I'm sad to say that my first experience with Volvo Roadside Assistance was not a positive one. I called at 10:00 AM to report a flat tire. The agent assured me a tow truck would be there in one hour. I called back 2 more times (and spoke to 2 more agents) to get some answers to a few questions I had (Would I be able to get a loaner car from the dealership? etc.) and to confirm the car's address and cross streets.

One hour later, the truck driver called to tell me he was here. He said he wasn't allowed to drive onto a military base. Funny thing is that I don't live on a military base. I live in a high rise apartment building in Washington, DC! Ultimately the driver said he wasn't willing to come to my real address and hung up on me.

After sharing this issue with not 1, not 2, but 3 additional agents, I was reassured a truck was coming. They actually send a text message confirmation. I waited 1 hour until I called again to speak to my 7th agent. At this point, I was growing pretty frustrated but maintaining my composure. I spoke with an agent who was finally helpful and feeling sorry for my situation. Her name was Shelli and unfortunately I didn't get her last name. Shelli noted that my address was still incorrect in the system and she essentially fixed it. The tow truck still hasn't arrived, but it will be arriving in the next hour, just 6 short

How could that be possible after speaking to 6 other different agents over the course of 6 hours? And when I specifically asked to confirm my address? As someone who works in the customer service industry myself, I have been absolutely appalled by this "service." My small piece of advice, given that I have been waiting for a tow truck for 6 hours, just call AAA.

purchased a new 2015 XC 60 in January of 2015, my first Volvo purchase in 30 years. The 1985 brand new DL 240 was a disaster from the moment we bought it, from the omission of installing the A/C at the factory to the multiple issues with emissions, brakes, door locks, windshields and the worst of all, the ongoing fuel injector problem. Ignored while under warranty and more than happy to address once I hit 36K miles. Sold it with 37K. Vowed I wouldn't get another but we did. We have had to have the door locking mechanism replaced, the headlight motor system replaced and the fuel pump replaced in the first 6 months of use. Both the dealer and Volvo are unwilling to extend my warranty at either no cost or a nominal charge, as you would expect they would do, based on this history of awful performance. Actually, based on my experience with the 1985 car, bought expensive insurance with the dealer in the form to a 40K and 50K maintenance visit. Ridiculous. Volvo, start addressing these issues. your customer service, should be called customer non service based on the lack of satisfaction you provide the buyers of your upscale vehicles.

V40 - Terrible car. Faulty from new, now over a year old. Volvo can't fix it and no one at Volvo cares. There only seems to be one women at Volvo Customer Relations, who is both obnoxious and incompetant.

Volvo Truck Customer Service Is A Joke !!! They Never Return Your Calls.. The Person That Answers The Phone Can Not Help At All They Just Tell You Some One Will Call You Back And They Nevr Do. You Would Think After Spending 100,00.00+ On A Truck They Made You Could Get A Little Help When There Dealers Are Cheating People On Repairs And Standing Behind The Work.

After writing an extensive negative review concerning repairs where Volvo has had my car from June 3 until July 23 and it still has not been repaired at union Park Volvo in Wilmington De - the service manager has come through for me today - and has resolved the situation. It has still been an extremely upsetting experience - but I am grateful the head of the service department has come through for me once the situation reached him. My only complaint is that i will still have to drive 8 hours to pick up my car, but there's not much more I can do about that. So I want to thank the General Manager at Union Park for his patience and listening to me and coming up with a solution. Thank You, Dave at Union Park in WIlmington.

