Loyal family customers here, all the kids lines, spending around $250 month for service for the past 5 years. Think Alltel would give great service to a loyal customer who lost their phone, and allow us to purchase a replacement for what we paid. Nope. $459 for a new one, $429 for a refurbished model, and even the supervisor at the corporate office Would. Not. Budge. Condescending remarks "thats why we always say you need insurance". Like that would help now. Looking for smart ass comments? No. Looking for a fair solution? Yes. Online, they offer it $99 for new customer, we asked for same deal, even to pay $199, NOPE. As soon as our contract is up, they can kiss us goodbye. So disgusted that loyalty and being a long time customer means NOTHING to them.

Every month I get over charged by Alltel and have to spend time on the phone with them to straighten it out. This has been going on since last summer. EVERY MONTH! There should be a way to get out of this contract without paying. Why have they not been turned into the better business bureau? Think of the people being overcharged and just paying the bill without question. I had 15 people on my contacts list and found out they had all been erased so was being charged for those phone calls also. Something is wrong and they need to let us out of our contract! They are trying to rip EVERYONE off!

I have been with Alltel for many years. I am very disappointed in their customer service. I too am switching as soon as I am out of contact with them. phone and internet. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!

My experience with Alltel in the last 4 months has been horrible. My bill has not been right in those 4 months and we have had to call or visit the alltel in our neighborhood to straighten it out. I can not wait till our contract runs out so I can be rid of alltel once and for all.

Just as soon as soon as my wife's a my contracts are up bye bye alltel...been with alltel for 11 years just tired of their garbage phones, no service, dropped calls, repeat text messages...customer service SUCKS...bye bye alltel....

I have been a customer of Alltell for 16 years and after going to a store location, being told they could not help so we would have to contact corporate, only to call and explain the entire situation with no resolution, I finally decided to then request to speak to a supervisor. I was told they only had one supervisor on the floor and she was to busy, so they would have her call me in a short time. Needless to say I never rec'd a follow up call. I called again the following day and again had to explain why I was calling, requested a supervisor. I did have the opportunity to speak to a supervisor, I asked if she would review the account and stated my reason for calling. Needless to say what a waste of time, she obviously was not going to take the time to review the information and advised that although they appreciated my business, there was nothing they could do. Very matter of fact, basically felt like I was bothering her and well needless to say with their customer service we now know why everyone is bailing on Alltel. I cannot wait until my contract is up so I can join the ranks. Obviously they don't think they need to provide great customer service especially to loyal customers!

Alltel is by far the worst provider out there, I send 1 text message and if it goes thru it copies its self 3-6 times, I get my voicemails a day later..and so on..I am tired of paying for this crap service

I have become so dissatified with alltel the past few months. Customer service is terrible....you never get the same answer twice when calling about a problem with your phone. My touch screen went out on my phone on January 2, 2012. I called alltel on the January 6, 2012 and a agent order a replacement phone for me. After many phones to alltel, I still have not recieved my replacement phone(1-26-2012). Each time it's a different reason as to why it has not shipped. I'm tired of this. I will be changing companies when my contract ends.

I have just completed reading over 50 comments and found only 2 to be from a satisfied customer of Alltel Wireless. Well folks, this comment is from a dissatisfied satisfied customer of Alltel.
I have been with alltel for more than 12 years(my first wireless phone was a bagphone), and I was very satisfied with the wireless service until Alltell made some type change that involved Verizon. So I was told that my number was not picked up(or purchased ??) by Verison; and I would have to continue with Alltel under a new 2 year contract with new phones for a dollar per phone, or I could go with Verizon for about four hundred dollars after all charges were in for phones & activation fees, etc.
I thought it was a no brainer 2 dollars verses 4 hundred dollars!!!! I was reasured by the Alltel sales folks that my new phones would solve the problems that I was having since Verizon became part of the equation. Some problems were resolved with the new phones, but the constant drop call never ended. Alltel used to give credit for all dropped calls because they were just so good that there were very few dropped calls prior to their dealing with Verizon. I continuously get dropped. I can start a call with 3 bars showing and right in the middle of a conversation,be dropped with a message saying "Leaving Service Area" when I had not moved out of my chair. I could understand it if I was moble at the time, but the most movement would be switching the phone from one ear to the other. I too will be switching to another wireless service when my current contract is up at the end of August, but after reading one of the negative comments that said that Allel will not let Alltel customers to call me if I transfer my current phone number to my new carrier. Are there others that have had that proplem?

Alltel is AWFUL!! It sucks, I cannot stand the dropped calls, the never or forever sending messages!! One message sent once takes ten minutes to be received and its received more than 10 times. Alltels service is THE WORST out there!

I have been a Alltel customer for more than 10 years. Their service is really bad. I have droped call all of the time and the service for the smart phone is slow if it works at all. They have stopped sending bills for the second time and I can not get on my account in their web site again. Can not wait till I can dump them.

I have been a customer of altell's for about
10 yrs. Always had a contract service with
them . When my cell phone quit working tried there prepaid acct for my cell phone and opened a new phone service.This was a total night mare. I went into the store 11-22-11.
They were having troubles with there debit
card charging, in the process charged up my account with over 300.00 extra dollars and have not paid it back yet today is 1-12-12.
There policy is not to refund prepaid accounts. A policy that only benefits them.
I would have quit them but Verizon does not get service where I live . My phone service has been ok but I would pay cash and get a receipt any other transactions I have with them. I have yet to be refunded .

on my last three monthly statements there have been additional charges added for airtime & Dir. Assist. charges. I have never used dir assistance while being a customer of Alltel or Alltel's previous owner .

