Subject: Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct at Party City in Pearland, Texas
Dear Party City Customer Service,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred at the Party City store in Pearland, Texas. I feel compelled to bring this matter to your attention in the hope that it will be addressed appropriately.
Upon entering the Party City store with my 7-year-old nephew on July 16, 2023, I saw this as an opportunity to teach him about budgeting and making thoughtful choices. As we leisurely strolled through the store, enjoying our time together, we approached the end of our visit. At this point, my nephew spotted a Roblox card that caught his interest. I allowed him to choose the one he wanted, as I stood behind, observing his eagerness to be independent.
To my shock and dismay, a Party City assistant employee loudly and rudely confronted my nephew, saying, "See, you are about to get on my nerves. You need to move away from the stand." It was evident that my nephew was taken aback and frightened by this unwarranted outburst from an employee. He was under the impression that he was not allowed to be independent even with my guidance.
When I asked the cashier, Justice, about the incident, she confirmed that Floyd's behavior had startled her and expressed her confusion about his rudeness. She informed me that Floyd was the manager on duty.
I approached this employee, later identified as Floyd, to clarify the situation. I informed him that I was with my nephew and had given him permission to choose a game card. However, my efforts to explain the situation were met with dismissiveness and a lack of professionalism. I also noticed that Floyd was more interested in flirting with two ladies at the counter than addressing our concerns.
I attempted to discuss the issue with Floyd, expressing my disappointment with his actions and requesting information on how to make a formal complaint. Floyd became increasingly confrontational, denying any wrongdoing and insisting that he had not yelled. He directed me to look for a number on the receipt to file a complaint, which was not present. When he couldn't locate the number on the receipt himself that I handed to him, his demeanor became noticeably embarrassed.
This incident has left a lasting impact on both my nephew and myself. It has instilled a sense of fear and unease in my nephew, who still asks why he was treated so poorly by Floyd. I have been greatly distressed by the unprofessional conduct displayed by Floyd during our visit to your store.
I kindly request that Party City management thoroughly investigate this matter, review any security camera footage from around 5:08 p.m. on the date in question, and take appropriate action to address this issue. It is disheartening to think that an employee in a store designed for joy, laughter, and celebrations would behave in such a manner.
I have attached my receipt to provide evidence of my presence in the store on the day of the incident. I hope that Party City will take this complaint seriously and work towards ensuring that no child or customer is subjected to such mistreatment in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to a prompt resolution.

I never received my order. Per the confirmation, I was to receive a text when my drive up order was done. I never received the text. When I called the store and asked if they could either refund me or redo the order, the assistant manager was argumentative and no help to resolve the situation.

Do NOT order online! You will NOT receive what you paid for nor a refund, or any help of any kind! We ordered our shipment of birthday supplies for our daughter & sons birthday. We never received the package even though it was said to had been delivered. CLEARLY not to us!! The rep we got was not helpful at all nor did they care one bit we couldn't be receiving it. They offered no kind of help, sympathy of us being out $195. They refused to offer a reshipment or replacement, leaving us out $195 and not able to repurchase in time for my sons birthday this Saturday which is already enough embarrassment to admit! They have completely ruined his party, have taken our $195, and left us with no help. I can't believe a store I have shopped at for all their party decorations since age 1, would do this to us. If you must purchase from them, for the love of GOD only do it in store where they cannot take from you. We will never be purchasing from here again for their party stuff in the future and hate we have gave such an inconsiderate company our business for this long without knowing. Devastating is an understatement!!

Hi i would like to file a complaint Monday at about 135pm i went to your store at 8063 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236 and your cashier the girl tag said erica took my stole my card info. I received a alert that my card was charged for a Doordash order and later a lift from your store location

Employees were hateful , the one that checked us out was very rude made me feel stupid for their own mistakes , long wait time and even couldn't use the restroom, I will not be coming back to this one ever again

Placed an order at Party City - Brown Deer, WI. Received confirmation that order was ready to be picked up. Went to pick up order and it was not available. Store clerk could not find any of the items I ordered, but sent me message that order was ready. She said she called me to let me know she could not find items, BUT SHE DID NOT CALL ME! When I asked for refund, she continued blowing up balloons and told me I would have to wait until she was done to give me a refund. She was very rude. (The other 2 clerks were just standing around laughing and doing nothing.) Also, this store was a complete mess everywhere. No stock of items was available and when ordering on website, almost all items were "OUT OF STOCK". I hope I never have to visit this store again!

I went in store to buy balloons. I specifically asked for the larger sized balloons and pointed directly at them. They blew up the smaller one. After telling them they were incorrect, they told me I would have to buy it again or proceed w/ the smaller balloons because it's already blown up. I understand helium isn't cheap but being told I would have to pay an additional $30 for something that wasn't my fault was disappointing. The manager also just approached the entire situation with such a nasty attitude. Keep your damn helium. It ain't that serious.

The cashier's and a Manager w/blue hair at the Point Loma Party City have got a horrible attitude. Their customer service skills are maybe a 2 out of 10. While attempting to order balloons for another day, your cashier was acting like I was unconvincing her. There was nothing in stock which made it difficult to decide. I will NEVER return to this store, I will tell everyone of my experience. I wasn't the only customer being treated like crap.