This is has been the worst service I have ever, ever experienced - actually there is no word to express how horrible this service has been; my 2011 Volvo was damaged in a flash flood on June 2. The Union Park Volvo service center in Wilmington DE has now had my vehicle since June 3 - and it is now July 23!!! - over 2 and 1/2 months. On June 3, both the insurance adjuster and my service rep informed me the wet carpets were being pulled out and the oil flushed out. The adjuster asked them to call if any additional damage was found after pulling the carpets. The service rep told me it would take about a week and a half for them to dry. Finally, on June 15th hearing nothing, I called for an update only to find NOTHING the service center said they were going to do on June 3 had been done. My car had been sitting out with wet carpets in the hot sun for two weeks. They said they had forgotten about it. At that time when I called to remind them they removed the carpets and found additional damage in the engine and trunk - and they told me that they were going to take apart the engine and flush out the oil again since it still looked white. Skip to July 21 and they had not done any of this work either. My service rep actually said that he forgot about my car everyday. I told him that was probably not the smartest thing to admit to me. They blamed it on a lack of mechanics and the insurance company even though the insurance company had told them to call if additional damage was found - Volvo never called after finding the damage. . Two weeks ago I told them I was going to have to travel to VA for a month - I still don't know when they will begin working on the engine. they have now offered a rental car - and told me I had to return the loaner car. It is now July 23 - I still do not have my car repaired. On June 22, the service rep said I would be able to keep the loaner however today I was informed I can't. They also said that I would have to make the 8 hour drive when the car was repaired (if it ever is). Why should I have to make an 8 hour drive when they have done nothing but lie to me three times that certain work was being done on my car when none of it was? If the car had been repaired on time, I would drive 15 minutes to pick it up - now it is 8 hours to pick it up. I don't even know if they will allow me to keep the rental for the month or only to drive it down to VA. I am now trying to obtain that information. The bottom line is I have never in my life received such horrible service on any vehicle I have owned in the past 25 years. I plan to take this as far as possible - it has already cost me $320 in rental car expenses when they should have had the carpets out drying and looking for additional damage - but they weren't - I/m sure many vehicles have gone in and been repaired while mine is still sitting there since June 3. I'm outraged and very stressed to have to be dealing with this still when I am scheduled to move for over month and expected to drive 8 hours to get my vehicle. I have been nothing but lied to - and they even admitted forgetting my car everyday! I am extremely disappointed and incredibly angry - because of Volvo's reputation and previous service, I am shocked about this situation. I love my car, but after this fiasco, and the fact that I have always been the one to contact them concerning updates to find out nothing had been done, and the fact that I've been directly lied to - I can't seriously ever purchasing another another Volvo. And I find all this out the day before my move. I believe I should be allowed to keep the rental car until my car is fixed at their expense; I believe I should be reimbursed for the $320 extra it cost me to rent a car when they had did nothing in two weeks since it was dropped of to begin repairs; I believe I should have the right to retain the rental car for the entire length of my stay in VA (I cannot operate without a vehicle for over a month, and I believe they should at least meet me half way to return my vehicle to me ( and I think this is more than fair) I would only have to drive 4 hours instead of 8! If my car the work was actually performed when they said it was being done, I would only have to drive 15 minutes to pick it up.

I am in the process of upgrading my GPS. The setup is insane . You are trying to save the battery, but I have been running the car for over 4 hours. I've used one half of a tank of gas to go nowhere!!! There has to be a better way to do this.

In my Acura I inserted one disc in a slot in the trunk. That was it.

For my area Volvo just discontinued providing customer service. No service period. I have to drive 100 miles one way (200 both ways) to get service that was warrantied by lease agreement The key fob in not working now and need repair and I have to spend half a day on it. This is incredible.
Feel free contacting me if you want more details. But Volvo is not a credible company any more.

