It is impossible to contact Acer when out of warranty. Perhaps I need to contact a hacker in China to get through! All I want is to find out what battery I need for replacement in my 2 year old Acer Chromebook. I've been all over the Acer site and cannot get any information. But never mind, I'll just get a new notebook and it WILL NOT BE ACER!!! Shame on you! You're not so important that you can't be contacted out of warranty for a simple question,

So, I bought a Acer laptop (it was V3-571G) in the summer of 2013. Well, let's just say, around the November, my computer started to get BSODs. I got angry and I did not use it until December. After I started using it again, the computer's laptop screen cracked and the HDD crashed. Then the screen went white, I can't use the computer at all. I sent it to the customer service where I bought it from (not that crappy Acer's customer service) and it took 6 months to repair it. When I came back to get the computer (I had to hurry because I was on vacation) and I turned it on. BSOD showed up. I waited until I came to my vacation place. I started the laptop up and I resetted it to factory settings. The laptop worked once again until January 2015. One of the hinges broke and I was angry. Well, on February 24, my computer ended up getting a blue screen that said I needed to restore my computer once again. I refused to use my Acer laptop again.

I wish if I did homework on Acer before I bought it.

I recently bought an Acer Aspire E3. On the week of purchase, the screen backlight had issues so I sent it in for repairs. The backlight only turned on with the highest brightness setting and would flicker and on lower brightness settings. I thought it would be fixed when it came back...They only updated the bios and rebooted Windows, I made it clear in my report that it was not a software problem too... So I sent it in for rerepair. The screen works fine, but they also tampered with the touchpad which had no problem. I dont know a lot about repairs and it may have been necessary, but now my mouse is jumpy, and its not a software issue either... I messed with sensitivity and its either always jumpy or it doesn't respond and just freezes on screen. I have to turn it off then back on to get it working again.

Worst repair service ever. Never shopping acer again.

I am facing problem of frequent disconnection of WIFI in my Acer Aspire E15 E5-571-35NA with preinstalled windows 8.1 since the first day of purchase. My first complaint for the same was on 27th Jan 2015, there was a visit by technician n he did his stuff but the problem was not solved. Then I made my second complaint on 3rd feb-the was not solved. Then I made my third complain on 20th feb - this time i lost my all data n problem was not solved. Then I made my fourth complaint on 3rd April - then again i lost my data the problem was not solved. Then I made my 5th complaint on 19th April they took my laptop to service center for 4-5 days then said now its fine but i faced the problem again. I changed my router n all but the problem was not fixed.

Then my 6th complaint was on 3rd of May and today is 24th may and there is no reply from you.

Your customer service is really very poor i will never buy any acer product again nor i will recommend anyone to buy. I wasted my bucks for this piece of s#!t which not capable of surfing net smoothly.

Acer has to be the most unscrupulous and customer gauging company I have ever dealt with. I purchased my Acer Aspire U5-620 on February 14th, 2015. Less than 2 months later the touch screen stopped working. First I went to the Acer website to see if I needed to update a driver or something - nothing. I finally had to call Acer support organization and after having to call back at least 4 times the only thing Acer support can say is to "Restore" or Refresh" your computer and loose all your installed programs. When that doesn't work I'm told I have to send in my computer to get a driver updated. Really this is Acers'response => send us your computer so we can update a driver - come on.

Then I'm told I have to pack the computer as per their 4 pages of instructions. Seriously - all the other computer companies I have dealt with send you the box to ship it in so they can be assured it will arrive safely. In other words they take responsibility for their products and actually want their customers to be satisfied and happy with their products. Why doesn't Acer do that ? Well I know why now. So Acer can blame your customers for damage they didn't do and charge them for repairs. I was told I didn't pack it properly and there is an "internal" crack in the LCD. I packed that computer exceeding Acer instructions using bubble wrap and Styrofoam but it's still my fault.
I had to pay $400.00 to repair a computer that I have had for less than 90 days because the internal driver cracked due to my not packing properly. This is just an Acer scam '“ sell poor quality products and make the consumer pay for any repairs regardless of whether you have owned the computer for 1 day or 1 year. Acer does not stand behind their product quality. Buyer Beware '“ if you have any problems with your Acer product (I guarantee you will); Acer will find a way to falsely claim customer induced damage' and you will have to pay for any repairs.