I bought some party decorations and balloons at the store in Miami Gardens and NW 67th Ave on February 3rd and ordered balloons to be delivered at my house on 2/14. The service during my shopping was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Today, I called the store to change the delivery to Saturday. I first spoke to Julie which left me on hold and finally hanged up on me. I called back to speak to the Manager and Cameron came on the phone. He was super rude and unprofessional as well. He also put me on hold and never returned to the call. When I called back the third time, he put me on hold again and disconnected the call. I'm still unable to change the delivery date of my order. I'm super frustrated to say the least and will never go back to that Party City.

I'm a party planner and I visit the Harvey store at least once a week, the customer service is horrible. I've asked to speak to management and to my surprise it was the manager. He has the worst attitude.. If he doesn't like his job he should find another...

I bought items for a toy story party for daycare I was later told that I couldn't give out items I left it like that knowing I always keep my reciept after learning I lost it I still went back because I didn't open the items and the same person that took care of me a week prior said I remember you but I can't refund your items without a receipt so now since I don't have any intrest in purchasing anything else I'm stuck with these items without any other option DUMB

I received a $1 broken jump rope. It was unopened, I sat on hold to have it replaced. I was told I could get a replacement or refund, I told them I wanted the item. She asked if I wanted to just go buy it at their store. No. The next day it was shipped out and they billed my credit card $8 in shipping for an item that was clearly sent broken from the warehouse (the handle was cracked all the way down the side). Now I get to sit on hold again, after they open for their four hour customer service window that is. My first and likely last Party City order. I know it sucks to eat the shipping cost, but that item was never checked over as it was an obvious defect. Do better.

Takes too long to respond, misleading phone app stock availability, and bad customer service. I've been trying to get a refund on something they charged me for that wasn't even in stock.

Online returns did not work for my order number or phone number. After contacting customer service three times to follow up, I still have not recived a shipping lable and it has been three weeks. Now no one will return any emails.

Received my order of bulk candy today, May 5. Unfortunately, I had already opened one bag when I noticed it had expired in January. Other box has not expired. My advice to everyone--check expiration dates before opening since they are obviously selling expired food. Will not be purchasing from them again.

Harvey. LA store. 10/25. 7:15pm.

I purchased a few items Saturday. 10.18. While there, the other guy said at the checkout I could return the items for a refund. Ok. Went today, the unpleasant manager, Johnny had the nastiest attitude when I mentioned I was told that it could be done.
I received his rationale, but the body language, facial expression and tone on his. Voice was unpleasant and unwelcoming.

I send many people to this particular store as a part of my professional status. However, after tonight's tacky behavior from Johnny, the MOD, and miscommunication with his fellow employees, I will ensure that the dozens of families and constituents I direct to patronage them will be redirected effective immediately.

I had my card and a scanned copy of the receipt of my purchase. However party city wouldnt give me a refund. After talking to several employees and a manager that was very short with me limiting his answers and unable to explain the return process to me. They ended up giving me store credit while I was still trying to resolve the issue and the manager walked off. Which left me with a young clueless cashier. I actually would have kept a few things if I was just getting store credit but didnt get that option. The store didnt have what I wanted and I tried to buy it online however I cant figure out how to pay online with store credit. Is this possible? Very frustrating. Ive returned to the store before without a receipt and been treated like a thief. Later to find the receipt went back and then it was past the date to return. Crazy.

I placed an order with this company for party supplies. They said they shipped and delivered it but I never got it. 4 days and a social media poop storm (they apparently also sensor curse words) later I finally actually got a response. They said they had refunded me and sent me an email, but my bank does not in any way reflect that. They f worded me over and stole my money. Do NOT buy from them. They have some of the worst customer service and they are liars. You will never actually see your money back.

I wanted to cancel the order I made 30mins before, so they wouldn't ship. I waited for about 40 mins for the answer. But in about a minute or so, the customer service representative dropped the phone! Are you kidding me? After waiting for so long? I filled out their "contact us" form, explaining the reason of cancel (I wanted store pick-up, but the system made an online order, which would arrive later when I actually need), but no one responded. And they started shipping everything the next day!
And I have to pay extra for shipping the return alongside with the shipping fee they've initiated.. Very bad customer service!!!

I ordered the order I recieved only one email stating my order will arrive on Friday August 3 the order was delivered on Saturday afternoon about 2-3 o'clock which was too late I dont think I should be paying for shipping of the order I also need a return ship labeled to return the order back

I don't know why I can't get cash back on a return that I used my debit card with . You can get cash back only if you paid in cash but if you use your card you would have to have the card with you in order for you to get a refund that can take anywhere from 7 to 10 business days !! If you don't have the card even with a receipt they will only give you store credit !! I will not be purchasing from Party City again !

I bought some items from Party City three days ago. I lost the receipt but needed to return a few of the items. They would not look up receipt with credit card and said they can only look it up with phone number or email. This should be verbally communicated to customers when they make a purchase....and customers should not be penalized for not wanting to give out their personal info. Horrible return policy equals poor customer service.

