I bought a GE fridge on September 22,2023. On Christmas Day we opened the freezer to find everything liquified and ruined. It's been 4 days. Their online customer service mandates I call. When I call, I get stuck on hold for ridiculously long hold times. At the end of the hold, they either hang up on me, or tell me there's no service provider for my area. When I called Dennings, where I bought the fridge, they were able to contact a Chat rep. The Chat rep told him my fridge is over three years aold and is no longer covered under warranty. He tried to give them proof of purchase and they told him to call another number, which resulted in more endless hold times. I'll never buy GE for as long as I live. I will discourage everyone I know from ever buying these shatGE products as well.

I Bought a GE-GFW550SPN2DG Washer Machine. Machine is less than 1 years old when it broke August 23, 2023. It is now December 19, 2023. I have been dealing with GE repair men, who order parts that have not been installed. They say washer is fixed still not working. Now What?

I bought a GE refrigerator and oven on 4-16-23, they were delivered on 5-9 23 and we started using them on 5-14-23. On 11-12-23 we noticed the temperatures of the refrigerator dropping. On 11-14-23 I made my first call of 16 to GE for warranty help. I have been stood up on 3 different occasions by their choice of repair options. Today, 12-14-23 someone was supposed to be here between 8 and 5. At 6p.m. I received an email saying my repair date has been rescheduled to 12-27-23. There is no way for me to call them to request an earlier date, or to get any information at all. I went to the store where I bought these products (ABC Warehouse, Ft Wayne IN) on 11-30-23 and spoke to Kevin Hauff, who sold me the items, only to be scolded for not buying their "extended warranty" and got the brush off from them. This is ridiculous that GE has such inferior products and can't provide the warranty service they claim they offer and the stores don't do anything but make you feel bad for not paying extra for help if it is needed. I'm going on 33 days without a refrigerator that I paid $1400.00 for and looking at another 2 weeks until someone comes to do diagnostics on it and then who knows how long until it actually gets fixed. And all during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays!!! I will NEVER buy a GE piece of junk again!!!! And, I have realized that I am not alone in this dilemma, everywhere I look, the reviews and complaints are the same! How can GE be ok with this? I am sick of your "no customer service" and your "it sucks to be you warranty"!!!!!!!!! I am now going to be forced to join all the social media groups stuck in the same dilemma, and report to BBB and seek legal council. Not at all what I thought when I put my trust and faith into your product and company. Anyone affiliated with GE should be ashamed of themselves!

My 2 year old Cafe refrigerator developed problems, first the ice maker was leaking then I discovered items in the freezer had thawed. I called a local company for service and their rep diagnosed the problem and said I had to use GE service because the Cafe was still under warranty. The GE serviceman basically ignored the previous dx and spent hours and 3 phone calls before agreeing with the first dx. Told me parts had to be ordered and could arrive in about 10 days and the return appointment would be 6 days after that. He left and 36 hours later I discovered that now the refrigerator doesn't work either. Can't reach service on weekend; can't schedule a new appointment because they already have an appt for 16 days from now. This isn't a washing machine or dryer where things can be taken to the laudromat. It's not an oven that you could use a toaster oven or bbq grill to cook food. We don't have an ice house by the way. Fortunately I have a 2nd refrigerator in the garage, but I had to throw away all the perishable foods. Seems to me that refrigerator/freezers should have a high priority to fix. But what do I know?

Right now I am a little annoyed that I have to pay another $200 to have somebody fix my dryer which is only 17 months old, for the second time. Is this something I'm gonna have to do every six months? I'm not too happy about GE at the moment. Model number GTD4EASJ2WW. What can you do about this?

I bought a washer and dryer combo over a month and a half ago. There was a dent in the appliance. I was first told about a month to get one replaced then another month added onto that. Very poor customer service! I would be ashamed to work for a company that will not go above and beyond to help customers. Especially if they paid 2000+ dollars for a new appliance. It has been a total nightmare.