I bought an Acer Aspire E11 for my daughter. When we were sold the laptop the promise was that they would pick up the product if we had a problem.
Since we bought the Laptop my daughter had hardly used it since it is is either very slow or does not boot.
We were finally forced to take it to the service centre who called us back promptly after 2 days and informed us that the problem was solved. We brought it back home and have the same problem with the computer. We would like to return thsi computer , pay a little more and buy a better version of this computer if Acer is ready to take on the challenge.

Tried to find the cost of replacing a touch screen on a laptop.

acer aspire e15 the worse laptop I have ever owned. I have not been able to download any photo editors of choice, I am told I do not need them. it is absolutely driving me mad. will no technical help from them or from pc world where I bought it.

Contacted Acer support for my new computer. Mutul came on and wanted me to purchase additional support for $199.00 1 year or 299.00 for 2 years. Brand new computer not working properly so I declined and he was persistent to sell me additional support. So now the computer is in worst shape than before because you let him control the computer he must have did something to the computer because I didnʻt want to buy. He sounded like a middle eastern character. Very scary thought to see a U.S product controlled by foreigners. I will never ever buy this product ever again! Thank god I bought it from Walmart Iʻll just return it BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

I am a BIG fan of Acer, but maybe not anymore? I changed from XP to Win 7 and in doing so I lost ePower Mamagement. I went to download it and while doing this and following the steps to do so I was downloading also Reimage Repair,weather app,Super Optimizer v3.2, Greek Buddy, 360 Total Security,Super Optimizer, and Pro PC Cleaner. I never was able to get ePower and to remove all these programs it took a few hours to do so because of all the TRICKS it took to keep the programs installed on my computer. I sell computers but if I recommend now your computer and see my customers going on to have this happen to him I loose him because of my recommendation. If you can write back to me and tell me you will remove this from your Downloads I will promote your computers again. Write back to me:

P.S. It was very hard to remove Reimage Repair, I got a Virus, it make my computer run slow after removal, all my setting were changer, it was very hard to remove them.

Two items were purchased online Tuesday March 3, 2015: 1 Acer Aspire R7-572-6637 Notebook and 1 Converter Mini-CP to VGA/USB/LAN

The purchased items arrived at my home Thursday March 5, 2015. The computer was not working properly. I contacted customer service that evening. They were unable to resolve the issue. They suggested I contact Customer support during business hours the next day.





Date and details of when I returned the merchandise or cancelled services:







I contacted customer support Friday March 6th and spoke with a sales agent named Peter. He told me he would email me and send me instructions on how to return the defective computer. Peter did not send the promised email.

I contacted customer support again the morning of Monday March 9th and spoke with a sales agent named Steven. Steven could not find any record of my phone call with Peter, apologized and promised to send me an email with the instructions on how to return the computer. Steven did not send the promised email.

I contacted acer support in the afternoon of Monday March 9th and spoke with an agent named Anthony. Anthony could not find any record of my phone calls with Peter or Steven, apologized and promised to send me three emails with the instructions on how to return the computer and cable. He sent two emails only: one containing the FedEx shipping label and one detailing the start of the return application. This email stated that my money would be refunded in 3-7 business days upon receipt of the returned product.

The computer and Converter Mini-CP to VGA/USB/LAN were sent back to Acer using the original packaging which they shipped the product, and the FedEx shipping label provided by Anthony. A copy of the Return Reference Number email was included in the box. The package arrived Thursday March 12, 2015 at 10:52, and was signed by Adelafonte.




Dates and details of my attempts to resolve the issue with the merchant:



As outlined above, I have been in contact with various representatives from Acer via telephone on the following dates: Friday March 6, 2015 (one call); Monday March 9, 2015 (two calls)

