17.95 from my account when i did what i was suppose to do

I wanted to dispute an item on my report. Before proceeding, the representative asked for SSN, DOB, place of birth, and 2 account numbers of debts held. This number is an identify theft scam. When I explained my concerns when Experian and TransUnion did not require all of this information, only my SSN and DOB with knowledge about what was on the credit report, the representative wanted me to list out all of the questions the other companies were asking.

So I applied for a loan, get approved then have it all stop dead in its tracks because Equifax has my birth year as one year before it actually is.

So I call them and get connected with a East Indian gentleman who's english is barely passable I have to ask him to repeat himself every other sentence. So he informs me that because of security reasons I have to fax them a copy of my DL and BC along with a cover letter and it will take about 15 business days.
So I tell him just how unacceptable that is, and that its holding up a loan. To which he tells me if I put rush on it, it will take 3-5 business days. So I can accept that, I mean I get how you wouldn't want someone to be able to easily change such important information.

So three days pass... I call. Nope, four... nope... five YES! Yet another East Indian gentleman informs me that my birth year has been changed.

So I call up my loan officer tell him the good news, and he pulls the report. Then AND I QUOTE! "Oh my god Cody, you won't believe this but they messed it up again". In shock at this moment that they somehow could possibly mess up again after getting a copy of my Birth Certificate I call back Equifax.

This time is an East Indian lady that takes my call, we verify all my info and she tells me that yes it appears there is still a misstake with my birthday. So I'm keeping it together and tell her about the change I had them do, and well she tells me that she sees the request but that I only requested my birth year be changed. I put in the request I sent to them to change my birth year to reflect my birth certificate.

Deep breaths.. staying calm. I tell her thats because when I called in and asked them about my birthday they said that only the year didn't match. She tells me shes sorry but it seems someone made a misstake and that I'll have to fax them in another request.

Somehow... I'm still calm with this woman, I tell her that she has my BC, and DL in front of her and could she please just correct the error. She puts me on hold.

Seven minutes later she comes back on to inform me that she has put in the request for a change and that its going to take another three to five business days to process. I tell her thats unacceptable, Equifax has already delayed my loan for a week, and the mistake was made on their end. So I ask to talk to supervisor.

On hold for another five minutes only for her to come back and tell me that a supervisor will just tell me the same thing, that the request has to be sent to another office where its processed there. At this point I'm beyond pissed off, I tell her that this has been the worst customer service experience of my life and hang up.

So to sum this up, Equifax uses a call center in India that has zero power to change anything, all they can do is send in requests to the actual company in the states. Oh just to add, not a single person of the about... seven representatives I spoke with.. could manage good english, each one was a struggle to talk to.

If Equifax was to rate their customer service like they rate credit scores, their report will say: BANKRUPTED!

Their customer service is poor and careless.

First off the people working there don't speak understandable english. They will pass your call from person to person, and keep you on the line for hours and still not be able to provide you a solution to your problems. *Make sure to have your phone plugged in if you want to go through this torture*

Also it seems like their costumer service offices are in India and their service reps have no knowledge of North American timezones, protocol and standards.
Yet when you ask their names they go by names like: Charlie, Bob and Steve and no last name. Which shows the lack of accountability and responsibility the company has for their customers and their sensitive information. I have nothing against people in India.
But when it comes to personal and very sensitive information such as social security number, bank accounts, credit score I would prefer dealing with some one in North America or a country that abides by similar rules, standards, security and reputation.

I don't think this kind of job under any circumstances should be given to a random "Charlie No last name", in a very deregulated country.

This comment is only in relation to Equifax Canada. On their website, they have absolutely no way of contacting an actual person. You call an automated system that directs you to a website to fill out a form that you don't have all the documents for because you actually need to speak to Equifax to get your "unique number" On the website it has an option to get your credit report now (since apparently you need to first get a copy of your report even when you know what the inaccuracy is) and when you click it, it's a form that you have to fax or mail in. While on the automated system I stated "Customer Service" "Representative" "CSR" and then was kicked out since "Customer Service is not a valid option" boy, you weren't kidding.
We managed to find the American Equifax line to a direct representative and they gave us the phone number to speak to an actual person. The person we spoke with could benefit from soft skills training as there was a lot of "hmmm" "ummm" and even "mmmm hmmm" when we asked a yes or no question. When asked if they received a letter of satisfaction he first said no, then yes, then hmmmmm. They have asked us to fax in our forms for the third time and their fax machine has been off for 2 days. (Monday and Tuesday) This issue has been going on for 5 years. FIVE. YEARS.
It's a shame that we really don't get an options when it comes to credit bureaus. Equifax's current business model of treating people like dirt would prove less than fruitful.