If you buy GE, bend over and get ready to scream!
My Product: GE Profile™ 30"Induction Cooktop Model# PHP9030DJBB- DOES NOT WORK - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (THE WORST)!Brand-New out of the box, installed by a licensed electrician in the business for 50 years, and the cooktop does not work. I literally have a $3,000 non-functioning paperweight in my kitchen and cannot cook for my family. GE Customer Relations Department has been awful and has not helped us. They obviously do not care. They pretend to be helpful, but they do not help at all and they lie, lie, and then lie some more. Me and my family have been unable to cook for 3 weeks. GE has not offered us any assistance nor have they apologized. GE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ME OR YOU OR ANYBODY FOR THAT MATTER - PERIOD! I asked them to simply send me a brand-new functioning cooktop and and they said, "No, that's not how our procedures work." They said it needs a new part and they'll ship that part to me and send out a repairman to install it. I requested the part be shipped overnight. They agreed to ship it overnight. Well, the part should have arrived today, but it has not arrived. I contacted GE and they said, "Oopsie, we forgot to ship it overnight. You'll receive it in 7 to 10 days." No apology. No offer to help us financially with the high cost of eating out due to not being able to cook - NOTHING. This is the worst possible situation anyone can ever be in with a company. I literally asked their representative Amy, "Per your policy, what is the amount of time you are willing to allow your client to stew before you step in and fix the problem." Amy's answer (per the recorded phone call), "It's on a case-by-case basis." You cannot make this garbage up, folks! I do not recommend GE, and I do not recommend any GE products. In fact, I'd suggest you run hard and fast away from GE! I will be calling the BBB tomorrow and filing a report and I will also call whomever else I can think of to complain and/or fill out a report. GE SIMPLE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR BOTTOM LINE $$$. If you buy GE, you may as well bend over and get ready to scream!

Horrible company and customer service. Don't buy from them. Would not recommend purchasing anything well definitely not something with much money. The normal warranty you pay for like for other companies is not the same. Really it's a bs reimbursement, meaning on top of what you've already paid for. They fight you on immediately sending a replacement, and on sending a technician. In the end to say buy another one the same value then we would send you a refund. After weeks of waiting for the service tech to come out today. He was supposed to be here between 8-12pm by 12:53 called and the tech lied and said they couldn't reach us. Yet we been here a up all morning. Prime example had this air conditioner brand new and not even a year yet. Which I only used for a month last year. Go to cut on now and it's defected keeps beeping and clicking off. Mind you now I'm finding out bad model and a lot of customers had the same issue. Yet they doing anything not to service it or replace. Horrible customer service bedside manner and just want your money!

My mother purchased a french door GE refrigerator about a year and a half ago. she since has passed and the bottom freezer and ice make no longer work. The repair man sent out by the store where she purchased it said what was broken should not have broken is this short amount of time. He encouraged me to call customer service. Customer service was terrible. The representative was rude and not helpful. I will never purchase a GE product again.

Bought a GE Profile top washer in February of 2023 and already had the repair man at my house 3x,the biggest POS ever bought, they wont give me my money back and keep sending someone to fix the problem, so far ever part on the brand new machine was replaced. It all started with a LID LOCK!!! Stay away from GE, should of bought Whirlpool

Had GE repair person (Ali) come to fix oven that would not hold temperature. While oven was still heating up Ali said there was nothing wrong with it. Explained problem was that it would not hold temperature, but he said he could not wait to see that happen, and repair parts would be $500. I paid $125 for service call, and all he did was turn on Oven and say nothing was wrong with it. Thanks GE for nothing.

No user manuals available in hard copy form. I recently purchased 2 GE appliances for a total of $3600. Both appliances came with paper work that said I could call GE to receive paper copies of the use and care manuals. When I called they said due to environmental concerns they no longer produce paper copies but I could access the manuals on line. I protested but was told there was no way that I could receive hard copies of the manuals instructing me as how to use my new appliances. I cannot bring my computer to the kitchen to use the manuals. I would have to print them out to have access to them near the appliances. So now I will have to impact the environment by printing my own cpy at my expense!!

Dont buy anything that is GE or Samsung or LG. They all are made cheap and are owned by China.

I have never been more disappointed in my life with appliances!! The top load washers are made cheap and fall apart. I've only had mine for a few months and the lid lock mechanism broke and the lid is basically falling apart!! I always thought GE was a good quality brand, boy was I wrong!! And to beat it all no warranty after I paid it off, I am screwed because now I bought a $800 piece of junk that I am stuck with!!!

Bought a fridge 8 months ago we received the fridge door pins didn't work doors are on aligned. 2 months later ice maker quit working took two and a half months to get it replaced. 3 days ago refrigerator completely went out on sunday March 12th, ge was not open to see what could be done. Called 8am this morning and soonest for a repair technician to come is Wednesday. And that is just too confirm what is wrong with it then there's a process in ordering parts and then making another appointment to come fix it it's going to be another 2 months before I get to refrigerator fixed and it's been nothing but a problem from the get-go.. I will NEVER buy another ge product!