Friday March 13, I received a phone call from Acer in Texas. The phone call was 7 minutes and 32 seconds in duration. I did not get the name of the person who contacted me. She told me she had the computer and Converter Mini-CP to VGA/USB/LAN in her possession but did not know why I had sent them back to Acer. I explained that I had returned them for a full refund as per the information on the printed copy of the email which I had included in the box. She did not have a copy of this. She agreed that Acer would accept both items (computer and cable) and would honour a full refund for the purchase. She then sent an email initiating the return process at 10:04 a.m., while we were speaking on the phone. This concerned me since I had already returned the computer and cable. She explained that the same email sent Monday March 9th could not be used since she did not have any record of it. I was concerned that the one she sent me only referenced the Converter Mini-CP to VGA/USB/LAN cable and not the computer. She assured me this was not a problem. She explained I would receive 3 emails from Acer and this was just the first of the 3 emails. I did receive a second email later in the day at 1:05 p.m. This email stated my money will be refunded in 3-7 business days upon receipt of the returned product. (Please note, Acer was already in possession of the returned items when this email was sent to me.) This email also only made reference to the Converter Mini-CP to VGA/USB/LAN. I never did receive the third email.

Friday March 27th: I called my credit card company to see if I had been reimbursed yet for the purchase. They said I had not but that Acer was allowed to take 15 calendar days to return the money. The 28th would mark day 15 so I should call back on the 28th. I did call back on the 28th and my credit card company stated the money still was not in so if I wished I could start a Financial Dispute and they will help me to recoup the money. The process can take anywhere from 15 - 120 days. They encouraged me to try to resolve this directly with Acer since this usually would be the faster route.

Saturday March 28th: Faxed a letter to the Acer America Corporation (Canada)

Saturday March 28th: Facebook messaged the same letter to Acer using the messenger ap

Saturday March 28th: Mailed the same letter to Acer America Corporation (Canada) (Figured if they get it three different ways, one might actually land in one someone's desk.)

In my letters I have firmly requested that Acer call me Monday March 30th. As well, I included copies of all correspondence I have had including receipts, packing slips, emails, and the FedEx tracking sheet confirming Acer is in receipt of my returned purchase.

Dear Madam/Sir:
I purchased an Acer Aspire 5600U computer. The combo computer/screen is propped loosely on a kick-stand type leg. As a result the computer flipped forward causing the screen to fracture.
The computer is usable but damaged. The mouse has random periods of running uncontrollably and there are random pop ups.
I decided to write to you as other Acer Aspire 5600U owners I corresponded with have the same concern over the reliability of the kickstand leg support. Apples PC design is considerably more sturdy. I don't have insurance so I guess I'm stuck with my lemon.

Have you ever been burned by ACER when you bought their lousy products? If you have had to deal with their customer service and found it basically nonexistent? Well hereâ??s a heads up, especially if you live in the USA. But even if you donâ??t live in the USA ,but have SKYPE, Messenger or other ways to call around the world with your computer, Call Jennifer at ACER USA customer service at 254.298.4402 and complain to her personally. She probably wonâ??t answer, so leave a message but at least you will be getting your message across.



If that doesnâ??t work you can always FAX her at 254.298.4260 and leave her a nice pile of complaints to read thru. And if you want to complain in person and kick some ACER butt, their address


Another good avenue to complain is with the Federal Trade Commission in the USA. This is a government agency and with enough complaints, the FTC will come down on them and have the power to shut ACER down and/or possibly get you a refund. Itâ??s an easy, quick, fast complaint form to fill out online at www.FTC.gov.



Another one I would highly recommend is the Better Business Bureau in Temple Texas as they will attempt to get a resolution or refund for you. You can file with them online at


Then at you can add you complaint to the other 878 ACER complaints there. When you file a complaint there, all the other 878 complainers will see your complaints as well.



Then add your complaint to Customerservicescoreboard.com where out of 582 reviews, 538 are complaints. And there are other websites like CT watchdog, my 3 cents and notgoodenough.com,



For USA electronic websites, there is Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Samâ??s Club, Radio Shack, Office Depot, Frys Electronics for starters. Just look for their website and Face Book pages and post there.



Run an Internet search for â??ACER Complaintsâ?? and the list is endless and other websites to complain at. I have personally been complaining about ACER worldwide since 2012 to electronic vendor websites directly, ACER and vendor Face Book pages and have posted and messaged tens of thousands of their customers about their lousy products.



As a result, their sales from 2012 to 2014, their sales have dropped $89 MILLION dollars in sales, so the word is getting out about their lousy products. Join me and letâ??s drop them another $89 million this year.