Snows in Basingstoke is the most awful place to take your car. I have been subjected to the most unprofessional experience ever. On the Friday 24th April my XC90 V8 suddenly came up with a warning of power system needs urgent service. We pulled over and called snows Basingstoke for advice. Advice was it could of been a technical glitch as we hadn't lost any power or control and were given volvo assist number should the car have any further problem during the weekend. So we continued and kept the number to hand. Sunday whilst in the fast lane of the M3 I had complete power and control loss of the car. The car then took us left and secured me in my seat so close to the steering wheel I couldn't easily get out of the car. The car was recovered and delivered to snows in Basingstoke on the Monday. After 2 hours after we had a text to say our car had arrived we called Snows to see what was going on. 5 Days of constant changing of stories being shouted at and blame of the break down put on myself as I should of known the car would cut out all of a sudden so shouldn't of driven it and that my own husband was lying about what they had told him. 5 days of constant chasing by myself and head office and the worst was yet to come. I had made both Snows and head office aware I had a disability (Fibro) and my two younger boys were disabled one being ill with mobility problems and had a hospital appointment on the Monday and my husband was going away on the Wednesday morning. They demanded I returned the hire car to the hire firm by 5pm on the Friday but said my car SHOULD be ready. I requested a call by 4:30pm to confirm my car would be at the very busy trading estate for when I got there as I didn't want to get stranded with my two sons and also to know how much it was going to cost and pay the bill over the phone prior to setting off. No one called. I left in the hope my car would be there. I handed the hire car back and asked if my car had been left for me or had snows called but they hadn't so I waited and waited. I then start looking for my car as there were hundreds at the hire place but couldn't find it and so I walk down the side street as I could see a big truck and a car behind it and there it was hidden between a big truck and a car with two guys in it. I try to open my car but its locked so I wait by it but find the two guys watching me uncomfortable so I go back to reception of the car hire place to get them to double check they don't have my keys which they search again and said sorry no. One of the kind ladies there came back out to the car with us to see if I was missing something but she couldn't get in the car as it was locked and the two guys just watched us. At this time I have no idea whats going on as my car was there and had been for almost 15 minutes but there was no sign of anyone from snows and no one had called me to tell me whats going on. I try to call head office but they are now shut for the lovely bank holiday. I then call snows to ask for the manager but he has gone. They then tell me who I am and I just twigg they are playing a silly dangerous game with my childrens saftey and wellbeing as at this point both of my boys are in tears as they are autistic and we are in a strange place where it is noisy and busy and lots of big men collecting their cars and my oldest is ill and all they want to do is get into their own car where it is familiar and safe and the noise is not so bad for them. Long story short they completely refused to send someone to bring me the keys and what then unfolded is that someone was onsite with my keys but they refused to unlock it so I could let my boys in but said I needed to have 'A little chat'. I gave them one last chance to open my car so I could put my boys in a safe place before I called the police to assist. I went back to my car again and waited but sadly had to call the police as no one came to unlock my car or make themselves known to me.Knowing that someone is watching me and my children walk back and forwards to the car yet not come and say a word was really creepy. It wasn't until I was talking to the police the two guys who had been watching got out of the car to approach me. I asked them to unlock the car twice but they refused. The police asked me to ask one more time to which then and only then did they allow me to put the boys in the car. I was ordered then to drive the car back to snows which I refused as enough was enough this was not a situation I wanted my boys in or myself.I had to wait a further 6 minutes for the two guys to pull back from my car before I could even pull my car away from the big truck to check it over before going home. I am at this point in tears and when I opened the boot of my car it looked as if I hand been burgled as all the usual tools and first aid kit were everywhere and the back half of my boot was removed and bunged in the boot.My youngest was so upset he said the 'nasty man had cut our car to pieces' I had to secure it all down and settle my sons and then myself before I drove off. This has upset me so much I cant bring myself to drive my own car. From previous experience over the 4 years since the change of ownership at the volvo dealerand since we have owned this car which I will point out is fully paid for no finance and not a lease car we have had issues with the way the handsfree mobile phone system stops the reverse park sensors from working this has been a fault since purchasing the car from snows in Basingstoke but still not fixed by them and they want us to pay to rectify it. Also I have had from various times they have had my car in for work the back floor matt go missing and part of the tow hook which is now completely unusable and we have to replace the whole thing also an aux cable to link my iphone to the car. All reported to them on receiving the car back but nothing done to replace them. I have taken time to research online about snows in Basingstoke and I am not alone with my complaints about the way we are treated and spoken to as customers and also the way our cars are returned damaged and dirty.

Experience great customer service on my initial visit for collision repairs. Had to bring my vehicle back to Rickenbauch (Denver Volvo) for a faulty repair on my rear panel bumper. This was 3 weeks ago and as of to date have not received a follow-up call on the replacement part. Honestly, I believe that I was forgotten. Poor and inexcusable "lack of customer service". My vehicle is a 2014 Crossover XC 60 R design. I love this vehicle and it's performance and expected more from a dealership selling high end vehicles. Total disappointment.

I currently own 2 Volvos. The nearest dealership to my home is approx 90 miles. We noticed yesterday that the car smells like gasoline even when it is not running. My son looked online and determined there was a recall on a fuel pump flange that cracks due to temperature extremes. I called customer care - so far a bad joke. My car of course was not covered by the recall but the issue was part of the extended warranty that ended last year. The rep sent me a copy of the warranty letter related to the problem - didn't get one of those during the time covered so sorry about my luck. Since this is a saftey issue - driving a car leaking gas 90 mile in heavy traffic to get to a dealer- the rep told me on the phone that I could take it to a local mechanic and send them the bill to review. When she emailed me there was no mention of the local mechanic. I have emailed them back and received no response.

Terrible - in one word. I have an XC60 that has not bee repaired from a factory fault in nearly two years. Volvo just simply don't care or are downright dumb.

Terrible customer service. Rude and not willing to help. They read from a sheet that tells them what they can and cannot say. I might as well speak to a machine....

I have owned many cars yet this is my first and last Volvo. It takes fifteen to twenty minutes for the car to get warm on a winter day which is unacceptable to me.I am told by Volvo that this is normal and that the car is operating fine.It was suggested by the salesman that I should purchase an automatic starter to help alleviate the problem.I am very dissatisfied with this vehicle and customer relations at Huntingtonville Volvo

Australian here.

I own an XC90 (50,000 kms). I bought it in late 2011. In late November 2014 it suffered what I consider a critical failure of the driver’s seat belt. It stopped working. Without warning it tightened up and would not release.

