On the phone over two hours all keep getting is transferred

Posted by [email protected]

I purchased the Humana plan that included orthodontic treatment. Today I called to see how much they cover and I was told I don't have ortho coverage. This was totally misleading on Humana to sell me the policy specifically for ortho coverage and not honour what I've been paying for. I will not go back to Humans for any insurance needs from now on.

I work in a personal injury law firm. We frequently have to call insurance providers to get lien amounts on behalf of our clients.

Humana Reps have NO idea what they're doing. I was on the phone for about an hour and transferred to a total of 7 different people and the issue was still not resolved. The first time I called I even got hung up on.

Patients...AVOID Humana. They're a pain for you to deal with as well as your providers and legal reps.

I have been looking for dental insurance and I keep receiving brochures from Humana stating they now provide dental insurance. So I called to inquire if they had dentist in my area. They assured me they did and named a dentist that was in my area that accepts Humana. I said that was great. But what he failed to disclose was that dentist was out of network and I was responsible for any payment.Sooo I called Humana to ask them to cancel my dental plan. They proceeded to tell me that I would just have to pay 10.00 more for my co-pay which would be 60.00 instead of 50.00. Now I'm a senior citizen and a fixed income why should I pay more and out of pocket expenses? I am VERY disappointed with Humana lately and I have been with them for over 10 years. And I'm thinking of going elsewhere for insurance. Any Suggestions

Humana customer care service is really terrible. Definitely one of the worst. I will never buy this insurance again. I called the customer care line for my ID and they just kept transferring my call to different agents. After two hours talking with multiple agents, the problem was still not resolved. Worst of the worst, the call was cut off several times once I asked talking to the supervsior.

Humana is horrible. Their lower tier associates will lie to you, send you down blind alleys, try to tire you out, I think they read a script with this design. There is no continuity, you get a different person every time and have to start over. If you have an issue in a foreign country, they want you to go back and get reports from the doctor etc. And then they expect you to pay to have it translated. When you do that,,they can say the bills are padded and accuse you of collusion and fraud. They are very good at finding ways to deny your claim. They are a multi billion dollar company and they say they don't have the software to translate foreign claims. It's just pure Bullsh!t. Nothing but aggravation.

Human is a huge disappointment!!!! They have the worst eye care situation in this state of Florida! I will not be going with this insurance payer next year!!!! Why is the Humana upper level (not the customer service level) in such a mess???? Half of the Dr's and eyecare providers are not covered by Humana and as I am told Humana is dragging their feet in getting Eye care and physicals under HUMANA's umbrella. I am so angry with this payer!!!! This would be the third time I have had to change doctor's or now trying to find eye care doctor's that accept Humana coverage!!!!!!

Terrible service. Dr faxed request for OT & PT. Humana responded. Requested additional info which my Dr sent. It's been 2 weeks. Called customer service and they told me they don't have any record of the request. Person working the request did not put notes on my account. Aggravating.

I had a question about about my referral and I was put on hold so she can check. She came back after 30 minutes and put me on hold again until another person picked up after 30 minutes. and asked why I was on hold. After I explained she put me on hold and then then terminated the call after a minute. This happened between 2 and 3 PM 02/22/23.

I am a medical biller for a clinic. Just today customer service rep hung up on me twice. If you are a patient please stay away from Humana plans. Humana really doesn't seem to care at all about their customers. And they obviously are not investing into the third party call centers they use, the employees sound very unhappy.

To whom it may concern:
When I first signed up with Humana; Brenda ensured me that my doctor was on the HMO plan she had chosen to recite to me, the plan included many of the things I needed, I knew it would not take an affect until January 1, 2023
Now, January 1, 2023 my doctor orders an echo cardio gram, I received a call from the doctors office that my doctor is not on the plan and that if I continue with this order I will have to pay out of pocket
I said, no ma'am Humana ensured me that you all are on my plan, she said, call Humana again, so I did
After, speaking with (and I promise No exaggerating) to twelve different people, the last agent I spoke with was basically a very rude person
I finally found out that my doctor was not on this plan that was so awesome, my doctor knows me and I have finally found a doctor who truly cares about his patients and they aren't just a number bringing in big bucks,
The last agent was very rude, she said, you can either take all the bells and whistles, or take a plan that has your doctor on it without all the bells and whistles
I had to take my doctor without getting any of "the bells and whistles" when I asked the agent a question she stated
"I have already answered that question, is there anything else I can help you with "REALLY" I thought the agent was supposed to answer your questions as many times as you asked it until you understood, I guess I am wrong!
Anyway, I am extremely disappointed in my plan, and how (just because I want and need to keep my doctor) I am on a plan I do not want due to the incompetence of some agents
I hate that I had to pay over $200.00 out of pocket at my eye doctor because the plan I had to take has so much less coverage as well as no bells and whistles as the last agent stated
As soon as the next enrollment comes around I will choose a new insurance provider
Signed,
A very disappointed Insuraser

Humana needs to tell in commercial that there is a copay of almost $300 for the first 7 days of a hospital stay and is due when discharged.

Customer service reps are not educated with any Humana information to help with concerns, coverage, problems. I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED after trying to resolve an issue since 1/31/23. Today is 2/3/23. Reps REFUSE to connect me with a corporate level person, who might know how to resolve my situation. I can't call Customer service since they are the problem!! Been a Humana Customer for more than 5 years. Strongly considering changing to anothr5 company!!