ACER products are your problemâ?¦..But you can call Jennifer at USA corporate headquarters at and complain.



If you are selling any ACER products, you are creating problems for yourself while supporting a company with lousy products, lousy customer service, lack of warranty, etc. Here is the problem you are creating for yourself? You can go to any ACER Facebook pages around the world and ever one is littered with customer complaints. Or you can run your own net search for ACER complaints and the list is endless or simply click on any of these links and see for yourself.



Here is what happens when ACER refuses to honor their warranty and their favorite trick is to have you send in your product at your expense for â??evaluationâ?? which comes back as CID (Customer Induced Damage) as you are the only one that has used the product. That is if you can even get customer service to respond and as a vendor, you never need to deal with ACER customer service. Virtually non-existent.



So as a consumer and since ACER will not repair or replace their product, what is your only other solution? To return the product to the store where it was purchased and ask for a full refund. And most vendors try to keep a good reputation, will do that. This way, ACERâ??S problem becomes yours while you are making them a profit.



We all made the same mistake of reading ACER reviews instead of ACER complaints. Reviews are usually always good, the pros and the cons of the product and donâ??t reflect true complaints. Now I ONLY look for complaints before I buy anything and let their product speak for its self.



While ACER has done the best to slow us down on Facebook, it certainly hasnâ??t stopped us, nor will they. And we definitely got excellent worldwide coverage. I just set up a new email address and FB page, got an IP hider for tracking and I can always use my roommates computer or tablet as well as an internet cafe. All their efforts are a mere bump in the road. But we have kicked it up another notch over which they have zero control. Going directly to their vendors website with our complaints and me covering the USA, includes Target, Best Buy, Fryâ??s Electronics, Radio Shack, Sears, Staples, Office Max/Depot, Samâ??s Club and more.



Mi amigos are covering the Malaysia and Pakistan area and we have picked up me more pissed off consumers but basically have heard back from ACER in the Philippines, Africa, EU, UK, Thailand, USA and Mexico. Jennifer from corporate customer service USA and â??reached outâ?? to me but has very short arms cause she simply pulled and ACER and did nothing.



Since ACER pissed me off in 2012, I have been trashing them around the world for 2 ½ years and their sales are down $89 million. Letâ??s see? At 2 ½ years, that is about 912 days divided into $89 million is $97,587 A DAY in lost sales!!! That is some serious change. And we have about 330 more days to go this year or another $33,000,000 at this current rateâ?¦â?¦LOL

I am never buying anything Acer related ever again, for one big reason:

Their customer service is terrible.

First of all, even when my computer was under warranty and I could actually reach someone, they were terrible. They lacked the most basic computing knowledge - their solution for a bad internet connection while gaming was to update my flash player.

And second, once your product is OUT of warranty, you can't reach them at all, for any reason. There's no way to email, chat, or call them. All I wanted was to ask about recovery media so I could swap out my hard drive: I gave up after fruitlessly scouring their website for 45 minutes.

Don't buy Acer. Buy a brand that actually cares about their customers (or at least pretends to).

worst service provided not impressed and happy at all. dont want to give any ratings a big 0. called customer service and told them to give me call in 10 min wud need support and waited for 1.5 hrs sitting in cafe waiting for one call. called again told lady to give me call again no respose. called 3 time and person said will get back to me in 15 min already 20 min passed. what an outstanding service you are providing.dont have a whole day for waiting for a call. not happy with the laptop issues. will never recoomend any one to buy acer laptops.

Have to join here. I have spent a lot of money and time learning that Acer has gone downhill from just some six years ago.

Most recently I got another 11.6" Acer notebook, and it will be my last Acer computer of any kind.

Before I have had Acer 10", 11.6", and 15.6" notebooks from Acer, as well as their Android tablets.

My latest model, the ES1-111M-C9VZ is a Windows 8.1 machine with 32GB SSD.

First of all, barely 7GB is usable, so you can't really do anything on this. I also own two chromebooks from Samsung and both came with more than double the SSD space out of the box for files.

Next up, the keyboard is absolute trash. And the trackpad.... it simply does not work. I won't bother sending the unit in, because there is no point to Acer anything.

In fact if your Acer has issues, SELL IT, give it away, or burn it and post the video on YouTube. Forget dealing with them. They are real idiots.