I was making a real estate transaction that was time sensitive. Everything was going well until the firm I was dealing with ran my Equifax report., (the only company they use.) Mind you, the other major credit reporting companies got it straight, not this one.
I have sent the information requested 2 X and was assured by all parties that the combining of my files would take place within 48 hours, This was nearly a month ago! I secured financing through another method and paid outright for my purchase, no thanks to the numerous people involved. I will keep trying, but this is no way to run a business that has consequences that are costly. Even when they are at fault or in the wrong, it isn't fixed satisfactorily. I will give you praise on the fact that everyone was polite and seemed sincere, but just fix the mess, Please.

Trying To Phone Your Company In Canada Is About The Most Annoying Process I Have Been Through, The Automated System Is Ridiculous. I Am In The Process Of Trying To Buy A Home And Get Financing. Your Company Is Holding Me Up According To My Bank. I Have Been Trying All Day To Speak To A Live Body But The Only Luck I Had Was Calling The Usa. Try Calling The Number I Was Given And See What Nonsense It Is. You Are Prompted To Press 1 Or 2 Then Told Those Numbers Don't Exist. I Can Honestly Say For A Company That Banks And People Require Immediate Service From It Is Very Poorly Run.

Never seen such a rude customer representative! Started yelling that he couldn't understand. Racist, not helpful, pressuring, will never ever deal with equifax again, even if I go bankrupt.

Extremely bad customer service and misleading website that prompts you to purchase monthly reports and you are charged every month $15.00 instead of one time report. The customer service and Supervisor does not even care about the negative reviews and complains. I cannot believe that exactly a company that provides credit service would have such a lousy business and makes money by robbing people. Very disappointing experience.

The most unresponsive customer service I have experienced in years. I paid to have a credit freeze lifted from my account for a week while I was applying for credit. As anyone who uses a credit freeze knows, you pay a small fee to have this done. In NY State the fee from Equifax is $5.00. When I looked at my bank statement, I noticed Equifax charged me $5.00 three separate times. They were supposed to charge me $5.00 once. I realized this was probably a mistake and that I would call them to correct it.

What happened next was nothing short of a series of pathetic, rude and arrogant customer service experiences. I tried to email, but never got a response. I navigated the odyssey of phone transfers to speak with someone when I was finally told I needed the refund department. Then I am told the refund department doesn't take calls and that I would have to fax them.

I gave up because it only amounted to $10.00 in over charged fees but what an embarrassment it is for this organization to have such a detached approach to handling problems that they caused in the first place.

Unfortunately consumers do not have the ability to choose which credit bureau maintains their personal records, but if we did I would not allow such an inept operation to handle any personal information of mine.

Out of the 3 Credit reporting companies this is by far the worst one to deal with. After finding out I could not get my free report from AnnualCreditreport.com I then went to Equifax to purchase a report from them. After signup and charge to my Debit card I found they still wanted me to call them to verify myself. Which I did and was told I needed to resign up online and it would work. Which I did and it did not allow me to view my report and charged me a 2nd time. I then called in again and after extensive verification was told to get my free one at Annualcreditreport.com and that I didn't need to pay for it. Ok tried that again and was unable to get it. I then called Equifax a third time and finally got it but also have 3 pending charges on my debit for this. I do hope they will drop as I really don't want to call them yet again. So yeah basically worst agency ever to deal with. Not to mention the lack of clear communication on all 3 calls. The customer service reps were very difficult to understand.

The agent to whom I was automatically assigned, was very difficult to understand. I had to ask him to repeat himself several times. not only that, he could not read words that, I assume, are often used in the collections business. ("financial," etc...) I asked him where he was calling from, and he said he couldn't tell me. I spent 16 minutes trying to find out who I owe $150. to, and you would have thought I was trying to get him to pay me!

