I had a bad experience with very poor customer service at the Half Price Books located at 5417 S Hulen St, Fort Worth, TX 76132. I wrote a complaint which was ignored. I finally wrote a bad review on the BBB and they had the nerve to lie saying they were "polite and professional?" They were NOT polite and NOT professional. They were downright rude and unprofessional. The rude person who works in "customer service" at HPB who responded to my BBB review did not even write his name when he lied about them being polite and professional. They are NOT. These people are rude and unfriendly.

Received a book I ordered in error prior to learning about the correct edition of Barron's SPANISH Fourth EditionI ordered both books and only need the Fourth Edition. I ordered this Fourth Edition from Half Price Books as well. Given the delays in the USPS and other delivery means due to Coronavirus Pandemic and its effects in delaying delivery. I just received the unwanted book Tue. May 5, 2020.
May I return the incorrect book for refund even though I have passed Half Price Books terms and conditions for return.

I was told at checkout that books were returnable for cash refunds with in thirty days of purchase,if I paid in cash,which I did. And now hpb is not honoring what I was told. I am done with hpb. For good. I won't be lied to but once.

On the 23rd, yesterday, I visited your store in Bloomingdale on army trail road. I lady in her twenties was there with her dog. She had a clicker. She was training her dog in your store. It was very irritating. The female clerk told me this is a pet friendly store. Fine. But the dog lady wasn't shopping. I was. The other customers were. We were supporting your store. I couldn't take itanymore. I approached the evening manager and expressed my concerns. He was polite. He said that this was a regular customer. I said fine. I get it. The need to bring your pet everywhere with you. But , i told him that this is not a dog training facility. She should take her dog to a facility to train it. She was being very disrupting. I also told him that I wasn't done shopping, but I will pay for the items I had and you will loose a bigger sale. He did not ask the woman to stop the training. I love dogs, and have had dogs all my life, but I would have never brought a dog into a bookstore to train it. Please look into this matter. I love your store, but if this continues, I won't shop there.

I have 2 books I order that they are wrong for my class. Not you fault mine. I just need to return them and get my money back.

I would like the express my sincere gratitude to a person on your Customer Service staff who was highly professionally and very pleasant to work with.

I do not know her full name, though she signs her emails as "K. Carmichael"

I live in New York and ordered a gift certificate for my granddaughter who lives in Cincinnati Ohio but in my order neglected to note "memo"; when I sent the email where I indicated that I would like it to be signed for me, K. Carmichael responded that while she could not sign on my behalf, she could include a Post Card with my congratulations. She sent me several emails, inquiring how best to proceed and constantly sought my advice so that I would be fully satisfied.

I am incredibly grateful for her dedicated service that she carried through with such concern.