The other thing, is the compared to the 12" notebooks we had from Acer before, this new one doesn't have a fan. That's epic. BUT, when we opened our brand new unit, there were some sort of white sand at the bottom bezzel of the LCD screen jammed in between the plastic and the screen.

Using a razor sharp cutter blade we were able to fish this crap out, which was GLUED on top of it to the plastic. If you see this on your units, on any Acer laptop, do not attempt to clean it or remove yourself, just return it and BUY another brand (good luck though, many of them are crap these days).

So yea, six years ago, Acer built computers that were worth something, in the last 4-5 years though I have seen absolutely garbage, and our latest notebook will be our last from Acer.

This is my first time to buy an Acer laptop and make a complaint with this company. After using a few days, a key from my Acer laptop keyboard was suddenly pop out. Since I got the warranty, I was sending my Acer laptop for a repair and it took me more than 2 weeks. After they inform me that the repair was done, i am going to take back my Acer laptop. I realize that the problem was haven't solve yet and even getting more worst. Beside that, the attitude of the staff was not good at all. This is the way you serve your customer?

I was told by Best Buy where I bought my Acer computer and that for 1 year it was covered under warranty... When i spoke to Acer they told me the repair charge was almost as much as the compeer was worth??? Who is telling the wrong story and why... H

My Acer hard drive died (my fault). So I bought a new one and contacted support to provide me a copy of my operating system or a key for it. I thought if I bought laptop I bought a copy of OS too, but I was wrong! I have been told I have to buy another copy of Windows, which means half of the laptop's price (HD+Windows), and there isn't another way to help me, but give me a link to purchase Windows.

Acer has terrible customer support. We bought an Acer Laptop and had problems with it. Sent in for repairs, came back with same issues. Sent in again, came back with same issues. Cannot get them to refund my purchase or otherwise resolve my issues. They treat me like I am computer illiterate. I am not an expert, but I know when a computer stinks. I would not recommend anyone to buy an Acer.

Absolutely the worst company I have had to deal with in terms of customer service. I am very tolerant. I am 52 and this is my first ever complaint with a company...
I was given an Acer computer as a gift. I was never able to connect on Internet with it. I first thought it was an Internet issue so I took it up with my provider.
I then called Acer and spent over 2 hours on the telephone...going from Level 1 to Level 2...retelling my story, got cut off twice. They arent set up to call back. Level 1 only does this. Level 2 only does that. Same sentences repeated with alot of appologies and sorry's.
End up sending computer back. Had to fight for them to pick it up and get a lable. I live in a rural area and not easy to get to a fed Ex office. Also had to take day off work (unpaid) to wait for Fed Ex that never came when they said they would.
Got computer back 1 week later and again same issue. They told me to go somewhere else to see if its working there. Again on the phone 2 hours plus going from Level1 to Level 2..getting cut off. Re calling repeating, hearing sorry , appologies...going through same steps. Told to send back computer again. Refusal to be open to any body coming here...Had top fight again to get a pick up.
Never did the techs go out of their way to be kind or offer anything to really help.
So now its 6 weeks later and am sending computer back again. They won't pay for tech to come here..no nice offers. As if its all my fault. Really don;t recommend buying Acer if only for their super poor disrespectful service. Sad.

Acer is parent company of Gateway and eMachines and handled the fulfillment of the eMachines class action settlement. I received 2 vouchers as an owner of eMachines products, using 1 for an Acer W-3 tablet, the other for a Gateway laptop. The prices of both appeared to be inflated to just enough to match the voucher value. The tablet battery failed after 14 months of low level use, meaning the unit will work plugged in only. After reaching out vis Twitter and Facebook Acer offerred to "reduce" the repair price from $130 to $50; ridiculous since they should just replace it.
Unfortunate that to satisfy a legal settlement Acer supplied a poor quality product at an inflated price. The laptop is working albeit at very slow speed.

Had very bad experience from ACER.. They Cheated 15 students with low quality laptops who were staying away from their homes and the institution had taken quotations and purchased the laptops for them. Finally, after many repeated issues I approached consumer dispute redressal forum and got favourable order from against them, still they dragged the case for years without repairing it to the full and trying to push it back giving many excuses!!! Shame on these people