Bought ge washer in March of 2022. August 2022 transmission went ,it took til November to get it replaced then it wouldn't spin water out took several weeks to get a tech out he hooked a device to it and said nothing wrong. Ge decided they had already been out like 5 times and would not send another tech. They acted like I didn't know how to load a washer. I called sears on my own time and money and they found a broke wire that controlled the RPS on washer . It took 10 minutes to fix . If ge had took 2 minutes to look under washer they would have seen . I lost 6 unpaid days waiting for techs to come . This has been the most Stressful and worst experience I have ever dealt with with a product . The worst customer service ever . Will never buy and GE product again, and would not recommend to anyone.

Contacted GE about a defective appliance, they offered me a comparable unit and made arrangements to have it installed by one of their partner companies. After waiting almost a month, the company finally arrived to replace my dishwasher, only to discover the one they brought was damaged. They told me it's GE's policy that they Not open the box u til they arrive at the customer's home so I took a day off work for nothing and will need to wait another month for a replacement. When I called GE's customer service number, of course you get someone different than the person you originally spoke with, these people don't care at all. I could tell that the representative I was talking to just wanted to get me off the phone so she could get back to watching her "soaps" since she was "working" from her kitchen table.. you could hear the TV on in the background. I am going to cancel my order and just buy something from Lowes since I can't wait another month.

Tried to get a GE gas range repaired but the bigot person who showed up refused to touch the stove but began to berate me because I am black with congestive heart failure and use a mobility scooter he felt brave enough to like I said berate me but when I informed him I was going to call law enforcement and our loud voices woke my wife who works night he decided to leave my home! To add insult to injury he reported I threaten him thus GE refuses to repair my stove! The stove was purchased 11/17/2022 from Lowes so Lowes will not let me return it and GE will not repair it! We're looking for an attorney to represent us against this company who have questionable employee who they protect no matter what!

Bought a GE refrigerator in July 2022. It quit working in January 2023. First the freezer then the fridge. Called GE and they sent out a serviceman who replaced the relay and ordered a compressor. He came back yesterday to install the compressor and blew out the control board on the front which manages temperature, ice and water distribution. The fridge was noisy before all this and now is even noisier. Told by the serviceman it would make noise until the Freon is distributed throughout the fridge but would end shortly. 24 hours later it is still making more noise than it ever did. Can't sit in the kitchen for the noise. When we talked to a rep at GE this morning she said she didn't want
to argue but our service ticket was closed out yesterday with nothing else scheduled. We also asked about the amount of frozen food we initially lost and she said GE didn't have to, but they were issuing a $100 check. Ridiculous. We lost well over $300 in frozen and refrigerated items. Like it was a favor to us we were getting anything.
Do NOT buy a GE appliance. They suck as does the customer service.

wouldn't give any stars if I didn't have to. We bought a g.e washer and dryer set from conn's (yes I know their title is in the name of the store) and we get it home it doesn't work...we call conn's nothing they can do we have to go thru the warranty. So now we're dealing with GE and they want to go thru some dumb policy that they have to try each part to see if it fixes the problem. It takes about 1-2 weeks for the part and another 1-2 for the tech to come out to fix it..and now we are waiting on parts that are on back order and won't be in till March ? this is the worst customer service I have EVER! had from any company. Don't buy from Conn's they will conn u and GE's appliances are busted. Save u some headache go with another brand and appliance finance company that cares about their reputation.

I bought a $600 dollar GE dishwasher. I am 4 months out of the warranty and the unit completely stopped working (likely the motor went out. This appliance is only 1.5 years old!! We had to keep it in storage for the first six months while we were finishing the remodel on my kitchen. The unit was used for less than 1 year. GE customer service was rude and completely unsympathetic. This dishwasher is HORRIBLE it takes a full 6 hours to wash one load of dishes. Broke after the first month of use, had it repaired and here we are less than a year later and it is not functioning at all. Horrible product and HORRIBLE customer service!

Posted by Drdrill

They are horrible and rude. They hung up on me twice.waiting for a part for 4 weeks and now they saying I have to wait another 1.5 months for the part. Talking about supply chain profile and pandemic. That excuse is getting old. I tried to contact supper wiser they transferred me an an still on hold as we speak going on for 30min. Never buy GE so you don't have to go through what I am going through. Rating -0

Our GE Profile wall oven has been slowly deconstructing over the 8 years we've owned it. First the roll-out rack stopped rolling. Then the interior started rusting and the floor buckled. Now, the screws that hold the convection fan plate to the back of the oven are randomly falling out. You'd think screwing them back in would be a simple matter. Nope. They no longer "bite," for whatever reason. A 20-minute wait to get a human on GE's "customer service" line was an exercise in futility because, of course, the warranty period has long expired. Helpful woman told me to schedule service or buy a new oven. Gave her my zip code. "Oh, we don't service that area." I understand that appliances break down but this is shoddy workmanship on a major appliance that *should* last longer than 8 years.

