Long term loyal Canon customer. Just purchased $400 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier.
Purchased another Canon because I remembered the outstanding, courteous, customer service (cameras, printers, etc). This new printer had to replace a printer that worked for 12 years and the company tech employees were kind, friendly, always gave you time to explain issues.
With my new printer, $400 when I could/should have switched brands, I stuck with Canon based on those past positive experiences.
Tried to explain to the second tech what I needed help with-the feeder and printer. Explained the tech I asked to help me set it up, ditched me with printing from laptop and camera. A fraction of what the hardware is capable of.
The rep on this call, who was knowledgeable, but just wanted to zip through the call, when I, a non tech, used a different term she was condescending; explained I had no issues with speed but wanted to push this non-issue over to Verizon, I think because it printed fine and fastest.
Had an emergency today and needed to scan and email an important document. Rep. knew equipment but she didn't give me the courtesy of explaining my questions. I'm disabled and the laptop can't be near the printer based on how long I waited to register, she just had me rushing back and forth and if by accident I touch a button attempting to squeeze through back to the table we use in another room, she gave me attitude like I'd done it because I was having such fun with the tech.
I explained I wanted to know how to use the functions, when she heard my wife's voice she had the audacity to ask for her when I was clearly the one doing the work and who was familiar for a non-tech (the one doing the tech work in the house-I suspect she just wanted to dictate to a customer how didn't know what help she needed do she could drop the call).
When she gad a customer who had real questions, who was a loyal customer. I might as well have been a speed dump. She's rushing tech calls and I fear some people who might be intimated would give up and then spend hours on subsequent calls.
