We are very disappointed in Dan Hollatz of the Edward Jones office here in Hastings, Nebraska.
We went with him 5-6 years ago. He is very inactive and we felt he did not have our best interests in mind at any time. He never suggested buying or selling anything to increase our net worth.
So we went with RBC Wealth Management aproximately the first of July. We are happy with RBC's very active approach to increasing our net worth.
We had RBC transfer and close out the accounts we had at Edward Jones and we were informed by RBC that Edward Jones was being very unprofessional about this process. They (EJ) drug things out beyond what it normally takes.
To top it off, Dan Hollatz of Edward Jones called me on July 8th, 2011 and told me he wanted our son's account with Edward Jones closed out also, since my wife and I had moved our accounts out of Edward Jones. This childish behavior was a very unprofessional action for an Edward Jones professional. Plus he was whining about all he had done for us when in fact he had done nothing!
We are definitly glad we moved to RBC because we have made more money with RBC in the last month than we had with Edward Jones in the past 5-6 years!!

Edward Jones is a terrible place to put your money..... The account never grows much. I put $5000 in some mutual funds way over 10 years ago. It is now worth $3400...I was told to invest long term...Wouldn't you consider 10 years long term. I am still working on getting my principal back. Investing at EDWARD JONES IS WORSE THAN GOING TO A CASINO!!!!!

We moved all of our investments to Edward Jones after dissatisfaction with our original broker. We had lengthy discussions about how we were looking for someone who would pay attention to our investments and keep us informed when and what to buy/sell and have a hands on approach. I work offshore and don't have time to deal with this. I do understand the processes though and can participate in and understand the advice.

First they did not want to use email, which should have been my first clue. I tried to set up meetings but they were too busy to accommodate my busy schedule; never working outside of the fixed box of time.

Finally tired of being ignored, we transferred all of our investments out. Now comes the worst part. All of the investments are in "Edward Jones" name and they have to sell them to move them, with a 5% minimum commission on everything. This was thousands of dollars.

Nice tie and detailed reports when they bother to produce them

They put your money in THEIR name! 5% or $50 on EVERYTHING they sell of yours. Once you are in, you are trapped as leaving will cost you BIG.

They never paid any attention to our investments, called except to try and sell an issue. Sometimes we wouldn't hear for over a year! I would lose track of time and trusted them to keep me informed; foolish I know. But they did agree to provide this service.

Tried an investment with Edword Jones w/ an agent named samuel Pornis. He promised me a net profit but I ended up loosing $5,343 in 6 months. I recieved a letter stating all loses were due to stock decreas from moderate options I have choosen. Now when I try to call this investment agent. Sam Pornis, i get a vm stating tht voicemail is full. I am now out of 5300 in money I needed for retirement. I retire June of 2011 and have no idea what to do. The 800 # but no one their has any idea . they just say my acct is cancelled unless i pay more for options

Switch all your accounts out of Edward Jones. Put them anywhere else but not Edward Jones. Their practices are so corrupt that they make Madoff look like a choir boy. Move your money out of Edward Jones into anywhere but Edward Jones.

My advisor NEVER calls me.

When I call him, he ONLY returns my calls after business hours.

I caught his assistant checking me out first before telling me he was "in meetings" all day. I can tell thats how I'm tagged on their computers.

My accounts were transferred to a new agent without consultation. New agent insisted I make changes to my portfolio, promised it would not effect my monthly payout. When time came, I did not get my payment. Agent was unavailable. I left message at 9AM, rec'd return call at 1PM. Wrote letter to EDJ. Just received reply, basically calling me a liar. I will transfer all my funds from them at my earliest convenience.

My broker at Edward Jones did not even know how to disburse my SEP for rollover . She accused my accountant of not knowing how to do her job. Also...my account was transfered to another Edward Jones broker w/out my knowledge. Very unprofessional...please stay away from Edward Jones.