I came to party City in Ferguson ,Mo,I came in one day their were 3 employee their, I had a inter action with all 3,I went to the first one he was a black guy,I thank his name was Travis,he sent me up front ,I went up front their were 2 cashier savanna and Karen ,they were so friendly but savanna tried to over talk Karen,and she act like she was so drunk I could spell the alcoal on her ,this was not the first time,I walked off,I came back up and ask Karen to help me ,she was so helpful,and she had the best cust.serv.she made old lady feel so import,I watched her,she treated every cust.like they were the only one in the store ,best cust.serv. I have seen in a long time,Karen and her great cust.serv. would be one of the reason I would come back in that store,I think you all should tell savanna to use some mental,and don't come to work drunk she has good cust.serv.

I would like to commend a party city employee at your Clifton NJ the store -
Sheena Simms. I came into the store not knowing what to purchase as far as balloons for my granddaughters birthday. Sheena saw the look on my face and put together a beautiful colorful balloon bouquet, which we received many compliments on at her party. She went above and beyond to assist me, and also helped me find other items in the store as well. Sheena was helping other customers as well with a professional attitude and smile. This employee needs to be recognized for a job well done.

the difference in two stores!! I went to Party city Forestville Md to get some party supplies and one couldnt find anyone too help me!! Walked up to manager on duty who only pointed and acted like we were disturbing him!!! Couldnt find what we were looking for so asked another person name tag was Tom! Same results we were disturbing him!!! Passed us on to someone else so walked out of store!!! We went to Waldorf store was greeted coming in by Art! we asked him for some help and he told us what we were looking for you didnt have so he went on to say sometimes think outside the box and procedded to help put together our Party needs!! He was up on a ladder and came down to help us!! No pointing no passing off to someone else! we ended up spending over a hundred dollars!!! but didnt mind because he was on point with all his suggestions!! what a difference a store makes and great customer service makes!!! we will return to Party City but not Forrestville!!!!! even the cashiers are friendly!!!! Great management!! Hope he gets thumbs up!!!!!

Good Morning, My name is Colleen Tyner, I visited the Party City store in Charlotte, NC last night. My daughter and I were there looking for a costume for a school dance. My daughter wanted a Bat Girl costume, we realize its not Halloween season but figured we can try to find something. We did not see anything for her, we asked a worker by the name of Ashton. Ashton was very approachable and eager to help. We explained to her what we were looking for. She showed us to the aisle, pulled merchandise off the racks but unfortunately the items were too small for my daughter. She then said let me go in the back and see what I can find. She came out with a Batgirl costume that was perfect!!! Ashton was fantastic, on our way out she even said to my daughter have fun at your dance.
She is what customer service is all about, these days you do not find that too often. Please recognize her, she made my daughters night!

I recently visited the party city by 34th st NYC . I had the most pleasant experience with one of your cashiers I think her name tag read Estephany , very customer service oriented went out of her way to help me with an expired coupon after I had spent over 80 dollars worth of birthday goodies . I feel she deserves some recognition , I've come to this location multiple times and this is the first time one of the employees went above and beyond . Thank you

Staff is very rude and I found out that one of the franchise's may actually be violating tax exempt laws and they were not very receptive as it as an employee. I have been trying to contact that office as well as the accounting office to get an EIN number. I was told by the accounting of store 127 that she was not required to give it to me and she didn't feel like giving it to me period getting ahold of anybody in order to go above this has been extremely difficult. It seems that very rude staff is a common denominator and acceptable. It's amazing how you can go into the store as a customer and see the Sparkle and the shine and when you work there you find out just how inappropriate they really are.

I work at one in the party city's in Georgia. I'm reading all these comments of other stores getting the same bad reviews. People are complaining about line waiting and lots of people. Which isn't our stores fault, it's the costumers for coming in. If you don't agree then don't ship there. Also people don't like waiting for balloons. You can show up to any party city on a Saturday morning, with 50 balloon orders before yours and expect to be out in 10 mins. It's not our fault!! We are told by corporate and the managers. Same rule applys anywhere you go, you can't just jump in line infront of other people also waiting. Overall people need to wake up, we're humans too.

This is a horrible place to work. Their payroll is absolutely ridiculous for the work they want done every week. If you want a store that is up to high standards, then your payroll should reflect it. Otherwise, do not be surprised when things are halfway done and the store is in shambles. Get a clue party city. I will not be encouraging people to work here what so ever.

to the dissatisfied customer, you do understand it is not allowed for the employee to leave the store once it is dark, ESPECIALLY with someone unknown such as yourself. Many workers at PC are teenagers, and if they were allowed to assist anyone outside in a dark parking lot near a vehicle that could lead to kidnappings or etc. You probably werent a kidnapper, however that rule is there to ever prevent that. If you're child was abducted at work, you would be outraged that the company let them leave the store after dark with a stranger. Although not all employees are teens, adults may be at risk of theft or muggings in a dark parking lot, away from where their managers can see them, and so it is just easier for the rule of no one leaving after dark to be set. understand.