My experience with Your telephone customer service was bad.
The ectronic server was good but when I spoke to a live person the couldn't find my account.
Then I was transfered to another department but the hold time was upseen about 12 minutes or so.
When someone finally answered I asked them to hold for a moment a they hung up on me.

Do not except Humana for your Medicare niece go to another insurance company and then has been the worst insurance company I've ever had to deal with and by the way the OTC card if you're a new member wait two months maybe three before you get a card go to another insurance company do not again do not choose Humana

Customer service is very helpful, but to get that spend card, good luck, I signed up in December and still have not got my card, and they say, it's in the mail, but if you don't get it in January at least it roll over to the next month, Well that's not helping me NOW!!!, I'm sure I'm not the only one, Next year I think this insurance company will be on my list to accept.

My Dad was restricted by his Humana plan for skilled nursing facilities in FL. Because he only signed up for the dental plan. Had no idea that would restrict his ability to a quality skilled nursing facility. Found out that only 1 out of 8 accept this, and the facility they sent him to already has abuse claims against them. His care has been horrible there. Found out I had to cancel his Humana plan to actually get him into a decent care facility. In less than 2 weeks he rapidly declined with bed sores, lack of basic hygiene and meals. Do not let your elders go to Emerald Coast facility.

absolutely impossible to work with as a provider. leaving the network today because of Humana's dedication to not paying legit claims.

I called Humana PA Dept at 800-865-8715 today (12/05/22) at 3:35pm CST. Rep James G who answered the call needs training in customer service skills. He definitely lacked common etiquette. When I first said I can't hear him well he kept yelling HELLO multiple times at me. Please listen to your recording. Call ref# 90407526

Humana has left me with a bruised up left leg not able to walk for the last five months, no help at all. I was thrown out of Albuquerque ER emergency room after giving them my Humana card, treated as if I was trying to use a fraudulent card. Now I'm stranded in New Mexico and can't get back to Florida.

This company has the worst customer service. I have made 7 complaints regarding medicare their transportation vendor. This company never picks me up for my appointments and then I have to keep rescheduling and now I'm getting really sick and Humana doesn't give a damn that I can't access my benefits. I may have to go to the hospital soon just to get care. Humana doesn't give a damn about their insureds only cashing your premiums. And the customer service is horrible. They refuse to give their managers names or allow you to speak to anyone. They are rude and talk over you. You can hear their children yelling in the background when you trying to have a conversation or hear them eating on the phone. Sometimes they make nasty comments when they think they have you on hold.

I called Humana customer service today and I spoke with pearline and she was very kind and empathetic with my situation and answered all my questions but she needed to transfer me to Cheyenne in benefits. Cheyenne was above amazing! With all I have been through and I'm going through terminal illness and struggles she took control of the situation and she found out I was being charged co-pays when I should not be being charged the copies and is calling everybody to get reimbursements! I have been fighting for my life for the past year and it has deteriorated and these two customer service Representatives took that in consideration and had professional empathy and are going to help me rather than me just trying to figure things out myself because I've been through so much! These two customer Representatives deserve high consideration and are an asset to your company!
I've been so sick and stressed out because my life is on the line and just to have somebody listen to you and assist you is way above and beyond with what I've been going through for the past year and I really appreciate it!

I called today and spoke with a customer service representative named Valerie. She could not have been more helpful. She was friendly and helpful. The service was so much better than I expected. She explained prior authorization to me and answered all of my questions. She even apologized for putting me on hold while she double checked her information. Wonderful service. Thank you Valerie!

Your computer just called me regarding a visit with a doctor. I could not understand the name of the doctor until after the computer hung up then I figured it out. I would have given her a rating of 10 instead of 2. I really appreciate talking to a live person. If you don't understand what it says, it is like it gets irritated with you. You are doing it the favor by trying to answer the questions.

I have read all these complaints and just now signed up for Humana care source for my Insurance provider and I did this as all I have heard nothing but all good things about this Insurance provider so I am beginning my plan this year and I am 56 years old so I will know from facts from my own use and will let you all know the outcome Louise it is just hard for me to believe all these bad things from such a well talked about Insurance company (about to find out from my own expiereinces) and thank all of you for the info and warnings will be on alert. Have been very successful so far on contacting them and getting all the information I have needed so far.

This is our third year with Humana's Regional PPO. We have never had a problem with claims, and we've had quite a few. My assigned nurse is wonderful, she checks with me periodically, especially after a major test (I'm a cancer survivor).

I just don't understand all the negatives. I give them a 10++++.

My name is Sandra Johnson and I had a question answered by Victor in your Cary, NC office. Victor was a great reflection on your customer service department. He was so very pleasant and informative and as this was my first contact since choosing Humana I can say I was impresed. Bravo to Victor.

Beware of geographic coverage gaps with Humana's Medicare package, especially for specialists. Was searching for an Ear, Nose, Throat specialist in San Diego County. The closest "approved" is either 20 miles north or 20 miles south with no public transportation. That is a coverage gap of 40 miles in a densely populated area! Nearest Urgent Care doctor is
25 miles north.

Whereas Medicare is good with any doctor who will accept it.

I had a bill that I owed and wasn't able to pay it until the last minute and had a deadline which happened to be on the weekend. I wasn't able to get thru to a live person to let them know I had sent the payment in with the other numbers that I had to Humana. It was only when I looked online for customer service that I was able to relay this message. I am now satisfied with this and the agent that helped me.
