In Sioux falls South Dakota, I was woken up to a subcontractor who was drilling into my foundation of my home. I had not received any communication about work being done, so I called Excel to confirm that he was associated with them. Excel energy could neither confirm, nor deny if this stranger was affiliated with them. How is this legal? If ever I have the option to use a provider besides Excel, I will be jumping at that opportunity. This is just my most recent complaint about this trashy company.

Last night I was so excited to attend the Janet Jackson concert. She is my all time favorite. I spent good money on tickets, parking and food along with drinks at the venue. Things were going really well. Until half way through the concert someone started vaping. The vaping sure enough had to be weed. I am one of the few who get really nauseated and serve headaches from the smell. They ban purses, guns, weapons but why not vapes too? You don't need your vape and if you do for medical reasons there should be a special room for it. I had to leave the concert early after spending $500. If I would of stayed while the people continued to smoke up. I would be worse state that I am in already today. This was so disappointing to me and my sister we were to enjoy the concert make memories and have that one special day before I go into major surgery. I know you try your best but unfortunately my fun was cut short due to people vaping. I did talk to some of the venue workers but they couldn't do anything or cared less about my complaint and what I was saying.

Place is trash. Don't trust what they tell you on the phone and don't believe they will work with you in a timely manner. Worst phone and communication system I've ever dealt with. Still haven't talked to a knowledgeable employee and super frustrated. Will never use their service again unless I'm forced to.

Xcel sent me an email stating that they were going to change my meter to a smart meter in about one month. Expecting to have them contact me, I waited but didn't hear from them at all! Then out of the clear blue I get an email stating that they changed my meter to a smart meter with no notice to me at all!!! I have two no trespassing signs on the front of my house and at the back on the fence where you enter for access to the meter! So they entered my property like a thief in the night, (UNANNOUNCED) took it upon themselves to change my meter, (NO DOOR TAG THAT THEY WERE THEIR) The only way I knew was that they sent me an email that they were there!!!! Then when I contacted them they tried to fast talk me into believing that because they own the equipment that they have the right to enter my property!! They jerked me around for almost a month, I fought them tooth and nail to get it removed!!! They stalled me, lied to me that they didn't have a meter like the one they removed!!! My gate is now locked 24/7 and if they enter my property without notifying me I will call the police and will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. They are a bunch of weasels and are trying to pass these smart meters off to save you money, so guess what they double your bill instead!!!! All the consumers need to do a class action suit against these ripoffs!!!!

Just lost $200 to a scam claiming to be xcel. I went to THEIR website and hit xcel customers service (need help paying your bill this month) called the number and made a partial payment over the phone. That was on Feb 27th. Xcel called me april 17th (almost 2 months later) to tell me they never got that call and I still owe that $200. 2 MONTHS LATER... SERIOUSLY... A scam person had my card # for that long. Of course xcel doesn't feel any need to try to make it right some how even though I called a # from THEIR OWN WEBSITE.

Xcel driver was texting while driving going slow and into other lanes. When I got in front of him at the light he was on the phone and didn't see me merge over almost hit me and then he proceeded to honk and flip me off and yell at me. License plate 83Z-JIA truck #J422513. Caught it all on camera.

Xcel Energy is by far the worst company ever. Shut off my services because supposedly they never saw my request order for new services on my house. Told me they would have my electricity turned on by end of the day, the next day and they never did. Called 4x and told them my electricity still was not on and to just be "patient". It is 10 degrees outside and I have no electricity. Xcel Energy is trash.

After my husband paid the Xcel bill from his checking account, they charged my checking account 3 times.
That drained my account. The young woman at Xcel was snotty and sarcastic. (Like a high school kid)
She said my account was charged because it was the default account, which is baloney, because my husband has been paying the Xcel bill from his account all along.

I would like to make an complaint against Xcel Energy regarding the not accurate amount of my bills. Xcel Energy sent me the paper bill of $68.06. However, I always pay my bill online on time on their official website where I have my account. When I opened my online bill, there was a due amount of $47.46 (which I paid in full) instead of $68.06. Xcel Energy gave me non-recurring charges/credits of $20.60 that month. However, the next statement was $20.60 more and they wrote that $47.46 was my credit and I still owe $20.60 even though I paid the full amount in the previous month. Xcel Energy not only raised their utility bills like 3 times more last year or two, which I found unbelievably unfair, but they also turned this amount of $20.60 into interest, which is now $25.07. I called customer service and explained the issue with the extra amount and asked them to take it off. However, they refused to take it off and did not transfer me to the manager/supervisor. Many people are very disappointed with Xcel Energy because we do not have any other available providers in Mesa County, Colorado. I would like that Xcel Energy pay some fines for such scams and unfair actions. I also made a complaint on https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/1296-12548/form. Please do the sam, maybe then Xcel Energy would do someting if a lot of people would file a complaint against them. Horible company.

Congratulations, Xcel is now the most hated company in Colorado. Everywhere I go people are talking about their outrageous utility bills. I will never support anything this company does in this state again. I trusted Xcel to be an honest partner who would deliver utilities at a decent rate. Now I will work to see this "for profit" monopoly is dismantled. Before this is done Xcel will be the subject of countless investigations and their once good reputation destroyed.