We took it our Volvo dealer to be fixed, whereupon WE were charged us over $750 to fix the failure of the seatbelt mechanism. More disturbingly there was no explanation as to how a seatbelt can stop working like this, why this happened, or certainty it would not happen again.

There was no apology that arguably the most important feature in the car failed. No courtesy car for the days it was off the road.

Just too bad- it was now out of warranty so it was no longer Volvo’s responsibility so we should pay up and take care of ourselves.

This week the salesman from the dealer called to ask if we will be buying a new car (I buy a new one every 3 years). Upon expressing our disgust at the situation he came back the following day with an offer to take the $750 off of the price of our next purchase.

Makes me wonder
Q. How important are seatbelts to Volvo?
Q. Should Volvo drivers anticipate that their seatbelts might fail like this did?
Q. If that exact same car was taken to a dealer in the USA or Europe, would Volvo’s response have been different?
Q. Is Volvo’s customer relations, and safety management, run by its sales reps?
Q. Does Volvo rely on sales hooks as its method to support its safety promise?

I've just sent customer relations a letter. I'll be keen to see how they respond..if they respond.

Very tempted to get a Jag this time around. Other than that it's been a good car

We own 2 Volvo's. 2004 XC 90 has had 3 faulty transmissions. Volvo won't provide assistance claiming that they have replaced priors (as they should) and that they haven't made enough money on us as we bought vehicles used and use private services rather than Volvo (for oil changes etc). Really? Guess having a good name means nothing today. We will dump both Volvo's and buy from a manufacturer that cares.

We bought a XC60 from new, it's had the same on going fault since the start. They have never managed to fix it and the car has been in the garage on many many occasions. I was told that as it was an ongoing fault that it would be kept under warranty. Now it's passed it's warranty and has the same fault, we now have to pay to get it fixed!!! It's unbelievable and never known such poor customer service.

I have a 2012 Volve S60. We cancelled AAA because we were told we have Volvo Roadside Assistance and how great it was. This morning it was so icy that I slid down the hill on my street and my car was turned completely sideways, blocking anyone from getting in or out of the neighborhood. Called Volve for the first time. After at least 10 different auto questions I finally started screaming "representative" into the phone I got to a human. She couldn't find my car in her data base- nothing under our last name (and we own 3 volvos!). She asked what kind of car and I said Volvo S60. She wasnt familiar with that model.!!! After all that she asked what happened and I told her. Here's the response " Oh, I'm sorry we don't get people unstuck"...what??? I explained my situation again and she once again said Volvo doesnt help here- but she could contact a towing service at my expense. There is no snow to shovel me out of- I just need a tow rope up. Unbelievable what has happened to Volvo in the recent years.....downhill! (no ice pun intended!)

Cost.$900,00 How can you help with ? 62,343 miles one owner one driver. On a fixed income. Avenue Garage, In. They were able to get Volvo parts and help me every thing was done to factory specifications

my 2013 Volvo had a tree limb dropped on it which crush the whole top.USAA is my insurance company and they would not total it because it was less than 50 percent damage. However the people who are repairing the car have not been able to get a part from Germany (the proper part) for almost 5 weeks! I'm very frustrated and angry that these people in Germany cannot get the right part to my car to be fixed. I want either the RIGHT part sent to my company IMMEDIATELY or I want a NEW car!

I have purchased two cars from Volvo Center in San Antonio. Over the last 6 months - service quality has greatly declined. It takes an exceptionally long time to get an appointment, phone calls are not returned. The service technician was so rude - that my husband decided to pay for service on his new SX90 vs. deal with the Volvo service department. Simply unacceptable. Need help getting my two cars into service - and having a quality job performend

2006 Ocean Race Logos

I need new "ocean race" logos on my 2006 - XC90 SUV. My local dealership quoted me a price of $188 each logo. This is a joke. Talk about nickel and diming customers. Why would Volvo not replace their falling logos for free. Don't they want their cars to look good, not runned down? If Volvo will not fix this at their cost I guess I will just have to re-glue them myself.

Where can I find 2 replacement logos and at what cost?

We bought a pre-owned 2008 Volvo S60 4 years ago. This car has been horrible! Service at the Darcars dealer in Rockville, Md is appalling. Car rides rough, engine lights come on, and other driving issues occur. Service department can never find the problem and says it doesn't do it when they have the car. Yesterday when I dropped off the car, they admitted how horrible the car was; however, got a call that evening saying they couldn't find the problem and how much were we willing to pay to LOOK for the problem! Worst car we ever owned!