I ordered my free credit report and gave my credit card number for $7.95. The computer told me my card was charged $19.95 and then hung up. I spoke with Mayten...and she says I have been only charged $7.95 and will be sent my score and credit report in the mail. All of this has taken about an hour, and I am exhausted....and I must wait 7 to 10 days to see if anything shows up. I am 75 years old...and I need for this to be less trying. L. King

More than a review this is a fraud alert to consumer from a company that is supposed to calculate people's credit score and save people from fraud.

Exceptionally bad customer service. I registered for a free trial on there account. Months later I realized this. Never ever got an email notification that I am Being charged or any email alerts( they claimed email were sent out and looks like there system was screwed up).

After haggling over phone for hour they agreed to file a claim for me and opened a ticket to finance department for reimbursement. They agreed that I never used there product, and never logged in. I called a week back with ticket number and they told me it is still under investigation. In fact the call center person on first call promised me that this will be worked on favorably as I ddid not use there product stall and never logged in and never got email from them

I called a week later from that day. I had lost the ticket number but asked to look at from my account and they DONt have any record of opening a ticket for me or conversation I had at there call center.. They are outright denying the fact. I had no more patience for this horrible service...

I really think they are fraud and they take up people money.. If I had time and money I would have sued them. I don't so will just tell everyone and at every website my experience.

Don't get report Fromm them.. There are other more Friendly credit report companies... Extremely bad..

CEO are you reading this or you are also fraud like your call center?

I have been having much of the same problems as all of you. I have called 4 times now to resolve a name issue on my credit report (only with them by the way) which causes people who use equifax to not be able to pull a credit report AT ALL!! this makes it impossible to be approved for ANYTHING!!! The first time I called they wouldn't let me into my account because my name was wrong but i didn't figure that out until a week later when I called again and went through the 17 hoops of security to verify i am who i say i am. according to the law the turn around time for correcting inaccurate information on your credit report is 30 days from the date that you issued a dispute. the company claims that because my dispute was not processed until 6/5 that they have until 7/5 despite the fact that i called and initiated a DISPUTE on the phone on 5/29 putting 7/2 (expected date of completion) at 34 days which is 4 days LATE. the other two credit bureaus have already gotten my name change and didn't need anything from me so why is it that the third credit bureau didn't get the information. yes i know they don't share information but it seems kind of fishy that equifax is the only one that didn't get the update in information. its absolutely ridiculous and i hope someone sues them. they are horrible at what they do and they are disrespectfull as all hell on the phone. they interrupt you constantly and you can barely get a word in edgewise. the other two companies are very nice and respectful. also equifax if you are going to use gendered pronouns for your customers (i.e. sir or maam) GET IT RIGHT!!! ASK!!!!!!! Do not continue to use Ma'am when the individual on the phone has just said that they are a sir! literally told the supervisor i was a sir and they said sorry Ma'am. Really?? It's a respect issue come on. Also it is really hard to verify information when you have been denied credit if you can't actually get your report from the credit bureau. The supervisors are horrible. Both of the supervisors I have spoken with Jen and Reese get on the phone and then they go silent. you say something and then they don't respond for like a full 10 seconds! It is very disrespectful and disconcerning when you are on the phone with a supervisor and the line just seems to go dead. Worst company ever I hope they get sued. Shocking that they aren't doing something about the horrible reviews everywhere. absolutely ridiculous. And if you want to bypass a lot of the hoops ask for a confirmation number. it will save you some time.

Tried to contact Equifax for my free copy of my credit report as entitled to me by law after being denied a credit line increase. The number provided for me by my credit card company connected me to an automated Equifax service; I followed the prompts and was informed for my request I needed to call a DIFFERENT Equifax number, so I did and was connected with another automated service.

The second automated service forced me through about 7 "hoops" before it got to the part where it asked me if I wanted my credit report and score, which I said "Yes" to. The next recording asked for my credit card number so they could charge me $7.95 for the credit score, which they had failed to mention costs extra. There was no way to cancel or back up, I had to hang up, call back and go through the hoops all over again to get to the right point where I could select only the free portion of the credit report. It then said, "please hold while your call is being transferred." and then hung up on me!