My lights were of for 24 hrs and I got small kids at my apartment I pay the money yesterday and I didn't get my lights back it was so cold outside -5 degrees we didn't had heater or place to cook and am pregnant too the customer were very rude unprofessional and by the state of law during the winter you it's illegal to cut someone's lights you guys but risk in my life and my children

Since having a smart meter installed, my electricity costs have more than tripled. I turned off everything on my breaker (though it is 0 degrees Fahrenheit in Colorado right now and I just need to heat my one bedroom apartment for which my electric bills are nearing $300), and I see through my Xcel account that I'm still somehow using energy. I called to request a meter trace to see if I'm not actually connected to someone else's smart meter, and they told me it is a 35 day window for a technician to check my meter. If I am actually switched with someone else, then I will get a credit to my Xcel account for the $500 + that I have spent in excess over the past couple of months (and not a refund)- then someone else will be unexpectedly charged for their past electrical consumption. There is nothing I can do to stop my electrical costs from sky rocketing because they do not correlate to my actual electrical use. I have called and called, and they will not send someone out here sooner. I sent an email but received an automated response about how they are having digital support issues and will not respond.

If you think your Xcel bills seem a little high, you should request a smart meter trace ASAP.

You put smart meters in without giving us an option, you increase our bills by more than double, and you can't keep the power on because of of some snow!!

I bet I cannot be late on my payment and blame it on the snow!

Maybe the people that thought of the "smart" meters should get smart and come up with a way to keep power on in snowy weather. IT IS COLORADO FOR CHRIST SAKES!!!

I've had many problems with the Xcel energy people. Well my house was in the process of being rebuilt we had one guy coming to the backyard stomp on a bunch of flowers that were growing and then he also removed a surveyor steak which was showing our property line. No one asked him to do that, no one wanted them to do that, but they did it anyways because they were in a bad mood. As well as multiple times where all I'm driving on the road and Excel energy people are either tailgating me honking at me or brake checking me. It will be nice if whatever it is happening to the xlng people or to stop so they can calm down, or at least Excel could hire people they don't have anger issues.

My daughter in Crosbyton Tx just got a new home. We had trouble with Excel from the beginning. Need a pole put up it took some call to get it done. The wire from the pole is ready done called Xcel to tell them and they received a fax telling it done the supervisor told it take 7 more day to get it done mean while the A/C can not be Put in . They were told have a heart problem live in the house. Had to move from rent to here.temp is around 98 to 100. The supervisor said not his problem. He will not make acception no matter what med condition I have. I had this company before and had nothing bad to say about them
I was glad my daughter had gotten them now I am not sure. I say there a good company bad a bad supervisor up here in Crosbyton Tx

Out of all the money y'all make off of everybody. Can't y'all figure a better way to read meters. Than using binoculars. To read meters.
I know lamb county electric haselectronic meters to scan the meter reading. It's sad to say that bills are depended on someone reading through telescopic device. Please figure something better out. Or maybe just need to get on neighborhood watch. And have as many people as possible put a paper over the meter.

The worst. Power goes out in our area often. You can't reach anyone and no updates given. Unfortunately no options in our area but xcel so we are literally forced to use them. Cannot stand this company, they need competition in the area.

Customer service hung up on me. I was polite and asked to be transferred. This wasn't their process, so they hung up on me. No vulgarity on my part, but the rep got defensive when I asked to speak to someone else to no fault of their own.

So xcel energy doesn't have an escalation process and are permitted to hang up on customers.

Brion from gas emergency services responded to our call at 3 am to check for CO after our alarms started going off and he was amazing. Found a few issues that was going on with our furnace that didn't have anything to do with the CO and wrote us a note to give our landlord to check it out. Great service! If it could have been anyone, I'm glad it was him that we let into our home in the middle of night.

I was notified 1 minute after outage. I was informed about progress and updates. It was only 5 minutes longer than expected. You all do a great job and I'm very happy with your service. Thank you. God bless Puerto Rico.

Been contacting excel energy for ten years about the same issue and its still not fixed. Powerlines have cause fires in my neighbors yard and our yard. Typical for profit company giving people shi++y service and still raising our bill. Power is out every month for days at a time.

I work for Xcel Energy as a customer service rep so if you think you got it bad, how do you think the reps feel? They are people trying to do their best with what they have and it is not good enough. We still get blamed even though things are not our fault or even beyond our control. How heartless is it to make demands when you have no idea how things are done? Some days I feel like miracles are demanded of me but not everything cooperates the way you want it to. There's only so much I can do. I do my best because more often than not, I know what it is like to have such little money and too many bills. Some days, I came home feeling sick to my heart and drained like I can't do my job anymore. I try my best to fix things and some customers love me and think I am absolutely pleasant to talk to. Show some compassion to the poor reps because they have the job no one else wants and if the rep seems angry, then they probably don't like their job anymore but still feel they have to keep going.