I find it very disturbing that these charges are added and I had to call each time to get the account adjustment. On January 3rd, 2012, yesterday, I called when I received my account statement and found again, $45.50 charges for Dir. Assisit had been charged to my account again. My account number is 10000007701551629. I was told by the customer service person that an investigation would be made and I would be notified of the findings.

I have never been late in my payments to Alltel or the previous owner since being a customer. However, I do not appreciate additional charges added to my account, since I do not use dir. assistance. I don't even know how to use that service.

I am requesting that my account statement which is due january 14,2012, be adjusted for the $45.50 plus the taxesthat has been
added to by account either in error or
some other reason other than by me using the dir. assistance.
I will be checking with other wireless
companys that service my area for their plans. I do not want to leave Alltel, but with your billing practices have so many errors, I will have no other choice.

I CANNOT wait for my contract with this company to finally expire...it was the worst choice I ever made for cell phone service. Calls are constantly dropped in my home area, as well as when I'm on the road, and the billing is usually messed up also.

Have been an alltel cust. for years,recently I switched from alltel prepaid phone,to Straight Talk,after awhile i noticed that i can not receive calls from any Alltel customer..When an alltel cus. tries to call me,they are told,the no. your trying to dial is not a working number,after repeated attempts to call and retail store visits.all i get in response,is rude people,So beware on trying to transfer your phone no.For alltel will no longer recognize your phone no. About time for all of us to go back to a CB radio or telegraph system..I,ll give in and just change my number and when my internet contract expires i am done with ALLTEL !!!

My daughter-in-law and son have been reassigned by the Navy to an area that Alltel does not provide coverage in. Not only are they not allowing them out of their remaining 4 months of contract without charging them over $200. They will be charging them Roaming and Long Distance fees if they keep the phone. As an over a decade Alltel customer who has just been moved to Verizon and had our own set of issues, we will all be changing providers when our contract expire.

alltel used to be a great company but for the last 4 months I have had the worst service ever, If you are looking for a cell phone company go to some other phone service, I would drop them faster then a silver bullet if I could find a company that had a cell tower close to my metal building, I get one bar when the doors are closed, no other cell service will work, For two months I could only talk in an alltel area, they got that fixed in two months, they blamed verizon. then they would cut my service off even tho my bill was paid up. If you want heart problems get alltel.

I have been trying to reach Alltel. I live in Michigan where Alltel sold out to Verizon. If you think that Alltel is bad, just deal with Verizon. I got a $2000.00 bill for roaming because I had a old Alltel plan. Verizon told me several "reasons" that I was being charged this and the most ridiculous is that I was being charged roaming fees as long as the phones were on whether or not they were being used. Then apparently every call that was made, I was paying long distance fees on top of that. Now the way I remember it, I had nationwide coverage, free long distance and free nights and weekends after 7:00 pm. But now Verizon is telling me that my nationwide coverage was only 85% whereas Verizon's is 100%. I thought nationwide meant nationwide but not according to Verizon. What is this world coming to?

I am currently in a dispute with Alltell over $50.00. I went into the local Alltel Store on 9/1/11 and paid $50.00 deductible for a phone that was stolen. The amount appeared on my phone bill later. I called Alltel. They apologized for the mistake and gave me a dispute id#. I paid my phone bill earlier this month, but my phone(s) were disconnected this am. I called Alltel and and they said that I was given incorrect information by their rep and that I would have to pay the $50.00 to get my service restored. The amount is not the problem, but the fact that they made a mistake and want to hold me accountable. I have been with Alltel for years and have a family plan with them for $300.00+/month and my contract doesn't end until 2012. Thinking seriously about changing providers.

Alltel billed me for months, I called customer service and billing for months wanting to know why I was being billed for a cell I never had. (I use T-Mobile) With only getting a run around when I would ask them to send me a copy of a contract I signed, they sent my name to a collection agenancy. The collection agenancy says I have to work with Alltel to correct this debt of $654.00 that is not even mine. I've called over 50 times and only get very rude people!! They say I will pay this bill or be sued, however reuse to send a copy of the contract I was suppose to of signed. Stay away from this company if you can people!!!!!!!!!

Alltel has seemingly farmed out their less "profitable" areas to small regionals. The change was immediate and horrendous. The customer service went from being good to fair to non-existent overnight. Alltel basically wants uneducated people who don't use the wireless service at all if ever. Once they single out a high usage user, they do everything they can to get them to break their contract and go elsewhere. Alltel honors the bad way of life where country dwelling business people with no other access to HSI live...basically cull out and destroy anyone who you don't approve of. Kill their business and get them off the aircard books so you can sub someone who pays the same but never uses bandwidth. The people in the Upstate South Carolina are the absolute dregs of the cesspool of wireless providers. When they couldn't legally drop me, they slowed the data rates. When that didn't work, they stopped sending a bill hoping I would forget and not pay on time. When that failed to work, they blocked access to their site so I couldn't retrieve an invoice. They won't send me a bill or tell me what I owe. ...the absolute scum of the planet.

I have been with Alltel for about 7 years. I have bragged about the service. What happened? Since the disconnect from Verizon, they are not able to service my area and yet no one can help me. They still charge me for smart phone service and still hold me hostage to one of the 4 phones I have without being able to use the internet service. Is it my fault that verizon will not allow them to use their towers??? NO! I wish there was someone at Alltel who really cared!

And Alltel clearly has no problem with BREAKING THE LAW.
I do not even have an account with you or Verizon. And yet, Alltel feels they need to call my home line and try to solicite my business. All of my numbers are not listed and are all registered both federally and with Oregon as DO NOT CALL numbers.
When you call customer service, you cannot get a real person... you just get shunted by message to Verizon. And the "Business" number on the website never answers.
Clearly a bad, bad, bad, company. I will report this to the proper law enforcement agency.