This whole system is obviously a labyrinth set up to discourage people from obtaining what they are entitled to free by law. The various phone numbers, the various menu selection and the attempt to trick people into purchasing additional items when all they want is what they are entitled to. To top it all off, if you manage to navigate to the end of the maze, they simply hang up on you! This is saving them lots of money they are putting right in their own pockets I am sure, since every credit report they don't have to mail out for free is just more earnings for them. Nice way for them to dodge the law, but who is going to stop them?

Absolutely horrendous cookie cutter response customer support. After navigating a gauntlet of issues with the site and finally reaching my credit report printout, the site crashed completely when I attempted to open it. I'm currently on hold for the 3rd time waiting for their abysmal "tech support". This must be what hell is like.

My attorneys, the courts, the judge, and myself sent in a 40 page document to correct/remove items from my credit report. I was supposed to receive an updated report that is supposed to show where the improper items were removed. In addition, I have signed documentation from Equifax that they have indeed received all documentation. This was completed and signed for by Equifax 7/8/2013. Today is 4/30/2014 and not only is the information that supposed to be removed still on my credit report they never did anything according to the most recent credit report that was run two weeks ago. I try calling and Jeremy or whoever answers states "Our systems are down call back in 15 min" of course we have to call back They use fake names and refuse to give last names. My next step is a law suite. I can prove that Equifax received the information from my attorneys, from the NJ 6th district court Judge Wizmur and myself. According to the "Fair Credit Reporting Act' If I can prove that I was denied credit or because of items that do not belong on my report or there are entries on my credit report should have been removed by Equifax or any of the 3 credit reporting agencies and they received the info and did not remove it I can sue . I can prove hands down they have received it. Nor have they ever supplied me with an updated report after the dispute was filed but they keep asking me for money and still don't produce a report. I found out why, I am entitled to recover all cost due to their errors. I am entitled to receive back. Because of the incorrect entries on my credit report I have paid over 30,000 I am suing. I am tired of going through this. I am tired of paying lawyers, I am tired of sending documentation and calling creditors and the creditors have told me they have given this info to Equifax and have sent me a copy. I have the proof that they told Equifax to remove certain items and its NOT DONE. I ALSO Want to s/w with someone from the USA. The people overseas DO NOT KNOW OUR LAWS they only care about getting paid I had a company from India call me and asked me for 700.00 to fix my credit I said why the items that need to be removed should have been removed for free. I asked them how did you get my info they said "We buy it from Equifax" I JUST COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WERE NOT TAKING THESE ITMES OFF MY REPORT THEN The light bulb went off! THIS IS WHY THEY HAVE NOT REMOVED WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO REMOVE. THEY ARE SELLING MY INFORMATION. THE LOWERE MY SCORE IS THEY GET TO SELL MY INFO AND MAKE MONEY OFF OF ME. I've had it. I've had it its been over a year I am suing these people and I will win. I can prove my case in black and white! either a creditor or the credit agency

They were absolutrely unhelpful, I phoned in April 15, 2014 to say I needed to change a phone number which I placed on my account via phone call in 2009, they said I needed to make the request in writting with my identification appended to it (no mention of needing a phone Bill), April 16th I sent the request. I followed up with them on the 28th to ensure that the file had been updated...sure enough , they said "NO is hasn't" we need a phone bill...I argued for wo hours indicating that I verified that I was who I said I was both ibn writing and verbally...end result was "sorry sir I can't help you...you will have to wait another 3 - 5 businedss days..." their unwillingness to help potentially cost me $$$. Who do they reply to, who are they responsible to anwser to? because it's sure to to the consumer....

WORST EVER CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I called them to cancel their service as they charging my credit card every month. You have to call them to cancel this and will speak to an ALIEN accent agent from INDIA. I told them, I didn't signup for annual subscription.

The agent said, its all in my email the details of my subscription but not on their website. I insisted to the agent, I didn't sign up for this and I read everything before I purchased. She hung up on me. What a rude Customer Service!SO I called my credit card company and file a dispute; they credited me right away the amount charged from Equifax.

Stay away from this horrible customer service from INDIA/PHILIPPINES.

Equifax offered no financial compensation torque Daniel Nathalie. For compensation, they must now apply to the Small Claims Court. Equifax has recently been convicted three times in similar cases. In these cases, judges have granted the plaintiffs up to $ 1,500 in punitive damages.