Love my ten year old GE Chef gas range/electric oven. The burners are easy to clean and the variable heat on the four burners is handy. The center converts to either a grate or another burner--great for grilled cheese sandwiches. With a main oven plus a lower warming oven, we can fry up a batch of bacon and keep it warm for those who straggle to breakfast. All of this in about 35 inch of width.

I have owned a GE Americana Stove, initially placed in my apartment in the 1960s. It has worked efficiently until recently. One burner finally stopped working, and my oven is not as efficient. I appreciated this oven for its quality and life expectancy.

I am SHOCKED to many negative reviews about GE. I am OVER THE TOP impressed with GE. I had purchase a window unit air conditioner last year and it wasn't working that well for some reason, I meant to contact them but with Covid chaos I kept forgetting to. They sent me a Goodwill Certificate and actually just got my check for the FULL amount 2 days ago. All GOOD EXPERIENCES so far!

Outstanding!!!
Can't speak to appliance issues, but had a problem with an LED flood bought from Walmart. Didn't have the receipt, but called the lighting 800#. Very impressed. Two new bulbs were sent in 2 days.

I am in the midst of an issue with my washer which is less than 4 years old and required a 200.00 plus repair. The customer service help has been quite responsive and polite, so no matter the outcome, they have been pleasant to deal with.

We purchased our GE washing machine in June of 2015. In July of 2016 it started leaking and making a horrible noise. The machine was just out of warranty so we figured we would be stuck with a large repair bill ($500). But I decided to call GE and see what could be done. We talked to the most friendly helpful GE representative that took all our information and presented it to their customer care department. We then got the great news that although the warranty had expired GE was willing to step up and honor their product!! They sent out one of their certified repairmen and he immediately diagnosed the problem and ordered the correct part. Within a few days it was repaired and didn't cost us a dime. We will forever be loyal GE customers! Thank you GE!!

Tom and Ed were our service guys and were very knowledgeable and friendly and took care our problems with our GE Profile microwave and Profile wall oven. Tom had to come out twice and he was really experienced over 25 years and knew what he was doing.

I have purchased GE appliances in all our homes, this is the 3rd appliance package so, obviously I'm happy with GE 'stuff'.

However, we have had some repair issues; we had a noise problem with the fridge that was repaired under warranty. Then, one month out of warranty the one gas burner quit working but it was something I could live with. Now the microwave stays on when the door is closed, probably the control panel.....expensive repair. Needless to say, I was not happy I would have to pay service, labor and parts just 3 months out of warranty.

I called for the service appointment, explained my dissatisfaction with GE, the representative suggested I call GE consumer advocates and guess what?! Because the warranty just expired they will cover the part. My trust in GE is restored!! Yipee

I had a fabulous conversation with both scheduling and customer relations, especially a kind lady by the name of Heather. I purchased a new stove and refrigerator from a local appliance dealer and both were delivered with defects. The retailer had NO good answers for us but GE did. They will be here on Thursday next week to remedy the situation, with it being handled by a certified GE technician. My wait time on the phone was about a minute Nothing but kudos for GE today.

We stay in an apartment where all the products like refrigerator, washing machine, stove are all GE products (atleast 6 years old). We haven't faced any issues so far. We bought a GE single serve blender. Within 1 year, the base got a small crack and started leaking. When I called the customer care, the representative took the name, address, model number, date of purchase and I recieved the new spare in just 1 week. I got the base replaced 3 times in 1 year. Now its more than a year and this time when the base broke, they didn't have the spare and asked to get a complete replacement from Walmart. We just got it replaced. I really appreciate the service provided by GE. I don't think any company would pay this much of importance to customer for even smaller products. The shipping charges were also taken care by GE itself. We are so satisfied with the product too that I decided to buy our next product also from GE.

I give GE 10 Stars for their customer service! I have NEVER been so impressed with a company's customer service! I had to change my delivery date and address 3 times. They honored my rebate even when I thought I would have had to fight for it. They were on time for delivery and they called 30 minutes before (which is better than the other company we ordered from). There was something wrong with my fridge and they offered to replace it or repair it (out of the 7 day window). I opted for repair because I knew it was an easy fix (and the repair worked), the repair was scheduled Friday, but they called Thursday and asked if they could come a day early! WOW is all I have to say! Everyone time I talked to someone on the phone, the service I received was GREAT! Thank you GE!! In a day-in-age when good service is hard to come by, you have it together!

I found GE repair man and customer service to be excellent. Their reps were friendly and accessible. I have all GE kitchen appliances and will only call GE service to repair. Every time I called customer service to resolve my problem they were very friendly and eager to solve my problem. The only problem I found was you could not get a service man out in a timely manor. It took 3 to four days to get a service man out. This caused me initially call a local repair shop which was a disaster. Using Ge is worth the wait to get it fixed right. They have the equipment and knowledge to fix it right the first time!

In brevity I had a issue to the paint flaking off of the inside of my microwave,
called customer assistance, advised them that I no longer had my purchase receipt. By some fortune I had registered that appliance and that gave them something to refer back to for my purchase date. With this in mind I could not return it to the place of purchase. With that in mind I was offered by the G.E. rep in essance a rebate for to front the money for a new Micro and they would rebate back to me the purchase price.
I prior had a issue with a front loader Duet washer, after talking with a rep Of G.E they agreed to provide the part if I paid the labor to install, ($60.00). At this point G.E. has been and will be my choice of product.
I have had noting but positive feedback for this company. Stove J Rocco

On Feb. 3, 2011 while cooking dinner on a GE Profile range, smoke began to come from the back of the unit and all cooking facilities (over, range top, etc.) stopped working. I looked at the back of the device and discovered that the connection between the power cord and the connecting block on the back of the range had caught fire and burned the wiring on the unit severing the electrical connection.

On Feb. 4, 2011 I called GE customer service and reported the problems. I could not have received a more congenial or cooperative response. They inquired whether there had been any more damage or injuries (there were none) and they offered to repair the unit at no cost. They also arranged for a repairman to come out and work on the unit within 5 hours of the call. It was superlative customer service.

When the GE repairman (Technician #390) arrived within 3 hours the treatment could not have been more different. The first remarks from the repairman were that I did not need to replace the burned out connector block and I could fix the problem myself by cutting the terminals off of all the wires and splicing them together. I told him I did not want to do that and I asked for the oven to be repaired.

He then said that I had to pay for the new GE power cord because “it did not come with the unit”. I told him that the GE oven had caused the damage and it resulted in the GE cord being burned off. He argued with me continually that GE was not responsible because they had not installed the oven. He said that although it was all GE equipment the installation service had connected it incorrectly so GE was not responsible. I told him AI had a contact at GE Customer Relations and asked him if he wanted me to call him. He said that he did not want me to call and he stopped arguing that I had to pay for the parts.

He then could not identify the parts that needed to be replaced so he made several calls to the GE service center. I told him the parts must be listed somewhere on the files he was searching on his laptop computer. He eventually found the units and part numbers and he suggested that he could “overnight them” to get them and quickly make the repairs. But then he changed his mind and decided he would return on Feb. 9th to do the work.

I told him it would be inconvenient to be without the use of the range for that long and so he suggested that I fix the oven myself. He told me I could cut the terminal off the burned wires, strip the damaged insulation off the power cord and splice them together to be able to use the range. He advised me to be sure to connect the white “neutral” wire up correctly and he advised me to be sure to wrap the spliced wires carefully.

He then left my house without having done one minute of work on the damaged unit.

When I spliced the wire together like he told me to do, I plugged in the unit to see if it would work. Then I tried to place the metal cover on the back of the over and the connection sparked so brightly it lit up my kitchen.

I immediately called GE Customer Relations, told them about my experience and asked for another technician to make the repairs on the scheduled date of 2/9/11. The representative was very understanding and he said that the technicians had been trained to advise customers to never work on the appliances. He said another technician would come to my house on the scheduled date and finish the repair.

On Feb. 9, 2011 Technician #309 Showed up at my house and I sent him away. I called GE Customer Relations again and the re-scheduled the repair appointment for Feb. 11, in the afternoon.

From my perspective General Electric displayed the best and the worst customer service I have ever seen within the space a few days.

It is always a pleasure to inform a company that their products have performed well. Over 60 years ago, my in-laws bought both a chest freezer and a refrigerator that have continued to perform well. On April 9th they both will be picked up & recycled by Mid-American Utilities. Both are still in great working order & have never required a service call. In addition, I had to change a light bulb in my bedroom fixture last week (first time in over 25 years) & when checking to see what bulb to use to replace it, found the one I removed was a 52 watt GE energy saving bulb! What a tribute to your company!

i had a washer that failed after 2.5 yrs. The repairs would have cost more than what I paid for the machine . I see all the negative comments, but I must say, to date, my experience has been positive(except for the broken washer) - they are sending me a replacement motor, computer board and pump free, no questions asked. While I still have to pay the tech service fee, it is better than buying a new washer - I have not yet received the part, so we shall see. but so far I am very surprise at the customer service I received.
